namaskar india - house of real food

namaskar never fails to deliver. the food is always great, takeout or eat-in. we are not food critics, but do enjoy our indian, and it's fantastic to find a place that is so consistent with their quality and service - judging by the other reviews on this site, we're not the only people who think this! keep up thegreatwork staff at namaskar!

in havelock north on holiday, wish we booked ahead of time as the restaurant looked inviting! we ordered takeaways, received all the food we ordered, hot and fresh. the food tasted well balanced, spicy and authentic. the chefs are talented and would recommend this restaurant to anyone. keep up thegreatwork.

visting friends in havelock north for the long weekend we went to namaskar last saturday night.  first impressions, very nice decor and layout and the place was full with people waiting for tables, a good sign.   thank goodness we had booked.  top marks to the waitress who heard us saying how indian restaurants offer keema naan but not a keema curry, one of our favourites.  she said she would ask the chef if he would do one for us, came back with an instant yes! so we were sold!    mixed vege entree yummy and plenty of it.  all the curries came out as ordered and the helpings plentiful.....agreatdining experience and wonderful authentic food.  the manager came over and had a chat and was very friendly and pleasant to talk with. thanks for going the extra mile to make us the keema curry

was a good restaurant and agreatmeal. a little spicy for my palate but really fresh and curries tasted different with a good blend of spices

the best indian i've had in a long time! perfectly balanced dishes (i tried each one at our table!). agreatrange of meals to choose from and i particularly enjoyed the vegetarian dishes which i don't usually go for. loved the different choices of rice available too. kind attentive staff, beautiful decor and a very warm atmosphere. its a pity i live in auckland otherwise this would be my new regular!

i took my son and husband to thisgreatrestaurant for lunch. it is the best indian food i have tasted in nz in 25 years. their signature dish was fantastic and it was the best biryani i have ever tasted:) i will be back!! many times i expect

my wife and i went to namaskar for an early dinner last nite and thoroughly enjoyed it. the food was superb and the best authentic indian food i've had in hawkes bay or perhaps nz.greatservice and quirky decor made for agreatmeal. we will be back !! highly recommend the booti lamb
