this is not a review of the food but the service instead.

we had a reservation for 8 pax for the 31st dec, 2014 night dinner. it was confirmed by the restaurant manager on 29th dec, 2014 and reconfirmed on 31st dec, 2014 morning. but when we arrived, the manager was running helter skelter. he made us wait for about 30 minutes, during which we didn't even have a place to sit at the waiting area. and while he kept dodging our question as to when can we be seated, on our 4th enquiry, he turned around and asked, "sir, till what time you plan to stay?" and hardly able to believe what we have just been asked, we asked him to repeat. and he again said, "by what time you will leave, sir? i mean till what time will you occupy the table?"

we were stunned! the guy had the audacity to ask us this question when he had kept us waiting for over 35 minutes without honoring our reservation! and when i got wild,he arranged a make-shift table for 6 , just next to the entry door!

by then we were so pissed off that we stormed out of the restaurant after a vile conversation and went to lemongrass restaurant instead.

well, nakli dhaba never had the best of the food but that the service of a 'mayfair' restaurant has taken such a beating was a huge disappointment.

never ever gonna visit this wretched place.

the problem with this place is that they charge a lot..you can find better north indian food any other place with less price..talking about the restaurant it's good..the live performances are the attention seekers..the food is good but too expensive..

nothing new here, not worth the money. any good indian restaurant will have the same quality/variety for less than half the price. options for wine not great either.

this place treats you really well. amazing ambience and good light music. food is a little inconsistent taste wise and for the price you are paying, you will not want to ask the waiter to keep changing because it was nice earlier but not nice today.

one of the finest restaurant in bhubaneswar! loved the food and the service; but of course, its also one of the most expensive restaurant in odisha. so, do visit this place if its a real big occasion worth spending too much! ;)

"nakli dabha". don't be fooled by it's name. it was one of the earliest fine dining restaurants in the city. located in a great locality with lots of other restaurants, bakeries, pubs, etc nearby, this is a place where you can spend your entire evening instead of just going for dinner.ambience: one of the best in the city. modeled around the look and feel of a rustic dhaba. they have models of fake trucks, dogs, etc. to have that edgy by familiar ambiance. additionally you have multiple seating options. some of the tables are put inside small cottages, when you can have your private parties. a nice little touch!
food: great! you have a variety of cuisine to choose from. but i would recommend to try out their rendition of odia dishes and north indian food. the portions are large and yummy.
pricing: a little bit on the heavier side going by the pricing standards of bhubaneswar restaurants. but when you compare it to the pricing of restaurants in metros, it's a steal. not bad. not bad at all.only complaint: they don't serve alcohol. but that's not a big deal as there is a pretty good pub just next door in the same complex.

i had one of the best lunch here in nakli dhaba. me & my friend out for a decent meal in bhubaneswar and we end up here unanimously. the ambience is filled with beautiful traditional artifacts. food was awesome do try afghani chicken tikka & reshmi kebabs although the dessert was far from ok.
i ought to have given a 5 but will settle for a 4 coz of the dessert!!

located right beside outside the premises of mayfair hotel.serves the best n.indian food in bbsr. the service and food quality are beyond satisfactory. highly recommend to try it out. the food is served in a typical indian style which makes the feeling of eating there even more pleasurable.

this is the restaurant that brought in fine dining to bhubaneshwar. we have been visiting this place for quite some time now and i can safely say that i have tried almost all the vegetarian dishes served here.
the highlights of the menu are the parda paneer kebabs, the paneer tikka and the tandoori aloo. the corn seekh kebab however can do with a little improvement. it is not as succulent and flavourful as seekh kebabs need to be.
in the main course all the paneer dishes are very good. the dal makhni is one of the good ones that i have had anywhere in india. sometimes they serve special items which are not available on the menu and there is this palak dish with minced vegetables that they serve which is absolutely to die for.
the prices are a little heavy on the pocket but is worth the food.
the only drawback really is that they are serving the same menu since they started and there is absolutely no innovation happening. the variety is also limited but as far as they maintain quality i don't care much about variety. all in all one of my favourite places for north indian/ mughlai cuisine.

loved the food, we ordered biryani and some mutton dishes & they were delicious. the famous nalengur ice cream serves the perfect end.
