napoli's italian restaurant

buon appetito! maybe. think of it as your local italian joint at the corner. cool location downtown and a great patio. take a stab at it yourself and make your own decision. you could get hooked on the garlic bread and red sauce before the entree and not care about your meal. the food is very average but good for amarillo. it is more italian than olive garden, but what isn't. the pasta is definitely not fresh made and it is questionable if a microwave is used in preparation due to variance in food temps. try their brandy cream sauce on most any pasta because it is very good. service is moderate to poor but friendly. avoid salads since they are stingy, cheap and retro 1960's (iceberg and maybe tomato) . cleanliness is often questionable too. prices are moderate and portions are generous.

you lika da sauce?. this is what happens when white people think they can cook ethnic food. lotsa da sauce! does everything here have cream in it?

i enjoyed it. my chicken picatta was delicious, as was the salad. service was a bit spotty, waiter was wearing cargo shorts and a t-shirt, so i guess they are going for a casual atmosphere.

great food. i come to this restaurant pretty often, the service is usually good. the food is always great, all my times here i have never had a bad experience. the owner goes around and makes sure you are being taken care of. this little italian restaurant downtown is a great place to meet up with friends and have a few drinks before a night out. love it!

great food...bad service. i love napolis! they have the tastiest breadsticks and the alfredo sauce is the best i have ever had. their service however leaves me angry more often than not. i have had 2 incidents where the same waiter forgot to order our food leaving us with only 5 minutes to eat or take it to go at lunch time and 1 incident with a togo that left a coworker of mine with out a meal. i have waited tables since i was 16 and have managed a large restaurant so i am very understanding of certain problems but poor customer service is not one of them. love love love the food though and will go back.

best sauce!!. great creamy sauce on the mushrooms, ask for it on everything! this place is pretty good. never really had a bad meal yet.

honestly, it's good food. don't go in expecting olive garden. but do expect good pasta, pizza, and...oh yes, the bread! a+ in my book.

so so. i seriously wanted to love napoli's but this place is much too loud, and i'm only 30! the food is mediocre at best, and i think they try to hide bad food with good service. bottom line: bad food is bad food whether its served piping hot in 5 minutes or less, or in an hour.

what a disappointment. i heard good reviews about napoli's from locals here, as well as from this site, so my husband and i decided to give it a try. we went on a friday, at 3:30, when there are few other people there, and nothing to distract the kitchen or wait staff from doing their jobs to perfection.

i am a traveler, and a foodie, and have worked in the food industry before, so i know the dynamics of the kitchen, and have high expectations when a person tells me a restaurant is great. napoli's was anything but great.

the dinner rolls were no better than a fast food chain bread sticks. the calamari was tough and had little flavor, but wasn't overly breaded which was a plus. the main courses were terrible, though- i couldn't have cooked chicken that bland if i tried. i had the chicken picatta, which was basically flavorless chicken covered in a flavorless, strangely colored sauce. my husband had the chicken carciofi, which tasted fine as long as you didn't eat that terrible chicken. also, something about the pasta had a metallic taste, as if a major ingredient came from a can. i'll never go there again, and i have great suspicions of anyone who rated this place well. either you don't know good food, or you were seriously lucky, or perhaps you were payed to give napoli's good reviews.

on the plus side, the service was prompt, no mistakes were made on his part.

i was a little worried due to mixed reviews, but glad i went. the atmosphere was pleasant, the staff was great, and the food was delicious! my wife and i decided this is our new favorite italian place in amarillo. the food ingredients are obviously fresh which really separtes this food from the standard italian chains (and it's cheaper too!).

food was alright nothing to write home about. but we were seated in the back room. the one with the door to the patio that all of the waitstaff used as a shortcut to set up for a party. needless to say every 2-3 minutes this door would slam shut making it very unpleasant. i might go back, but i won't let them seat me there again!

love love love. and from a previous review, why would someone not eat here because it has a lot of reviews? and a lot of good reviews at that? i would think this was a good thing. napoli's has earned every one of those good reviews.

food is great & very large portions. you can dress up or down depending on your mood.
