miga korean bbq & japanese

not a run-of-the-mill eatery. excellent attention to ingredients and to presentation. i had a couple of entrees followed by the excellent squid and pork stir fry. the spice level was a bit too mild for me, but easily fixed with a side bowl of the traditionalkoreanchilli sauce which they also (like kimchi) make themselves. food was very fresh, cooked to perfection.
i paid $37 for all of this including a glass of wine. bargain. in wellington or auckland you'd pay $60 bucks for this so miga is relatively cheap in comparison.

i highly recommend them - as an infrequent visitor to dunedin i am pleased i found this place.

i am always impressed by miga's innovation, delicious food and friendly, knowledgeable staff. they even remembered that my friend was vegetarian and offered her many vegetarian options! we have had many good dinners at miga and hope to have many more! especially if we get to try more of the amazing tapas. thekoreanbbq option is great fun too... dinner and a show! everything you order is excellent value for money. i cannot recommend miga enough!

we have now dined at miga half a dozen times and it has been perfect every time. love thekoreanbbq and clay pots. the staff are fantastic at explaining dishes and how they are served. really reasonable pricing, in terms of what you receive. gorgeous fresh flavours and lovely presentation.you will not be disappointed!

love the atmosphere and love the food! have been to this place many times now and the service has always been friendly even if it does get a bit busy. unfortunately the food comes at a steep price for us students, but still, bestkoreanrestaurant in dunedin :)

we had dinner here. the place has a great vibe- nice lighting - not too noisy - friendly staff. the prices are good value. you can order individual dishes from the menu or you can opt forkoreanbbq where you cook your own on a hot plate. or you can opt for japanese shabu shabu where you cook your own in a steamy broth. 
we went for thekoreanbbq and chose beef and prawns to cook. they come with vegetables to cook and also a bunch of sides. 
the only thing that wasn't good is that the hot plate comes with a covering of tinfoil so you are trying to cook on foil with no oil to prevent sticking. i guess they are trying to save on washing up time but really they need to provide a good grill surface for it to be really good.

since it was 7:30pm and on the way to the hotel, we visited migakoreanbbq and japanese for dinner. i ordered gamjatang, which was spicy pork bone and potato stew with vegetables. dad wanted either the bulgogi or the o-sam/o-jingoh/buldak/buldaejie (pork+squid, squid, chicken, pork: they were all stir-fried with a gochujang-based sauce, so basically the same but slightly different because of flavours imparted by the different meats used). i suggested the pork and squid because i thought they’d add nice flavours to the sauce. i also didn’t want the buldak after eating so much of it the other week with uni friends and was worried about th

fantastic food,fantastic service and great value for money. the food comes out very fast. i thought the owner was great in recommending other dishes when i wanted a dish and it wasn't available today. i have never hadkoreanbut i thought i might try it after hearing alot of good reviews and wanted to try out akoreanrestaurant.

i had the ojingoh for lunch and loved the side dishes. the kimchi was the best i ever had.

i will be back in the future definitely which i look forward to

fantastic restaurant. miga is very consistent in all areas. great food, great service, great drinks and the bestkoreanspicy sauce in town. i would recommend any time. this restaurant is also byo and has a good range of spirits. its a must try for dunedin!!

wow!koreanbbq is always a hit, but what they served us at miga's was outstanding. every single dish was a taste festival for your tongue and definitely the best kimchi i ever ate. sides were refilled plenty of times but we've not been charged for it! truly delicious food and great value for your money! also we've never been serviced that nicely in nz before. if we ever come back to nz we'll definitely visit miga again!!

what a fantastic eating experience. in can't remember last when i had such a fantastic meal. between three people we shared our starters and mains...altogether 6 different taste experiences. and it's hard to decide what was best. but i think my favourite was the moo sam starter-- beef bulgogi and veggies wrapped in a thin slice if pickled daikon. i started with it and although i had more than enough to eat after three delicious shared mains, i also ended with another serving. but really, everything was incredible. the portions were huge, but we finished it all off. as for the drinks....also great. we decided not to go for any western wine or beer on the menu, but rather settle for somekoreancocktails and somekoreanrice wine...which by the way is no wine at all, but as explained by the owner, more like a beer and also similar in alcohol content. a fantastic refreshing drink that went well with all the food. we will definitely visit again. and soon......

delicious and fantastically varied menu. the staff here are so courteous and always make you incredibly comfortable. nothing but great memories here.
the menu offers a lot of fusion between japanese and korean. thekoreanbbq is so delicious and provides a lot of entertainment while you enjoy yourself with friends.
