not a run-of-the-mill eatery. excellent attention to ingredients and to presentation. i had a couple of entrees followed by the excellent squid and pork stir fry. the spice level was a bit too mild for me, but easily fixed with a side bowl of the traditional korean chilli sauce which they also (like kimchi) make themselves. food was very fresh, cooked to perfection.
i paid $37 for all of this including a glass of wine. bargain. in wellington or auckland you'd pay $60 bucks for this so miga is relatively cheap in comparison.

i highly recommend them - as an infrequent visitor to dunedin i am pleased i found this place.

i am always impressed by miga's innovation, delicious food and friendly, knowledgeable staff. they even remembered that my friend was vegetarian and offered her many vegetarian options! we have had many good dinners at miga and hope to have many more! especially if we get to try more of the amazing tapas. the korean bbq option is great fun too... dinner and a show! everything you order is excellent value for money. i cannot recommend miga enough!

we dined at miga to catch up with friends while down for my graduation. when we booked, i didn't know they were closed sundays, when i realised this, i phoned them to check there had not been a mix up with dates. they said no, they were going to open especially for us so we had the restaurant all to ourselves.

the staff were very friendly, extremely accommodating, and provided great service.

the food was excellent, and great value.

the service and meal we had at miga was so much better than the meal we had the night before at another well known dunedin restaurant, and it was half the price.

dining at miga was one of the best dining experiences i have had in a very long time.

we have now dined at miga half a dozen times and it has been perfect every time. love the korean bbq and clay pots. the staff are fantastic at explaining dishes and how they are served. really reasonable pricing, in terms of what you receive. gorgeous fresh flavours and lovely presentation.you will not be disappointed!

love the atmosphere and love the food! have been to this place many times now and the service has always been friendly even if it does get a bit busy. unfortunately the food comes at a steep price for us students, but still, best korean restaurant in dunedin :)

we had dinner here. the place has a great vibe- nice lighting - not too noisy - friendly staff. the prices are good value. you can order individual dishes from the menu or you can opt for korean bbq where you cook your own on a hot plate. or you can opt for japanese shabu shabu where you cook your own in a steamy broth. 
we went for the korean bbq and chose beef and prawns to cook. they come with vegetables to cook and also a bunch of sides. 
the only thing that wasn't good is that the hot plate comes with a covering of tinfoil so you are trying to cook on foil with no oil to prevent sticking. i guess they are trying to save on washing up time but really they need to provide a good grill surface for it to be really good.

exceptional service, all waiting staffs are super nice and helpful! delicious food and great environment! they really care about their customers and pay attention to feedbacks. would love to return next time when we're in town !

not really impressive food but it's definitely fit for a group of people with a tight budget. took them long enough to set our tables but maybe because we were there early. they did not serve the appetisers and water until we requested to do so. their appetisers are different from what we expected too and is not a wide variety of appetisers.

cosy and warm setting. friendly service and delicious food!
we ordered the bbq and also the korean hot pot. the soup was delicious we couldn't stop drinking it.
side dishes were topped up and we had a really pleasant eating experience.
would definitely be back!

this place is really good. service is good and they can explain the various dished. when we got the bill $$$ even better $80 for 3 people and we had stacks of food as you will see in the pictures. at the uni end of town might make the prices more reasonable. great host.

maybe we ordered wrong dishes... it is not what we expected.
kimchi is a huge disaster and it ruined kimchi pancake and budae pot.
the reason why we give 3.5 is that the service is really good and the delsot and japchae we ordered are nice.
hope they will provide more authentic kimchi!

we had a lovely meal here.and our waiter was so attentive and encouraging!
we had some delicious starters then opted for the shabushabu for a main. our waiter suggested we have the ox tongue which is something we found unappealing. thank god we did! it was delicious and we'd wished we'd ordered two plates instead of the one.
no complaints.it was a great dining experience and one we'll want to repeat in the future.

since it was 7:30pm and on the way to the hotel, we visited miga korean bbq and japanese for dinner. i ordered gamjatang, which was spicy pork bone and potato stew with vegetables. dad wanted either the bulgogi or the o-sam/o-jingoh/buldak/buldaejie (pork+squid, squid, chicken, pork: they were all stir-fried with a gochujang-based sauce, so basically the same but slightly different because of flavours imparted by the different meats used). i suggested the pork and squid because i thought they’d add nice flavours to the sauce. i also didn’t want the buldak after eating so much of it the other week with uni friends and was worried about th

fantastic food,fantastic service and great value for money. the food comes out very fast. i thought the owner was great in recommending other dishes when i wanted a dish and it wasn't available today. i have never had korean but i thought i might try it after hearing alot of good reviews and wanted to try out a korean restaurant.

i had the ojingoh for lunch and loved the side dishes. the kimchi was the best i ever had.

i will be back in the future definitely which i look forward to

fantastic restaurant. miga is very consistent in all areas. great food, great service, great drinks and the best korean spicy sauce in town. i would recommend any time. this restaurant is also byo and has a good range of spirits. its a must try for dunedin!!
