namaskar india - house of real food

visting friends in havelock north for the long weekend we went to namaskar last saturday night.  first impressions, verynicedecor and layout and the place was full with people waiting for tables, a good sign.   thank goodness we had booked.  top marks to the waitress who heard us saying how indian restaurants offer keema naan but not a keema curry, one of our favourites.  she said she would ask the chef if he would do one for us, came back with an instant yes! so we were sold!    mixed vege entree yummy and plenty of it.  all the curries came out as ordered and the helpings plentiful.....a great dining experience and wonderful authentic food.  the manager came over and had a chat and was very friendly and pleasant to talk with. thanks for going the extra mile to make us the keema curry

few days back i was in napier with my family, at lunch time we thought of having an indian meal. menu mania is a good sight to find anicerestaurants in town. checked and found that there were a few indian restaurants in town. thought of trying food at namaskar in havelock north. "namaskar" the name sounds welcoming. and it was, good food and friendly staff. and good service. we will come back for more. namaskar surprise us when we come come back again.

recently 14 of us dined at namaskar for a work function. i booked online, they actually replied promptly and confirmed with a phone call. there were at least 30 other diners but we had no long wait or forgotten dishes etc very impressive. the food perfect , service great, reallyniceatmosphere and the decor is fresh. the staff went the extra mile to make sure we had a fun night.

good authentic flavours andniceservice. could do with bit of generosity with their dishes and rice with their mains, only indian restaurant in the entire country where mains are not accompanied with rice!
