worth the splurge!. went for restaurant week menu last night and was very pleasantly surprised. at first glance, menu looked a bit boring but morton's took simple dishes and made them delicious! i really enjoyed my first drink "cool as a cucumber" from the bar and dinner - ceasar salad, filetmignon, side of sauteed green beans and cheesecake for dessert - were all cooked perfectly. portions are extremely generous, ambiance resembled walking into a wine cellar - my dream wine cellar - and service was impeccable. overall pricey, but totally worth the splurge!

an mothers day diaster. i went to mortons at the seaport for mothers day with my family. the service was just ok nothing to write home about. we ordered our food. we wanted an order of onion rings they ran out of them. our meals arrived however they forgot to put my sons order in.
they took his meal off which they should have by the time it arrived we were almost done with our meal. i ordered afiletcooked
medium it came well done. i have eaten several times at flemings and never had a problem. the steak was very small we ordered
six ounce filets. the potatoes were just ok nothing to write home about. i would never go back there and i would discourage anyone
that was thinking of going there.

for great steak, go to morton's. i've been to morton's a few times, and the last two times i have enjoyed a delicious meal at the bar. sean the bartender has great suggestions, is a fantastic host, and has never led me astray.

steaks are juicy, delicious, and every time i've been there have been perfectly cooked. i pretty much only get the double cutfiletmignon - how can you go wrong?

no, it's not cheap - but if you want a great steak it's the place to go.

this place has really jumped the shark. the bisque was lukewarm and watery. the meatballs were good. the crab cocktail and crab cakes were decent. the morton's salad was nothing but bagged lettuce with chopped egg and anchovies with dressing. thefiletwas not good. it was served with aus jus and no bernaise sauce available.... really? the lobster tail was raw in the middle. the sea bass was undercooked but edible. the hamburger and lobster mac were good. the cream spinach was bland and not very creamy. the bussel sprouts were barely cooked. the potatoes au gratin were decent. the cheesecake and chocolate lava cake were good. the service was good and they tried to fix things but the quality of food does not match the price point. sadly i think it's going to die a slow death unless things change.

very happy with my first experience at morton's. the waitress was very knowledgeable. i even kept telling my boyfriend how impressed i was with how she knew every detail of every dish - that has to be tough to remember.. she offered to take our picture without being asked, and then the hostess came over and took our picture with morton's camera and printed a picture for us.

the food was amazing. my boyfriend got thefiletand lobster tail, i got the honey-balsamic glazed salmon fillet with a side of spinach & button mushrooms. everything was perfect. my boyfriend even woke up this morning and said he can't stop thinking about how great his steak was lol.

looking forward to next visit.

i'm a huge carnivore and i love steak, but once i tasted morton's chicken christopher i became hugely conflicted every time i dine at a morton's around the world.  i've been to this location a few times and unfortunately, the chicken christopher isn't quite up to par in boston, so it makes my decision a bit easier here.  last time i dined here they were advertising a 'bacon steak' appetizer and i had to try it...delicious!  the center-cutfiletis very nice, but i prefer ruth's chris over morton's when it comes right down to the steak. the only thing keeping my reviews of morton's being a 4.5 or above is the onion bread...i can't stand onions...my issue, not theirs.

overall a good experience. i hadn't been here in several years. it was once my absolute favorite restaurant. times have changed. we were celebrating a birthday in our group and there 10 of us in our party; they sat us in one of their separate rooms, which was fine with all of us. they brought us their a la carte menu, the magical dining menu for $33 per person, and two other more expensive menus to choose from.

since it was a big group, you would think our waiter (dale) would ask if and how we wanted our checks. nope, not one question! our waiter was working sort of by himself, so service was slow. drinks were not refilled, we had to constantly ask for drinks and different things.

my husband and i both ordered from the magical dining menu, he ordered the salmon and i ordered the 6 ozfiletmignon. the food was great! the steak was perfectly cooked and the side dishes were great as well. from the conversation around the table, the family was happy with their meals.

at the end of our night, the waiter brought us our tab in one check and claimed it was easier for us to give him the cash and credit cards than to divide the check accordingly. some members of our party over paid for their meals, and it was quite disappointing because our waiter didn't want to go back and give us separate checks. we paid $166 for our two meals and drinks; i believe we shouldn't paid over $120!!!

would we go back? not likely!

doesn't meet expectations. when one walks into a fine dining experience like morton's, it seems commonplace to begin comparing the menu / service / ambiance to other popular steakhouses in the city... after all, if you make part of your name "steakhouse" it would be assumed the menu highlight would live up to the rap.

unfortunately, the only main thing this place has going for it is its service. servers + bartenders are absolutely amazing, and the experience they provide can often overcome some of the obstacles a table will encounter. wine prices need to come down a solid 5-10% (especially when threes is next door offering the same bottles for $30 less), the chefs need to take more time and love in signature items (shy away from thefiletmignon), and the management needs to recognize that while the bar scene is very unique and popular... the tableside experience needs some work.

i cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. i wanted to find a nice date night restaurant for my husband and i to celebrate our anniversary. i was hesitant to celebrate at morton's after reading mixed reviews, but i am so glad i did. we were early for our reservation, but they were ready for us and greeted us by name. our waitress was fantastic! she knew the menu in and out. the food was fantastic! i ordered thefiletwith shrimp and scallops, and all three were delicious! my steak was cooked perfect, a surprise since most restaurants want to cook a medium steak medium well. my husband was pleased with his new york strip as well. our waitress surprised us with a complimentary dessert, picture, and anniversary frame. yes, this restaurant is on the pricey side, but absolutely well worth every penny! if you are looking for a nice place to celebrate, or have a quiet romantic evening, this is the place. we will definitely be back!!

perfect in every way. dinning at morton's was a wonderful experience, the staff was attentive greeted us and introduced themselves by name which was different and made us feel very comfortable. we were seated in a nice corner booth just as request. the restaurant is beautiful they kept the dark wood and feel of the old place just modern and clean. fresh flowers, wine bottles, pristine white table cloths and upper end sports memorabilia was nice the ambiance was great. our server was rodney a very pleasant gentleman who was wonderful in his presentation of the menu. from the drink menu (great beer selection) thru entrees, side dishes to the desserts. he answered all our questions my dinner guest a foodie so she had a few good thing he knew his stuff. my appetizer choice the jumbo lump crab cake with a mustard-mayonnaise sauce it was perfect with large pieces of crab, firm held together well the color and texture were perfect, a lot to be said for using clarified butter when cooking. cindy's choice lobster bisque a thick, well seasoned creamy soup with a nice color which unfortunately i did not get to sample. for the entrée's we chosefiletmignon, colossal shrimp alexander both were perfect. vegetables included
sautéed brussels sprouts with bacon and shallots and sautéed button mushrooms to top it off a
grand marnier soufflé that was fluffy warm and perfect.
