best darn tacoplacethat is a real sleeper. i'm picky and this is up there a la nopalara the tortillas are homemade the salsa is diverse---9 kinds and is fresh made daily and has true street food. the real deal! don't judge a book by the cover just eat and be blown away. ok i'm hungry again

i've been wanting to try this on ace for a while, ever since i saw it was trending on zomato. maybe it was a bad day. i think that the thisplacebecame too popular too fast. my first impression was that it seemed a little dirty. there was not enough staff to keep the tables clean, so after ordering our lunch, i bussed the table so we could sit down, there were several dirty tables. if you are going to have a salsa bar keep it clean and stocked. the best part about lunch was the guacamole dip, it was very fresh and worth a little wait. i had the park tacos which were good but not great and my wife had the taco salad again good but a little salty. if in the area i would give them another try, but would not make a special trip to eat there again.

yes. yes. yes. yes. street tacos all day. big salsa bar. walk up and order so it is quick and jnexpensive. thisplaceis the absolute best. if you like mexican take time to try mr. taco.

great lunch spot & the best service!. the lady behind the counter is awesome! you won't find better service...and she's playing christian music loud during lunch! it's a greatplacewith great food, nothing fancy, but just a good atmosphere is you want to get away from the day-to-day worries we call life. food is fresh and the salsa is fresh! they even sell bottled coke with real sugar cane (from mexico). try the tres leche cake too! i feel great about my money supporting this woman's business. she is simply awesome!

amazing..... thisplaceis fantastic, i think i'm in ♥♥♥ with tacos.. the service is quick, they have a salsa bar, complimentary chips.. and most importantly fresh food.. please try them out.

looks like an eye sore but they have great tacos!. thisplaceis a diamond in the rough, you would probably think twice about dining here just because it doesn't look physically appealing but please take the risk and go inside! they make wonderful authentic tacos, the flavors are simple, fresh and oh so delicious! i drive 30 minutes just to eat one (or three) of their scrumptious tacos! in my last visit i wanted to try the quesadilla and i wasn't too fond of it. i will just stick to the tacos!

amazing!. thisplacehas the best tacos in town! i will drive 40 min from where i live just to eat here. all i have to say is 3 words: authentic california tacos!

really good. i had high expectations for thisplacedue to reviews from friends and website reviews. it met the highest of expectations. not the best looking restaurant i've been in, but it makes up for it with good food. i would recommend to anyone that likes authentic mexican tacos and burritos.

meh mexican food. i've been here a few times and have been underwhelmed each time. that might be due to the insanely high expectations people have forced upon me. the food isn't necessarily bad, but it's nothing mind-blowing either. i've only ever tried the basics: beef tacos (not bad, not great - fairly similar to most other beef tacos found elsewhere), the shredded chicken taco (gummy and dry is offering a generous description), and the ground beef burrito (over-stuffed with black beans and dry rice leading to a slightly less than desiring amount of beef). after typing this, i'm beginning to think the food is only passable because of the liberal amount of cilantro used. i got the impression that someone in the kitchen feels using lots of cilantro can make up for lack of flavor elsewhere.

but not all is bad. i really enjoy the salsa station - help yourself to a variety of fresh salsas and picante sauces offering different flavors to enhance your fare. this is a very nice inclusion and i'd like to see it offered in other places.

i've heard some people describe the restaurant as authentic, but i'm skeptical. mostly because each time i've visited it seems that 90% of the diners appear to be corporate middle-aged white guys who look like me. when i think authentic, i think of aplacewhere i'm in the minority. but perhaps i'm naive.

unfortunately, i've been uninspired by the food at mr. taco one too many times and i will not be visiting again.

good but not great. well i have been in this parking lot many times but i have never eaten at mr. taco. i went and then found hunter's (it's now closed) and then at the other end is flip flops (really good) to. so this time i applied my blinders and went into mr. tacos. theplaceis a little run down but clean. i looked at the menu and decided on the chorizo torta and a hamburger an cheese quesadilla. now the chorizo was different. as a sausage maker i was mildly surprised with the meat chunks instead of gound meat. the spices were nice with a good little kick. now the torta and not the bread i was thinking of having got quite a few tortas in texas but the bun was nice and soft almost creamy. it kinda melted into the torta. the experience at whole was a good one but i think that the old mexican lady that used to come up on job sites in texas may have spoiled me on cheap but very well prepared foods. nice try but i think i should have went to the other end of this strip center.

mixed thoughts but overall positve.. i dont do chains, so finding aplacelike mr taco is something i always look forward to. got there at 11:00, they actually open at 10:30 and there were 15 people in line by 11:15. its worth the wait for your fresh cooked order.

first off, i was intrigued by the tortas...i opted for fish and that was a huge mistake. they should just take this off the menu cause its terrible. one tilapia filet on a fresh cooked 6" bun, and the whole thing was just a mess of avocado and mayonnaise, anything else would have been better, stay away from this item. however, as bad as the execution was, all the ingredients were fresh and the bun was right out of the oven.

i also tried the carnitas (beef) and pastor (pork) tacos on white corn tortillas. they were fantastic, especially when paired with the habanero salsa that is made fresh and hot! each taco was stuffed with at least 3oz of tender shredded meat, a very generous portion. the salsa bar is ok, i think some of the sauces are a little thin but when you order you are served fresh corn chips that are hot and perfectly thin....you wont break a tooth on them while you sample the different salsas.

overall i give thisplacevery high marks, and the best feature here is the lovely lady that greeted me, took my order, served my meal, then brought me a to go box....she was wonderful and i am definitely going back soon!

i’m always on the hunt for good mexican food here in jacksonville. of course everyone knows about how each la nopalera is different. and how long the wait is for taco lu (hint: go after lunch rush but before dinner time). mr. taco seems to be more a word of mouthplaceand the word is really getting out.

lunch time is a bit ridiculous in terms of wait time...but we were not disappointed with the food. the salsa bar is nice (although a few had way too much salt) to sample while waiting and i love the choice of hard/soft white corn, yellow corn, and flour tortillas. thisplacedoesn't seem too americanized, which is refreshing. great flavor in the fish taco and bean taco. the salads don't use crappy iceberg shredded lettuce like most mexican restaurants - proper spring mix! i would love to come back, although i'll give myself an extra 30 minutes allotment.

it's a hole in the wall, but not a good one!. i was excited to try thisplacebased on the awesome reviews. as a california native i have always believed that good mexican food happens in "hole in the walls." thisplaceis a dump, but the food isn't good. i was really disappointed. i was looking forward to the salsa bar, but it was not what i expected, none of it was. i will never go back.

tasty food....crappy service. used to be a greatplaceto get a good, cheap and fast taco. now that it has been "discovered" and written up in some articles, the wait time is horrific! 45 mins to get 3 tacos???? c'mon.

i recommend you try the place, just not during lunch or dinner time.
