the tortas live up to thegoodreviews- great sandwich!!! live at the beaches but it was worth the trip for something different. try the hibiscus juice, it'sgoodtoo. the owner was very friendly and helpful and seemed to take pride in his restaurant, which feels rare these days.

the promised land. i think i found my new taco spot. all hail mr.taco whoever this man is. when walking in i was greeted by the nicest lady ever told her about my diet issues and she told me the re-fried beans were made in house with no lard and the black beans weregoodto go too. rice was made with no chicken stock or animal products and no dairy in the guacamole. i was blown away by the fresh salsas and homemade crunchy taco shells. this reminded me of being on tour on the west coast and that distintive taco truck taste (thats agoodthing).

oh! and like everyone else is saying the imported coca-colas are the best. god i'm in love. it's nice to have a break from the negative experiences.

i've been wanting to try this on ace for a while, ever since i saw it was trending on zomato. maybe it was a bad day. i think that the this place became too popular too fast. my first impression was that it seemed a little dirty. there was not enough staff to keep the tables clean, so after ordering our lunch, i bussed the table so we could sit down, there were several dirty tables. if you are going to have a salsa bar keep it clean and stocked. the best part about lunch was the guacamole dip, it was very fresh and worth a little wait. i had the park tacos which weregoodbut not great and my wife had the taco salad againgoodbut a little salty. if in the area i would give them another try, but would not make a special trip to eat there again.

great lunch spot & the best service!. the lady behind the counter is awesome! you won't find better service...and she's playing christian music loud during lunch! it's a great place with great food, nothing fancy, but just agoodatmosphere is you want to get away from the day-to-day worries we call life. food is fresh and the salsa is fresh! they even sell bottled coke with real sugar cane (from mexico). try the tres leche cake too! i feel great about my money supporting this woman's business. she is simply awesome!

really good. i had high expectations for this place due to reviews from friends and website reviews. it met the highest of expectations. not the best looking restaurant i've been in, but it makes up for it withgoodfood. i would recommend to anyone that likes authentic mexican tacos and burritos.

shredded chicken tacos were super dry. the rice and beans weregoodthough. not terrible but i don't see myself going back.

good but not great. well i have been in this parking lot many times but i have never eaten at mr. taco. i went and then found hunter's (it's now closed) and then at the other end is flip flops (really good) to. so this time i applied my blinders and went into mr. tacos. the place is a little run down but clean. i looked at the menu and decided on the chorizo torta and a hamburger an cheese quesadilla. now the chorizo was different. as a sausage maker i was mildly surprised with the meat chunks instead of gound meat. the spices were nice with agoodlittle kick. now the torta and not the bread i was thinking of having got quite a few tortas in texas but the bun was nice and soft almost creamy. it kinda melted into the torta. the experience at whole was agoodone but i think that the old mexican lady that used to come up on job sites in texas may have spoiled me on cheap but very well prepared foods. nice try but i think i should have went to the other end of this strip center.

i’m always on the hunt forgoodmexican food here in jacksonville. of course everyone knows about how each la nopalera is different. and how long the wait is for taco lu (hint: go after lunch rush but before dinner time). mr. taco seems to be more a word of mouth place and the word is really getting out.

it's a hole in the wall, but not agoodone!. i was excited to try this place based on the awesome reviews. as a california native i have always believed thatgoodmexican food happens in "hole in the walls." this place is a dump, but the food isn't good. i was really disappointed. i was looking forward to the salsa bar, but it was not what i expected, none of it was. i will never go back.

pleasent food but not up to the hype. the food was ok but not asgoodas i was expecting . i had shrimp queso's , the shrimp were little frozen ones and they were a cooked on a slightly dirty grill . not bad but not my fav. i would repeat and try something else. pepes or la napolera would be my first choice . i wanted quacamole but they did not have it .

authentic!. truly a hidden gem! when i first heard the name, i thought it was going to be some generic mexican place...boy was i wrong! this place is as authentic as it gets! i got the 3 tacos (carnitas, asada, and chicken) and they were outstanding! they have a salsa bar with 8 different varieties, and they taste like they were just made (because they probably were.)

my friend ordered her tacos with avocado. when the lady brought it out she told her that she is refunding her $1 (for the avocado) because they did not lookgoodand she was not going to serve them. that really took us by surprise because most places would go ahead and serve it to make an extra buck. this showed us that this place is not only delicious, but honest!
