mouthwatering filet. i consider myself a picky steak eater. the cut was great, not fatty, seasoned to perfection, mouthwatering. perfect! the atmosphere is romantic, and cozy. service was great.

worth the splurge!. went for restaurant week menu last night and was very pleasantly surprised. at first glance, menu looked a bit boring but morton's took simple dishes and made them delicious! i really enjoyed my first drink "cool as a cucumber" from the bar and dinner - ceasar salad, filet mignon, side of sauteed green beans and cheesecake for dessert - were all cooked perfectly. portions are extremely generous, ambiance resembled walking into a wine cellar - my dream wine cellar - and service was impeccable. overall pricey, but totally worth the splurge!

although i enjoyed choosing the selections that made up my 3-part lunch, i enjoyed eating them even more. i couldn't pass up the lobster bisque, even though i always get it; i can tend to be a creature of habit.

an mothers day diaster. i went to mortons at the seaport for mothers day with my family. the service was just ok nothing to write home about. we ordered our food. we wanted an order of onion rings they ran out of them. our meals arrived however they forgot to put my sons order in.
they took his meal off which they should have by the time it arrived we were almost done with our meal. i ordered a filet cooked
medium it came well done. i have eaten several times at flemings and never had a problem. the steak was very small we ordered
six ounce filets. the potatoes were just ok nothing to write home about. i would never go back there and i would discourage anyone
that was thinking of going there.

for great steak, go to morton's. i've been to morton's a few times, and the last two times i have enjoyed a delicious meal at the bar. sean the bartender has great suggestions, is a fantastic host, and has never led me astray.

steaks are juicy, delicious, and every time i've been there have been perfectly cooked. i pretty much only get the double cut filet mignon - how can you go wrong?

no, it's not cheap - but if you want a great steak it's the place to go.

wonderful evening. our 9th wedding anniversary dinner at morton's was wonderful. the food, the service and the dessert were well worth the price. i look forward to our next stop at this fine steakhouse.

not really impressed. i was able to get my wife and myself in, without a reservation, which was nice. the hostess was nice. we ordered steaks. they were good. overall the food and service was good. i didn't really like the giant asparagus. bottom line though, you are not getting what you pay for. if they are going to have those kind of prices, they should be better than good. i have heard of many other steakhouses around louisville since then, so that is where i will be next time. i will probably never go back to morton's.

my wife and i stay in uptown dallas frequently and until tonight we have never tried morton’s on mckinney. it is in a convenient location to the hotel we frequent and after an awesome day watching the rangers beat the angels we thought we would give it a try.

i’m not going to go into a lot of detail about the dining or reception areas. they are fine and typical of many of the steakhouses in dallas. the dining area is nowhere near as nice as nick and sam’s for example… more on par with ruth’s chris.

before i get started you should know that i consider myself a fair and balanced food critic. i love hole in the walls and fine dining. price is not my main criteria.

for an appetizer we ordered the shrimp alexander. it was good. my wife as usual ordered the lobster and i ordered the bone in ribeye…. prime the server said.

i’m not sure what morton’s definition of prime is. maybe they order their steaks from amazon prime. maybe they feel like the pay prime for their beef. all i can tell you is if my steak was graded select it would have been just marginal. if it had been graded choice it would have been disappointing. the fact that morton’s states that they served me aged prime beef is at best dishonest and more likely fraudulent.

if morton’s is going to stay in business in uptown dallas (and they won’t) then they absolutely must purchase their beef from another vendor or they must far and above upgrade the quality of their steak knives… i recommend something with much deeper serrated edge than the knife they had available tonight. a larger handle would also make holding the knife easier considering the amount of strokes and pressure it will take to make a cut. it should not require no less than five (yes i swear five) firm strokes with a serrated edge steak knife to cut a steak cooked medium.

the sides were just not good. we ordered the bacon/ onion mac and cheese and the horseradish mash potatoes. portions were huge but not needed. we both ate one spoon of the mac and cheese and about the same of the potatoes. they were just so marginal that they honestly were just simply not worth ingesting the calories.

i ate about 1/3 of the steak and called it a night. we easily left 3/4 of the sides untouched. the entrees and sides were so marginal to bad that we didn’t give them a shot at dessert. the lobster was ok…. but then again how do you screw up a broiled lobster tail.

we waited 20 or so minutes for our server to bring our ticket, paid and left. i didn’t make a fuss or ask for a manager as honestly what could he do… free dessert… no thanks.

instead of money a better “tip” would be: to the chef: find another line of work. for the staff: look for another place to work. for you the reader: dine elsewhere. if you’re in uptown dallas you have choices. nick and sam’s, the palm, even ruth’s chris is much, much better.

if your car is broke down on mckinney in uptown and your waiting on the tow truck and you’re starving… there’s a smashburger just down the way and it’s much, much better and a couple hundred bucks cheaper than morton’s the steakhouse on mckinney in dallas.

in conclusion it is without a shadow of a doubt the worst $260.00 meal i’ve ever had. it would have been the worst $150.00 dollar meal too if that gives any perspective.

if i had wasted a special occasion on this joint i would have been very upset. if i can keep one person from wasting their time (not to mention the money) here; especially considering your other options, then i will have made my point.

my wife made me add; if you end up at morton’s against your will… get the cadillac margarita as it was quite good.

this place has really jumped the shark. the bisque was lukewarm and watery. the meatballs were good. the crab cocktail and crab cakes were decent. the morton's salad was nothing but bagged lettuce with chopped egg and anchovies with dressing. the filet was not good. it was served with aus jus and no bernaise sauce available.... really? the lobster tail was raw in the middle. the sea bass was undercooked but edible. the hamburger and lobster mac were good. the cream spinach was bland and not very creamy. the bussel sprouts were barely cooked. the potatoes au gratin were decent. the cheesecake and chocolate lava cake were good. the service was good and they tried to fix things but the quality of food does not match the price point. sadly i think it's going to die a slow death unless things change.

restaurant row
i feel generous giving this restaurant a 1 star.

let me preface this review by stating that we are a foodie group of over 6,000 members. we go around the central florida area experiencing fine cuisine restaurants.

i booked a 7 pm reservation in january for a valentine's day dinner party of 15. the restaurant called me at 3:30 pm (2/14) and told me that the restaurant needed to push back the reservation by 30 mins because they were overbooked.

we all arrived at 7:30 pm and were told that only half of our table was ready. we could see that the restaurant was busy so we waited outside until our table was ready.
by 8 pm we were served prosecco champagne outside because our table was still not ready.

we were finally seated at 8:20 pm and had our water glasses filled but it took a while to get our drink orders taken.
by 8:45 pm we had still not ordered food. when our orders were taken, a few members of our party ordered from a full course menu. because our table was long, not all of our party knew about this full course option, so they chose the regular menu.

those who ordered the full course menu received the lobster bisque appetizer cold and one person in the group did not get his bisque because they "were out". he was given an alternative soup.

during this entire time we watched many other patrons come in, eat their entire meal, and leave.
there were many times when our water glasses weren't replenished and we had to ask for refills.

our waiter/waitress were completely inattentive to us sitting there waiting for our entrees to arrive and did not offer us refills on wine, nor did they provide us with updates of when our food would be ready. it did appear that they were understaffed because our waiter/waitress had many other patrons; not just our party.

it was almost 10 pm when the entrees arrived. the quality of the food was good, but serving cold lobster bisque, running out, and the prolonged wait times had already set the tone for the remainder of our meal.
the staff appeared extremely rushed. those who did not order the full course meal were not offered a dessert option.

because of the late hour, many chose to take their entrees home.

we spoke with the manager (adam) about our overall experience. i let him know that we have never had this type of experience at eddie v's or any other restaurants in the area. he stated "but you've never been there on valentine's day". he also said that he could not control the party before us as they stayed 2 hours and that was the reason behind our being seated late.

we were beyond frustrated at this point; how does another party staying late concern us???
i told him that if they were that overbooked they should have never accepted my reservation or made sure they had enough staff to accommodate our party. we were the only large party that night. we were also told that you would have to "ask" for the full course menu. i told him that we are one table. why provide this option to only part of our table?

he kept apologizing and saying that he doesn't know what more he could say. it is noted that after the discussion with the manager, the wait staff then asked if we wanted refills on our wine (after eating our entrees).

we finally paid our tabs and walked out of the restaurant at 11 pm.
this was for an original 7 pm reservation.

with the exception of one person, the rest of us had never eaten here.
i had heard great things about the restaurant and the quality of food was overall good at best but it was not what we expected.
the overall service was absolutely the worst that we've ever experienced.

last month we went to christner's prime steak and lobster with a party of 21. the food, quality of the restaurant, ambiance, and service was top notch and way beyond our expectations. coming to morton's after dining at christner's was extremely disappointing.

it's sad that a restaurant of this caliber can not provide that same quality for large parties on a special day like this.

we will definitely think again before ever coming here in the future.

food was ok, average taste of steak. atmosphere amazing but the two steaks we asked to put in take away boxes we not added. we learned when we got home. it was about 12 oz. of steak. with the price tag of 63.00 a piece, that was about 50.00 gone. it was a birthday dinner and we were looking forward to having this for breakfast. they gave him a birthday dessert but charged us for it, we never asked for one. 😞😞😞😞. waited for an hour between salad an dinner. my salad had brown lettuce and had way too much vinegar for a caesar. my vegetables were cold and part of our sides came out close to the end of our meal. very disappointing for a special event.

first time in a morton's and will say i was impressed at level of service and care we were given. the lady and i just out on a night stroll to find some food decided to walk in. as we entered the beautiful room we both felt maybe we were a little under dressed. spoke to the host and she welcomed us to seat. next time and there will be one i know the dress and little more on the ordering. portions are huge here. we first had ahi tuna tower and amazing. i could have stopped here and been pleased. our salads came next a warm spinach that we actually split at waiters suggestion. good call my friend and for our main she had a bacon steak and i had filet, scallops , and shrimp. at this point we are both on the full side but food was so delicious and cooked perfect one more bit would fall in my mouth. as for for the 2 side we ordered amazing but i do not recommend this as side are huge and no one person needs to not share these.  overall great food service and atmosphere.  we will most definitely do again for the experience and food. and the have some amazing cocktails as well.
