in case of friedfoodemergency. when i want to eat mythologically bad-for-you, greasy, delicious, crispy fried goodness, i head straight to mug-n-bun. the root beer float is to die for, as is the corn dog. and i love getting served in my car and people watching all the other weirdos that are having a friedfoodattack.

the right mindset. i think a lot of people come here expecting everything. mug n bun is an old school drive up and change your grease type of place. thefoodisn't going to win awards or anything. the root beer should though its out of this world good. i live a block away so come here a lot. if you like a little spice the hot pepper cheese balls are one of the best things i have eaten. mac n cheese wedges with some salt or pepper or sweet potato fries are a good choice for something new. they put cinnamon and sugar on the fries. and they have funnel cake fries now which are awesome for dessert. tenderloin and burgers are decent and what you would expect but i tend to go for a foot long with cheese and sauce or a polish sausage. but next time you go make sure u get root beer and hot pepper cheese balls no matter what u decide on and it will all be worth it trust me. and sometimes we will order root beer by the gallon and just split it up, its much cheaper but you have to order to go. doesn't mean you have to leave though.

worst service ever. we got to mug'n bun and it was rather busy so we thought it must be good. were we wrong as this place had the worst service i have ever had in the 30 years i lived here. we pulled up between 2 cars by the seating area and waited for 15 minutes, my wife went up to the window to order and they said someone would be right over. after another 15 minutes someone finally showed up to take our order and the person next to us. we waited for 20 minutes and a waitress took drinks to the car next to us and went back up never to return. we waited for almost another 20 minutes until we got the kids in the car seats and left. the car next to us was still sitting there waiting for their food. in the 1 hour we waited there we were able to go to edwards drive in, order ourfoodand eat. will not be back, would not recommend and scratched from the weekend classic car drive in cruises.

yum!. so i have grown up eating mug-n-bun, some may say it is greasy and gross, but i love mug-n-bun. you simply cannot get anybetter then their rootbeer and onion rings. the location is less then desirable, but i am a foodie, its all about thefoodto me =], i def reccomend it for a hot summer evening.

first of all verify prices over the phone or in person before you place and order. nothing on the website or in this app currently reflects pricing. even with current pricing they still don't calculate the tax correctly and you can overpay. some of the servers are pleasant some are not. in my opinion they are pricey for fast food. my chili cheese fries and five piece mini corndogs came to $9.41. the chili cheese fries are good though. the grilled cheeseburger is good but way too greasy and entirely too much cheese. they used to take american express but just recently quit it. they have not properly removed the signs to reflect so. there is nothing special about this place unless you want different fastfoodtypes of items such as the grilled cheeseburgers, root beer, and chili cheese fries.

the rootbeer is so creamy and smooth. it is the best root beer ive ever had. thefoodis average but good . i like to get the chilli cheese dog or the tenderloin. the hot pepper cheese balls are pretty good and the peanut butter malt is fabulous. they do offer a great selection of sides . this is an indianapolis institution.

got our hotdog fix..!. it was a beautiful day out. wife and i just left a movie this afternoon and didn't want to ruin our dinner date we had planned. we opted to stop by here to get a hotdog fix! she opted for a plain dog with ketchup and mustard. i myself had been wanting to get a coney/cheese/onion dog fix for quite sometime and opted for the cheese, sauce, and onion hotdog. got our dogs with a couple of small root beer drinks to hold us over until our dinner date. very good!

love this place on junk night!. no one in your group or yourself can make up their mind on thefoodthey want to eat? want to take a trip into the past. try this place. virtually anything on the menu to satisfy a kid to a senior. you can get it to go or eat in your car. i haven't had one thing from their menu that i disliked. of course there are items i prefer over others. i would suggest the hot pepper cheese balls with a side of cocktail sauce, chuckwagon sandwich, breaded tenderloin isn't bad, pizza burger is good, corn dogs are good, but the absolute best are the onion rings; they are legendary and what this place is commonly known for. a regular order will feed two. oohhh, and the root beer is pretty good too. take home a half gallon. note - if you call in an order for pick-up, be sure to certainly check your order before you leave, we've been disgruntled a couple of times when we got our order home but wouldn't ever discourage anyone for trying this place due to that.

not like it used to be. two root beers, two foot longs and an order of wedges shouldn't take 45 minutes at 4pm.foodis cold and buns are stale. this place had gone downhill since it used to be a mainstay for race fans.

pizza is a hidden gem. a lot of people arent aware of the pizza that is in the back, since all they know is the drive in. however everyone should try it atleast once. it is our families special treat, it is great, some of the best pizza in the city.

also try the potato wedges, its half potatos instead of wedges, also try the cheeseburgers, they arent known for them, but they are very juicy.

always great. i live right by mug-n-bun and get thefoodfrom here whenever i can. everything is great the burgers, fries, cheese sticks and tenderloins are all mouth watering. if you are not in the mood for your regular dinner, they even have some of the best pizza in the back of the parking lot that is a great alternative.

frozen fun. i like mug-n-bun, but i know that a generous amount of most of any restaurantfoodon the west side can probably come from sam's club over on near the interstate. i don't mind eating there every year, because the price isn't always worth the food. usually anything we get ends up with things we don't order. a great try and see for outsiders, they should invest in menus, i can hardly read all the stuff on the walls.

over-rated. with all the hype i was expecting something special. i have ate there a couple of times and all i can say is that the root-beer is very good. very disappointed in all thefoodi have tried. when thinking of lunch - mug and bun along with taco bell is an automatic no.

i agree that everything is frozen.. considering all thefoodis frozen or at least seems so, mug and bun is not that great. i have, however, always enjoyed going with my family. we know what to expect, so are not disappointed. i'm concerned that some think the tenderloins are what to expect from an authentic hoosier tenderloin. no no no. these are glorified fritters, not loins. do not judge real hoosier classics by mug & bun.
