good for gf. i was diagnosed with celiac disease a little over a year ago, and it's been an absolute chore finding anything i can eat at restaurants. the staff was helpful and knowledgeable about what i could and couldn't have, and did their best to accommodate. had the wakin bacon with feta on gluten free bread and was not at all disappointed! i was a little upset that the substitutions forfries(which are in a common fryer so potentially contaminated) cost more, considering my condition, but it wasn't out of the range of what i'm used to seeing when i make gluten free substitutions. huge portions and friendly wait staff. we were lucky we didn't have to wait, but we also went between lunch and dinner. if you're there on a weekend, just keep in mind that this is the short north, one of the hottest spots in the city, and don't be surprised if you have an hour wait or longer for a dinner seat. you'd get the same at any other sit down restaurant- i've waited an hour for olive garden in my pre-foodie past, so it's nothing new to me! if you're in the short north and looking for an interesting try, definitely give them a go.

wow what an awesome sandwich! after trying melt for the first time, i can't understand the amount of negative reviews; my meal was incredible!
i ordered the winter chicken: honey dijon chicken with pepper jack, mozzarella cheese sticks, and grilled onions and peppers. the pulled chicken was really moist and the slightly sweet honey dijon went perfectly with the spiciness of the peppers and pepper jack cheese. the mozzarella sticks were incredible, and i would've easily accepted them as an appetizer at any restaurant. they added extra cheesy goodness for a perfect grilled cheese. and last but not least for a solid grilled cheese: the bread. melt got this perfect too; it was buttery but not greasy and toasted outside but super soft inside. the sandwich came with a heaping pile offrieswhich were decent but definitely some of thosefriesthat "need ketchup" to be good if you know what i mean.
the atmosphere is really cool with interesting decorations and awesome music as well. the servers even walked around singing along to some of the songs. one word of caution: come very hungry because the sandwiches are huge! i'm normally a pretty big eater but i couldn't finish this massive sandwich and all the fries.

not as vegan friendly as they say!. if they are going to offer vegetarian and vegan friendly food, the staff should be trained on what that means.
yes, thefriesmay be vegan but that would be before they are cooked in a shared fryer with meat items. i have been there three times and was given different answers about the food each visit. if you are going to put a vg by the food as it it has a vegan option, don't bring it with things that are not vegan. it gives the impression that you can eat it.

when i brought it to their attention, they became defensive and said, "well, i'm sure they didn't do it on purpose".

its just ok. went on a saturday night and they said the wait would be hour and a half. no big deal it was gallery hop and a busy night. it ended up being almost 2 and half hours before we were seated. it is quite loud in there, louder than what it seemed it should be. the beer selection was good, but compared to other columbus restaurants, melt was more expensive. i got the winner winner chicken dinner and i found the sandwich just bland, it really had no flavor, just seemed mushy and bland. luckily theirfriesare good. for what i can get in the short north and columbus area, there are many other places i would rather go.

overrated. i got the bbq chicken sandwich and there was nothing "grilled cheesy" about it. it was dry and didn't have enough cheese or bbq sauce. thefrieswere good though. prices are a bit inflated as well.

good grub, noisy venue. large portions of good food. my first gf grilled sandwich i ordered out in 5 years and it was delicious! we ordered the grilled cheese options ... cleveland cheese steak and perogi sandwiches. both were excellent. arrived piping hot and had good flavor. we each took a 1/2 sandwich and thefrieshome. at the restaurant we were under impressed with the side offriesbut take them home they were excellent the next day thrown into a skillet while reheading your leftover sandwich. our server was great, friendly and knew the menu well.

we went at for an early weekday lunch and it was only 1/2 full and the noise level was pretty loud, no sound dampening what-so-ever in the place. we snagged a meter to park at out front without much effort. we learned later there is a small parking lot to the north off hubbard with free parking for the restaruant.
