not a run-of-the-mill eatery. excellent attention to ingredients and to presentation. i had a couple of entrees followed by the excellent squid and pork stir fry. the spice level was a bit too mild for me, but easily fixed with a side bowl of the traditional korean chilli sauce which they also (like kimchi) make themselves. food was very fresh, cooked to perfection.
i paid $37 for all of this including a glass of wine. bargain. in wellington or auckland you'd pay $60 bucks for this somigais relatively cheap in comparison.

i highly recommend them - as an infrequent visitor to dunedin i am pleased i found this place.

we dined atmigato catch up with friends while down for my graduation. when we booked, i didn't know they were closed sundays, when i realised this, i phoned them to check there had not been a mix up with dates. they said no, they were going to open especially for us so we had the restaurant all to ourselves.

the staff were very friendly, extremely accommodating, and provided great service.

the food was excellent, and great value.

the service and meal we had atmigawas so much better than the meal we had the night before at another well known dunedin restaurant, and it was half the price.

dining atmigawas one of the best dining experiences i have had in a very long time.

since it was 7:30pm and on the way to the hotel, we visitedmigakorean bbq and japanese for dinner. i ordered gamjatang, which was spicy pork bone and potato stew with vegetables. dad wanted either the bulgogi or the o-sam/o-jingoh/buldak/buldaejie (pork+squid, squid, chicken, pork: they were all stir-fried with a gochujang-based sauce, so basically the same but slightly different because of flavours imparted by the different meats used). i suggested the pork and squid because i thought they’d add nice flavours to the sauce. i also didn’t want the buldak after eating so much of it the other week with uni friends and was worried about th

wow! korean bbq is always a hit, but what they served us at miga's was outstanding. every single dish was a taste festival for your tongue and definitely the best kimchi i ever ate. sides were refilled plenty of times but we've not been charged for it! truly delicious food and great value for your money! also we've never been serviced that nicely in nz before. if we ever come back to nz we'll definitely visitmigaagain!!

after living in south korea for 3 years i was always somewhat disappointed with other korean restaurants compromising /substituting ingredients and a lack of side dishes which is a prerequisite for any real korean restaurant.

you will not have this problem atmigait tastes exactly like it should. 100% authentic.
the restrooms even smell of the cleaners they use in korea.

my wife and i went tomigafor the first time with family visiting from perth. it was our 2nd time and their 1st time at a korean bbq restaurant. the service was excellent and attentive, without being pushy. our waiter was well versed in the detail of the menu and was able to enthusiastically explain the items we were interested in. the food was fresh and flavorsome. i had the moo-ssam entree, which was delicious. for my main i had kimchi-jjigae, which was enjoyable but not entirely to my taste, which is not a reflection on the quality of the dish. the others tried a variety of dishes and thoroughly enjoyed their meals. we were all full by the end of the evening.

we will certainly being going back.

i went tomigafor a birthday function after hearing about them from friends. at first i was a bit skeptical, as we thought the price range of 25-35 dollars seemed high.
but after experiencing the place for ourselves, we found it to be a great dining experience. even though we had a large group, the service was friendly and efficient, and the staff really seemed to go out of their way to make us feel comfortable and satisfied with our dining experience.
the banquet menu which cost us 30 dollars per person, came with a delicious assortment of food including 2 appetisers each with their own unique flavour, and a large variety of meats for the bbq along with a heap of different side dishes to share, provided us with so much food that we were all completely full by the end of the night, leaving only a smidgen of room for their delicious mochi icecream with plum sauce. they also made great recommendations for drinks also, and i am keen to return to try a few more of the yummy asian style cocktails!
thanks for a great nightmigateam, you'll be seeing a lot more o me in the future :)

my husband and i have had lunch several times atmigaand the korean bbq dinner in the evening. the lunch and dinner menus are different. the $10 lunch is really superb value and the bbq dinner a really fun thing to do. we went with our 7 year old for the evening meal and the staff were friendly and helpful and offered to make him a half portion for his order.
the staff really go out of their way to make sure everything is to your satisfaction and the food is delicious :)
if you are not familiar with korean food ask the staff for a recommendation and i am sure you won't be disappointed.
well done miga!

i'm korean. but have lived in a couple of countries.
and always tried to find good korean restaurant.
i guess all korean restaurants in foreign countries have a dilemma between keepin traditional style and westernised or fusion style, so its very hard to find really great one.

obviouslymigahas the solution for those questions.
all side dishes that are kind of complimentary dishes if you order main menu, are definite korean style but their choices are good for everyone in the world.
korean bbq is bloody korean style either, but they introduce lots of cooking methods and marinated meat menus for western or westernised asian customers like my girlfriend.

and i really really surprised their salad.
the salad doesn't even in the menu, kind of complimentary dishes if you order korean bbq main meal.
i guess there are 4 or 5 kinds of vegetables in the salad.
can't even write on here, because there is no english word for explaining those vegetables appropriately.
and sauce is perfect too.

so i cant handle my curiosity when i tasted the salad, so i asked the staff, hes the business owner and korean.
and his parents have a farm, and its 100% organic one, so that they can give me the perfect korean salad.
i have been in aussie and nz for 4yrs but never seen those vegetables, just saw in korea for a long time ago.

so i cant help to recommand all the people as many as possible. even if their dishes ain't so good for you, at least your stomach would be happy because i'm entirely sure all their dishes are based on their 100% organic vegetables.
