napoli's italian restaurant

napoli's. so... just to let traveler's know... napoli's is an amazing place to eat!!!! i was just browsing and found this website. as a resident of amarillo, the top 3 favorite rest. are on my top list as well!!

went here for our anniversary, a mistake i won't make twice. our server started with bringing us the wrong drinks, then a very rude man "brought" us bread by tossing the basket on the table. the bread was over cooked on the outside and raw in the center. marinara sauce was good, out of a jar or can but good. my chicken was boiled, or precooked and my shrimp was precooked rubber. the sauce was bitter and tasted spoiled. my wife also had chicken though hers was of the factory breaded and precooked type, her sauce had so much lemon juice concentrate it was not edible. we were told they did not have any cheesecake because of the busy weekend and the truck hadn't come in yet, but our server "found" a slice for us on the house(i quote; this is on the house cause they are trying to get rid of it). frozen(i would call it sara lee but she would be offended) mess on a plate drizzled in what tasted like store brand hershey sauce. glad the dessert was free. wont go back, and will make sure everybody i know is well informed about this dump with nice paint. also my chair was so wobbly i feared i was going to fall before i finished eating.

cute place but the food was blah. this place was pretty cute on the inside and fairly busy but after eating i dont know why... even fast food fazzolis tastes better :(

i guess the downtown location and reasonable prices keep it open and the drinks are good... but this is not good italian food but also it was not bad so maybe i will give it a third try... the lasagna and spaghetti were not good though so i might try something else to see why everyone likes this place lol

it smells nice and has great atmosphere i love their bread knots and their spaghetti with meatballs

meh.... i ordered the 'pasta combo' and got 3 tiny little samples of their pasta for 9 bucks - not near worth it. the marinara was thin and very tart. on the flip side, my daughter's chicken marsala was pretty good. overall, give it a pass.

omg, where do i begin? the only thing positive about this place was the service. our waitress was courteous, and attentive. the meals had no natural flavors, they were big portions to justify the price however, the sauces were watery or compensated for lack of freshness. the chicken genovese had two small pieces of tastless water soaked chicken.the bread should have been a dead give away, hard,stale, simply microwave reheated...plus they need to do something about the flys!!
extremely disappointed.

one of the best italian restaurants i've eaten at. ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. it is a huge plate with two large meatballs! i got full and brought half back for lunch today! the sauce is not too sweet and not too acidic, it's just right. the spaghetti was cooked to a perfect al dente! i rarely get spaghetti cooked so well. the meatballs are dense and very flavorful! the bread knots served before the meal are a salty and parmesany and garlicy goodness with the marinara dipping sauce! will definitely be back when i'm in amarillo next time!

went to have a late dinner. haven't been in awhile, now i know why. the food was disgusting!!! so sad i used to love there food. from the bread, appetizers, salad and the main dish. they were all very unsatisfactory and nasty. definitely won't be returning!

disgraceful. napolis had always been a favorite until friday night. we were disappointed in every dish. the bread has always been tender before but was dry and a little crusty. it just didn't taste fresh. the seafood ravioli was bland and the sauce had little pools of oil floating on top. my husband ordered the vicky's special and was also disappointed. the pasta was not tender and was cold. the sauce was hot but not hot enough to warm the entire dish. we were there by 5:00 and there was no crowd so i see no reason for such a poor experience. i give you zero stars and i do not plan on returning.

simply appalling. were seated after a short wait. 15 minutes later someone showed up to take our order. red flag! one salad showed up 15 minutes later. everyone else seemed to be getting food. we were not. other waitstaff were hustling, as were the cooks. they appeared to have assigned to our table to server responsible for the bar, in an entirely different section of the restaurant. we waited. my buddy's salad was sitting on the serving hatch. i knew it was his. i could see the other waitstaff looking at it, wondering about it. didn't see our server again. no drink refills. i went to find the manager. they were all over apologetic but we decided to call it a day. i had two bites of salad and some water. my buddy had a coke. in 45 minutes. whilst everything else seemed to be going on around us. to add insult to injury, the place seemed to reckon that very bad live music would add to the experience.

pizza by the slice is nice!. i enjoy going to napoli's for lunch & for dinner out with friends. i just recently realized that you can order pizza by the slice & i love that! their cheese pizza is really tasty & i appreciate that i can order a slice of pizza & a salad for lunch & pay less than $10!
the manicotti & cheese ravioli are also good. the water is atrocious, even the waitresses comment about it. they offer bottled water though, which is nice.
the parking situation is less than desirable, but pretty much anywhere downtown has the same problem.

impressive dinner. my family hosted a rehearsal dinner at napoli's this weekend, and we were so impressed with every detail. from the first call to the manager in august, to the last minute change of location - they handled everything with class and ease. their signature bread was hot and full of flavor, the salad was amazing, and the entrees were plated beautifully and were delicious. our true thanks goes to the awesome servers who met our every need. we could not ask for anything more from the best kept secret of downtown amarillo!

meh.. went to napoli's for lunch earlier this week. food was ok, but there was one server who thought it prudent to provide judgement about the dish i ordered even though it was on the menu. thankfully, he wasn't the server assigned to our table; he just brought our food. i guess i would be a little upset with the world, too, if i was a server working in downtown amarillo, but don't spread your severely jaded, wish-i-was-a-hipster-living-in-austin outlook on paying customers.

never again. the patio is nice - but everything else is awful. the food is bland, bland, bland. we have been a few times, but it has gotten worse every time. most dishes are drowning in bland sauce. on one visit, our friend ordered a side of meatballs with her meal. when she asked for cheese on the meatballs, the manager said it would be $2 more. ridiculous.

i would only go back if i could bring my own food and drinks to the patio.

never again. the eggplant dish was the worst and gooey.. i asked for a refill on ice tea and when he brought back my drink it had trash in it!!!! trash like a lemon peel, paper from straw. really????? never eating there again.
