miss shirley's cafe

no customer servive. my family and i just had an awful experience at missshirley'sthis past weekend. my daughter who is 4 and has an egg allergy. she loves eggless french toast, to make eggless french toast all you do is add alittle corn starch and or milk and cook alittle longer then normal french toast because it is runnier. we asked the hostess if the cook was able to make eggless french toast and she said "no" with out asking anyone. my husband immediately asked for the manager. when she came out she did not ask the cook either, she responded no, we are too busy to make any kind of accommodations. obviously we left and had to explain to my crying 4 yr old that miss shirley's, didn't want to make any food for her.

i love mrs.shirley'scafe. i literally love eating at mrs.shirley'scafe. there is always a wait on the weekends but it is worth it. i take everyone that visits me to the inner harbor restaurant. try the monkey bread!!! everything i have ever ordered has been great all around. the service is also fast and friendly!!! 5 thumbs up!

amazing food, decent service. i organized a weekend outing in baltimore to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday. we visited missshirley'sfor brunch as part of the festivities. we all had trouble finding parking but eventually arrived at 2pm on a saturday. because we were a large group (10) we waited about 15 minutes to be seated, but had some delicious drinks (shirley's crush and miss mimosa) while we waited. we ordered a mix of lunch and breakfast items and everyone was wowed by the quality of the food and the portion size. top recommendations include the maryland crab soup, south of the border omelet, crab cake and fried green tomato eggs benedict,shirley'slump crab cake sandwich, and nana's grilled cheese. our server was friendly and tried his best, but we waited longer than we would have liked for him to greet us, take our order, and return to pick up the check, probably because he had to serve the whole patio by himself. the food was amazing and everyone thanked me for choosing this venue.

missshirley'sdid us a favor. my wife and i were in town for the day. upon arrival at the airport, we picked up a magazine of all things baltimore (i can't remember the name) and began our search for a place to have breakfast. there was a review for missshirley'sthat sounded pretty good. missshirley'salso received a positive recommendation from a hotel worker to whom we spoke.
after reviewing the menu, we decided to give the place a shot even though the prices seemed a bit high for breakfast. as we were escorted to our table, we were told that outside drinks were not permitted. my wife had just about finished her coffee and i was drinking a tea. my wife told the server to go ahead and throw away what little remained of her coffee. i told him that i would not drink my tea during our breakfast.
moments later, the manager came over to inform us of the no outside drinks policy. i again stated that i would not drink my tea while dining. (my intent was to order a drink to go along with my breakfast) he informed me that he could hold it for me at the hostess stand and return it as we exited. that sounded gross, so i elected to just throw it away. after thinking about it for about five seconds, we decided not to dine at miss shirley's. in the end, they decided that not allowing a $1.50 tea sitting at a table was more important than what was likely to be at least a $30 breakfast.

we left and had a delicious breakfast at blue moon cafe.

so thank you miss shirley's. without you, we would not have discovered the gem that is blue moon cafe and the entire fell's point neighborhood.

one of the best breakfasts we've had. while staying in the inner harbor, we went to missshirley'sfor breakfast and had a terrific meal. even the coffee was excellent. the food was well-presented as well as delicious. it's worth waiting for.

don't miss out!. went to missshirley'safter the rain ruined the plans i made. the food was outstanding and the service was amazing. we were told it was a 40 minute wait but they seated us in 5 and the waiter was there almost as soon as we sat down.

everything we ordered was outstanding (chicken and waffles, savory grits, pancakes, and a soft shelled crab po' boy) and very well put together.

i hadshirley'saffair with oscar today for lunch. it was great.
