in case of fried food emergency. when i want to eat mythologically bad-for-you, greasy, delicious, crispy fried goodness, i head straight to mug-n-bun. the root beer float is to die for, as is the corn dog. and i love getting served in my car and people watching all the other weirdos that are having a fried food attack.

friendly staff, great all-american food & fun experience. eating at a great place like this is something everyone should do at least once!

i miss living on the westside!. seriously, i do. not for the run down segmented area and the random crime, but for mug-n-bun! can't go wrong with a root beer and tenderloin. though they have alot of options and haven't had a bad experience yet. can be pricey for some, especially if you start adding extras.

...is a really cool little drive-in spot. it's very old school and makes you feel like you are time-warped to the 50s or 60s.

the right mindset. i think a lot of people come here expecting everything. mug n bun is an old school drive up and change your grease type of place. the food isn't going to win awards or anything. the root beer should though its out of this world good. i live a block away so come here a lot. if you like a little spice the hot pepper cheese balls are one of the best things i have eaten. mac n cheese wedges with some salt or pepper or sweet potato fries are a good choice for something new. they put cinnamon and sugar on the fries. and they have funnel cake fries now which are awesome for dessert. tenderloin and burgers are decent and what you would expect but i tend to go for a foot long with cheese and sauce or a polish sausage. but next time you go make sure u get root beer and hot pepper cheese balls no matter what u decide on and it will all be worth it trust me. and sometimes we will order root beer by the gallon and just split it up, its much cheaper but you have to order to go. doesn't mean you have to leave though.

i strive not to be a creature of habit, but when we got into indy, there was only one place i wanted to go to for dinner – mug ‘n bun - indianapolis’s old school drive-in. mug ‘n bun has been serving up burgers and deep-fried treats since 1960. we discove

what a treasure to find. enjoyed the food. rootbeer is a must have in a frosty mug just like the old days. turn on your headligts for service. how basic is that? can not wait to take our grandkids to mugs and buns.

worst service ever. we got to mug'n bun and it was rather busy so we thought it must be good. were we wrong as this place had the worst service i have ever had in the 30 years i lived here. we pulled up between 2 cars by the seating area and waited for 15 minutes, my wife went up to the window to order and they said someone would be right over. after another 15 minutes someone finally showed up to take our order and the person next to us. we waited for 20 minutes and a waitress took drinks to the car next to us and went back up never to return. we waited for almost another 20 minutes until we got the kids in the car seats and left. the car next to us was still sitting there waiting for their food. in the 1 hour we waited there we were able to go to edwards drive in, order our food and eat. will not be back, would not recommend and scratched from the weekend classic car drive in cruises.

yum!. so i have grown up eating mug-n-bun, some may say it is greasy and gross, but i love mug-n-bun. you simply cannot get anybetter then their rootbeer and onion rings. the location is less then desirable, but i am a foodie, its all about the food to me =], i def reccomend it for a hot summer evening.

first of all verify prices over the phone or in person before you place and order. nothing on the website or in this app currently reflects pricing. even with current pricing they still don't calculate the tax correctly and you can overpay. some of the servers are pleasant some are not. in my opinion they are pricey for fast food. my chili cheese fries and five piece mini corndogs came to $9.41. the chili cheese fries are good though. the grilled cheeseburger is good but way too greasy and entirely too much cheese. they used to take american express but just recently quit it. they have not properly removed the signs to reflect so. there is nothing special about this place unless you want different fast food types of items such as the grilled cheeseburgers, root beer, and chili cheese fries.

great old fashioned drive-in. i can't say anything different than anyone else. the dog with sauce and cheese was great. the tenderloin sandwich was huge. the root beer was perfect, not to carbonated and not to syrupy. if your in indy, i suggest you stop by and try it yourself.

the rootbeer is so creamy and smooth. it is the best root beer ive ever had. the food is average but good . i like to get the chilli cheese dog or the tenderloin. the hot pepper cheese balls are pretty good and the peanut butter malt is fabulous. they do offer a great selection of sides . this is an indianapolis institution.

the root beer is wonderful. their sides ares wonderful. their tenderloin is pretty good. it is not as good as some of their other tenderloins in town, but is better than most. their tenderloin is fresh and hand breaded, but still tastes a bit like a fair tenderloin (not that this is a bad thing). everything here is good, you cannot miss.
