great place for breakfast, which is served all day, or lunch!. this family-friendly, upscale causal restaurant is agreatplace for breakfast, which is served all day, or lunch.

we started our lunch off with the southern grit fritters, little nuggets of stone ground grits, applewood bacon and pimento cheese. these fritters were definitely unique and quite tasty. i like to think i have had all kinds of fritters, but i have never had them with grits. they were firm on the outside and smooth and creamy on the inside with the pimento cheese standing out in a big way.

for my meal, i chose the b’more breakfast trio of sliders which included a pulled bbq chicken and cheddar cheese slider, an applewood smoked bacon with cheddar cheese, and a spinach, roasted red pepper and goat cheese slider, all with scrambled eggs on mini challah rolls. the bbq was my favorite, but all were full of flavor and the challah roll was the perfect serving bread.

dora here. how could i not order the coconut cream stuffed french toast? oy! challah bread, coconut cream, strawberries and bananas...wonderful for a few bites, but way too sweet for an entire meal. take my advice. share and order a side of protein. your belly will thank you later.:)

great place for brunch. i had the funky monkey bread and added on a couple eggs. it wasgreatand i highly recommend if you like chocolate or sweets. i could have shared it with someone it was pretty big. i was lucky coming in in a rainy sunday because i only waited about 20 mins. service was friendly, fast, and helpful.

very long wait for a table on a sunday morning. waited over an hour for some amazing chicken and waffles. the chicken was crispy and crunchy and the waffles were light and fluffy and airy and with the jalapeño butter it was agreatcombo. so good! we sat outside and enjoyed the fall afternoon. the wait was worth it although the disorganized hostess made the wait longer than it should have been.

food was innovative and very good. the fried green tomatoes with crab were amazing, grits were awesome, bacon was tasty, monkey bread was out of this world and drink selection was creative. wait staff was attentive. we had agreattime... it was a fantastic start to the weekend....

heard a lot about this place so i had to roll through and see what all the fuss was about. well, the buzz was right. simply put,greatservice and good food. worth the visit!

went for a late breakfast and went for the eggs, bacon and onion with potatoes dish. service was amazing and the place hadgreatdecoration. the food was ok and the price was what you can expect.

i love mrs. shirley's cafe. i literally love eating at mrs. shirley's cafe. there is always a wait on the weekends but it is worth it. i take everyone that visits me to the inner harbor restaurant. try the monkey bread!!! everything i have ever ordered has beengreatall around. the service is also fast and friendly!!! 5 thumbs up!

a must return location. incrediblygreatfood (and i couldn't order what i wanted due to allergies). service was extraordinary, appropriate to a fine dining experience. lauren our server was perfect. even the other happy and satisfied breakfasters were a delight to be with. tip: go on weekdays, there was no wait.

came here with high expectations.greatreviews and photos to go with them. waited 45 minutes to sit down. there's a chicken and biscuits item on the menu with pulled bbq chicken. instead i asked if i could switch to the fried chicken which is in the chicken and waffles. i told her i wouldn't mind paying an up charge. i'm sorry but bbq chicken and eggs to me don't seem to mix. i was informed that i could not substitute anything on the menu because the kitchen is too busy. i couldn't get a side of fried chicken or anything. i ended up getting the two eggs meal to try and make my own version with the turkey sausage. well when that came out my turkey sausage was extremely dry and there was no biscuit and my poached eggs were completely cooked through. i also ordered a green tea that never came. one positive thing i can say is the monkey bread was great. what a disappointment visiting from out of town.

let's get the only bad thing out of the way: server asked us to hand her stuff and take stuff from her a lot, but that might just be how it is up here. also, prices prevent most people from making this place a daily eat. 25 minute wait on a sunday around noon, not bad for such a renowned eatery! no appetizers, straight to the main meal: white chocolate and chocolate chip pancakes for me, a nap-inducing dish that the rest of my family finished for their dessert. tasted the good biscuit and thegreatgrits, both relying on the secret ingredient known as butter. also got a taste of both the bayou and the seafood trio omelettes, really enjoyed both! they are a must if you like eggs (unlike me). this place has earned its rep!

all-around terrific!. we went here for breakfast 2 out of the 3 days we spent in baltimore, despite it being a fair trek from our hotel. our only regret is that we didn't make it 3 out of 3 days. just agreatmenu with generous portions and an innovative, imaginative menu. the wait-staff is also exceptional, friendly, intelligent and in tune with special dietary needs. if you're looking to splurge, go for the coconut cream french toast. amazing!

yum!!!. went here this afternoon on a whim! a friend and i were already in the area and decided to go. i had the 'what came first, the chicken or the egg and she had the chicken and waffles. both meals were delicious and looked nice as well. however, i thought the poached egg was a little over done, but still tasty. the chicken was prepared nicely and the sausage gravy was out of this world. we also had mimosas, which we both thought were kinda ehhh.

our server was pleasant and kept our water filled.

all in all agreattime and yes hours later, i am still full!

ate there this morning for the first time and must say, everything from the service to the food was outstanding. it's definately not run of the mill diner type food, what it is, is food that a friend that's a chef would fix you at home. a definate must if your down the inner harbour in the morning and your looking forgreateats. i'll definately be back for more.
