finding this place is half the fun. go through the wooden door and down the stairs, and you'll find the warmth and charm of a cosy old-fashioned speakeasy. it's a little dark inside and the first thing i notice is the long copper bar that's backlit to highlight all sorts of spirits and other liquors. people at the bar w

great hidden gem if you're after a nice spot to just chill after work or wanting to catch up with a friend or two. too small and crowded otherwise.  love the speakeasy theme.

my lady and i trotted through the wooden door on saturday night. what a great place. it was moderately busy but the bar staff / cocktail makers ( cocktailiers?) extraordinaire worked their guts out shaking things and stirring up concoctions with the ease of fairytale witches.
i had a type of old fashioned titled 'are we not men?' well, i know damn well i am. have been for ages! it was unimaginably fantastic. the lady had something red in colour. the name escapes me as i was busy marvelling at my own drink.  our intention was to try a few different drinks but my evening was set. "another 'are we not men' please cocktailier".  the lady had something that may have been greenish possibly with a straw. but my drink was just as fantastically delicious as the first, so little attention was paid.
and so the pattern repeated itself several more times interrupted only by a welcome bowl of pretzels.
 keep on pouring my friends.

a wonderful hidden bar in the civic area. a wooden door leads you up to the non descript stairs and your only clue that you’ve arrived is the big molly on the tiled floor. another wooden door leads into an amazing looking prohibition style bar. the bar is a stunner and is very old school. with current restrictions it is highly recommended you make a booking so you can visit at a time suitable for you.

the bartenders/mixologists are friendly and helpful. i ordered up at the bar and was offered to make payment then and he brought out my cocktail. i had the london gentleman. it was a very balanced and smooth drink. very easy to drink. a lovely blend of beeswax gin, raspberry sherry, grapefruit & honey cordial. it may be a bit sweet for most people but it was just right for me.

i came here for one cocktail with my friend we are both from sydney. if i didn’t ask someone local i wouldn’t of never found it. it’s tucked away in a little car park/ alley way with a white door and a light. once you walk in it’s amazing..

there was a 7 piece live band playing, it was an amazing experience cocktails where tasty too !

boy is this place hard to find if your not a local. don’t use the directions on zomato as it has moved!

anyway we were lucky as we had a local with us, so we found it on our second attempt.

the bar, which is based on the old speakeasy concept, which explains why it’s hard to find, has a great ambience. the cocktail and spirits list is extensive covering a wide range of whiskeys and guns.

the drinks are reasonably priced (eg $14 for a four pillars gin and tonic) but the service is a little on the inattentive side.

the wide range of spirits was really outstanding! the cocktails are good but the bartenders does not care about the presentation which was a shame but they tasted good but not great anyways. i loved the ambience and music.
drinks - 3/5
service - 3/5
ambience - 4/5
value for money - 3/5

really elit vibes from the crowd and the staff never addressed us, even though we stood at the bar for ages. great water though and toilets smell delightful. jazzy music was too soft in the background

the bartenders put on a great show and the drinks were delicious. menu caters to a very refined taste however and the atmosphere was lacking. visited in winter and the heat and smell was quite unpleasant.

beneath the novelty of a bar behind an unsuspecting door lies knowledgeable and friendly staff with a fantastic cocktail menu.

if you order one of their blazers make sure to watch the show!

love it!!! love a good semi-hard-to-find speakeasy. this bar boasts a serious selection of whiskies, cognac and cocktails. whisky prices vary from $15 to $600 (a glass).
we had a few sailor jerry and drys - no vegan charcuterie options on the menu though :(

if you can find this place (it’s hidden down a nondescript stairwell, behind a concealed wooden door in the bowels of the city) you will be treated to a true prohibition-style experience and a brilliant display of cocktail making. molly also offers meat and cheese boards for the meat and cheese fans among us.
