excellent service and an amazing whisky selection. best i've seen in canberra. bartenders are top notch and were able to make all the classics i asked for.

today’s food adventure contains a significant liquid component. i don’t get out to bars much because i am old and tired but today we are going to discuss one of the best bars in canberra, a little known gem called molly. it actually feels wrong to discuss this place as the basic premise is that the bar is secretive, inspired by the speakeasy of the prohibition era. it is so awesome though that it warrants discussion.

cool 'hidden' bar. really cool themed bar with vintage decor, staff dressed up as old school bar tenders, candle-lit. comfy seating and cosy underground feel. overpriced drinks, but obviously a well thought through drink menu and the bartenders have really good knowledge of drinks. went on a saturday afternoon, so was easy to get a big table, but it's small, so would definitely be hard to get in during peak time. really fun place.

came here for some cocktails on my first night in canberra and mollys set the standard quite high.
we each ordered multiple cocktails throughout the night. for me cocktails are meant to be fun, and the bartenders did really well in turning the service into entertainment. i'm also a huge fan of gin and they have so many gin based option which is refreshing (pardon the pun). my favourite was the berrie blue but everything we had was delicious. my only qualm was that they shut at 2:00am, a tad early for my melbourne drinking habits and there wasn't much variety in price range, everything is a bit x-ey.

this is a fun speakeasy that i would occasionally go to with the workmates. the bartenders are exceedingly friendly and would accommodate your different tastes and curiosities of different whiskeys. for the non-whiskey drinkers, they also have an array of delicious cocktails. this place is a bit cramped and loud so just prepare yourself for that type of atmosphere. also, although the bar is well-staffed, it does take a bit of time to get your drink. great place to hang with mates but definitely not a quite place to wind down with some whiskey.

pssttt, molly is double entendre. it also means mdma. shhh, don't tell anyone.

i thought it was a stupid name for a prohibition style speak easy too. turns out mdma was first created in 1912. so what do i know?

wow! incredible little secret prohibition whiskey bar. there's literally a wooden door on the side of a building in the middle of this big empty wall facing a hidden courtyard which leads to a small staircase that goes down into the bar. inside the lights are dim and the waiter brings around pretzels every so often. my favourite cocktail is the french 75

if you don't know about it, you wouldn't know it existed. located down the back alley, down a flight of stairs and behind a heavy door is this underground bar called molly. the ambiance is dark... hidden away to the in crowd... the service is efficient and friendly... top notch professionals. we went down for a couple of drinks... with such a large whisky and cocktail menu... i should have tried but ended up settling for their smallest range of beers possible. all craft but nothing spectacular. great place to chill.. you can even get some food or just meats and cheeses. a great place to go as a group and just relax after a hard day at work. the music is a bit loud making it hard to talk if the person isn't next to you. will definitely come back if i get a chance and hopefully show some sydneysiders this cool canberian hangout.

found refuge at molly when it started raining heavily on our way to another bar, and we were instantly transported to a 1920s prohibition-era speakeasy. it's a themed bar without the kitsch, and has top shelf whisky and cocktails to delight any one that discovers it!

a cool and charismatic hidden bar. very comprehensive drink list that covers from alcohols option to a healthier choice of juice. the little corner of the deli is very cute.

i came to this cool and somewhat hidden jem the last couple of times i was in the capital. absolutely everything is spot on. from ambience, service, the nibbles that they serve and above all, the amazing selection of drinks. i've enjoyed my molly visits and look forward to coming back again, next time i'm in canberra.

i absolutely loved this place. the drink menu is refined and sophisticated. terrific staff answered every question we had and made excellent recommendations. the result was out of this world drinks. this place drips atmosphere and is one of my all time favourite canberra drinking venues.

this place oozes cool. from the single wooden door with the light globe sitting above it and no sign, walking down the steps feels (what is probably) similar to entering an underground brothel - excitement, trepidation and wonder as to what you'll find around the corner. luckily what greets you is a classic moodlit bar, the classiest dressing bartenders all skilled to design your cocktail, a piano (although i'm yet to see someone play it) and charcuterie cut to order.

i'm waiting to come on an evening when there is live music and that would complete the excellent experience.

i'd like to think this is named for the drug but in all likelihood it probably isn't. however, the bar does aim to be as transportive as a molly trip...when you enter the place it's certainly obvious what they're going for: a dimly lit, small space in the style of jazz age speakeasys. the place certainly has its charms and while i didn't get to try any of the food, their menu certainly did look enticing,
