noticed one of my friends who posted her recent dining experience for birthday celebration at this renowned restaurant. it reminds me my recent experience here in valentine day last month. honestly, it was the first time that i had dinner at this venue after it relocated from the last one in paddington.
upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly wait-staff and led us to our table. ambience is grand and lay out of tables was much spacious than before but can be better.
the hospitality was so good that we enjoyed the banquet very much. we could not pick up any fault but unforgettable experience. love the fresh and high quality scallops with spot in preparation. hero should be the steak, which was done perfectly in pink. carefully rest with dashed of rock salt on top. chef’s culinary skill deserves thumb-up👍👍👍

came here for an anniversary. the setting is perfect for a date. to be clear though, this is the quintessential fancy french restaurant with high prices, big plates and small portions ~ just something to be aware of.

my partner ordered and went for a range of seafood dishes. all exceptional. for mains we ordered lamb and beef, both nice but have had better for less elsewhere.

great service as expected in a restaurant of this type. even left a tip!

wished the tables were just a little further apart. was busy on a week night, so obviously has a good reputation.

a nice night out, but not kind on the wallet. strangely this restaurant was not open on the weekends, so keep that in mind if you are planning a special occasion.

dishes were excellent but a little bit too greasy. the seats are too close to each other. on the whole, it's a really nice french restaurant.

i had their degustation menu, the foods were well cooked and perfectly presented.

service was spot on.

overall it was an excellent dining experience.

highly recommended.

the crab souffle was too salty end up we need to return. is not the same prepare with two years ago.... the lamb brain was not juicy, most of the dishes are lack of flavor. it used to my top one restaurant..... well.....nothing can last forever, i better move on!!

i visited montrachet for a work lunch last week. nestled on king st, the restaurant was beautifully decorated and i enjoyed ambience quite a bit. we had a fair few people on our table so the we were offered an a la carte menu which was a shame because there were other dishes i was keen to try. all in all it was a good meal, some better than others but i wish i could've had the souffle for dessert.

i honestly don’t know why it took me this long to visit montrachet. every dish that came out (including the bread and butter) was absolutely amazing. we came in a group of 4 and ordered shared entrees and our own desserts and mains and it ended up being roughly $150 with drinks. the stand out for me was definitely the crab soufflé - to die for! service - top notch! can’t wait to come back!

if you ask locals in any city for a list of their top restaurants, a few common names will usually crop up. for brisbane, montrachet seemed to be one such place, the sort of restaurant that was always mentioned whenever you asked someone where would they recommend and always spoken about with fondness by those who had been there.

i went to the old montrachet back in the late 2000s and was keen to try the new revamped restaurant. the decor was great, not a huge restaurant but not too noisy. service was very friendly. food was amazing, loved the scallops and onion soup. mains of lamb and duck were both cooked perfectly with delicious accompaniments. dessert of peach melba and opera cake was a lovely way to finish the night. cocktails were also very good! would recommend this for a special night out.

excellent service, very professional and accommodating. we had a saturday evening booking, so had to do the 5 course degustation. all of the courses were delicious, cooked very well and had great flavours. i do wish there was something a little more adventurous in the set menu though.

and again tuesday night - perfection ; that crab souflee would be my last meal on earth. service so professional and friendly, even shannon stopped by to say thank you for coming.

have yet to go to bowen hills (couldn't get a table!), but our dinner in paddo was perfection. omg, really generous serves of high quality food, and excellent service. i still dream of the goats cheese soufflé in bisque. i'm fussy about bouillabaisse and theirs was amazing; tasty, fresh, all the different components perfectly cooked. can't wait to go back ...

went in with high expectations. the wait staff and great and well versed. kitchen let them down poorly. food is dry lacks taste and needed to be sent back.

if this place was half the price it would be a 5, but i can't say it's an amazing experience for its price. sure the $70 bottle of wine was great and the food was good, but i've had similar experiences for half the price. the only real quality difference here i found compared to less expensive places was that montrachet gave more thought to varying textures in most of their dishes. i'd go back if someone else paid.

long before i had ever started food blogging, i had already been acutely aware of the foodie scene and had made a bucket list of dream places i really wanted to go to, but had to save for a special occasion. top of my list was none other than montrachet, the french restaurant which has newly been relocated to the hot foodie hub, king street in bowen hills. with my annual birthday celebrations on foot, two very dear friends offered to let me choose the place to have dinner, and i finally couldn't resist the temptation, and so queen v made the booking.

loved everything about this place, its new , its well designed , elegant, beautiful. the service was amazing from as soon as you walk in the door all the way till you leave.the foood!! amazing!!! the duck leg, tender on the inside and crispy on the outside.my favourite, the rack of lamb, cooked to perfection👌. the souffle is must for an entree. really imoressed with the whole experience and look forward to trying out there degustation menu.
