melt bar and grilled

i loved the atmosphere. we got a quick spot at the bar. if not so lucky, you were branded with the name of any celebrity: andy gibb, spongebob, barry white. this is how they found you when your table was ready. i kind of loved that.

super filling, great prices.. for how much they fill your plate, i think the prices are great. 40 beers on tap is great too. we were expecting more "grilled cheese" than stuffed sandwiches, but they were still delicious. great, fun service and nice environment. sitting by the windows ensures a quieter, more intimate experience. the "tofu wings" in the thai sauce were the best fried tofu appetizers i've ever had!

after hearing about the menu and concept, i was excited to try that restaurant. the place itself is very nice, has a good and authentic ambiance with arcade games and a big bar area and a spacious seating area. we ordered some appetizers, one sandwich and one mac and cheese. the sandwich was fabulous, huge in size and very tasty. the mac and cheese... i received it barely warm-which is nooot a good thing for a mac and cheese. the waiter was very responsive and even brought me a new plate as he said that reheating the same one would harm some of the crusty ingredients. so kudos to the management for this! but even the second one was not warm enough... cheese was not melted! i still would advise finding a better way to keep the orders really hot while they are preparing the other orders for the table. other than that, it was a very good experience and i would recommend trying this place!

this is my 2nd melt experience (i live in central indiana) and i will say, just as the first time they nailed it. absolutely delicious. service was great, food was amazing and i hope to return soon!

previously had been to melt in cleveland and this location did not disappoint! service was very good and fast, and the food was on point. we came in late and they never acted like we were stopping them from closing. 5 stars for sure!

melt is a great place for fun and tasty food. despite how busy they were, my friends and i got a table in a short time. all of the staff were friendly. the overall atmosphere was very trendy and vibrant. the food was also very good. my friend had the cleveland cheesesteak, which he describes as juicy, tasty and gooey. i had the backyard bbq (however i replaced the sharp cheddar with provolone) which was very nice and the sauce was flavorful. both sandwiches are pictured. as you can see, the portions are very large. a "whole" sandwich could be shared, and is probably too big for lunch. the food was a little pricey, but it was worth it. we did have to wait longer than expected for my friend's soup, though. overall, it was a good experience and we would go again.

i think this was the best donuts in columbus. new to downtown...this is our best saturday morning stop. after a big morning walk my wife. we stop here for donuts and coffee. donuts are completely fresh large and awesome. diner type environment with very pleasant family service. expect a short wait...always 5-10 people in line. most order to go, but we like to sit in the window and individuals watch. love it!

always get the bread, bacon and blue with spinach. have to ask for spinach instead of mixed greens. makes this an awesome more 'traditional' spinach salad.

amazing. i've had the dude abides and the jalapeño popper. both incredible. each sandwich is about 3 meals!! fries are good, but i usually don't eat very many of them. service is great.

went here on father's day around 2. service was not good-they did not have host at front and linda of rude in getting us sat, then slow service. the food was okay, large portion but more bread than cheese. just thought it was okay

calling these massive sandwiches grilled cheese is not really an accurate description. the bread is too thick and there is no emphasis on the cheese. with that said the beer list at melt is great and worthy of a stop for a few pints at their large bar.

blah. melt passes off dry food as delicious to hipsters that are so mesmerized by the quirky decor that they don't notice they are eating sandpaper. on their extensive menu, only one item could be described as good, which are the wings. unfortunately, even these fall victim to inept cooking and being seasoned by a tongue-less ogre. additionally, they seem to have reduced their hours, officially making them useless to the short north.

good for gf. i was diagnosed with celiac disease a little over a year ago, and it's been an absolute chore finding anything i can eat at restaurants. the staff was helpful and knowledgeable about what i could and couldn't have, and did their best to accommodate. had the wakin bacon with feta on gluten free bread and was not at all disappointed! i was a little upset that the substitutions for fries (which are in a common fryer so potentially contaminated) cost more, considering my condition, but it wasn't out of the range of what i'm used to seeing when i make gluten free substitutions. huge portions and friendly wait staff. we were lucky we didn't have to wait, but we also went between lunch and dinner. if you're there on a weekend, just keep in mind that this is the short north, one of the hottest spots in the city, and don't be surprised if you have an hour wait or longer for a dinner seat. you'd get the same at any other sit down restaurant- i've waited an hour for olive garden in my pre-foodie past, so it's nothing new to me! if you're in the short north and looking for an interesting try, definitely give them a go.

oh my melt!. i have been to melt bar & grilled three times now - twice at lunchtime and once at dinnertime - and i have yet to be disappointed. between my husband and me, we have tried six different sandwiches. he usually tries the monthly special (chicken and waffles once and the new bomb turkey this month). i have tried vegan options and the godfather. we usually take half our meals home because the sandwiches are huge and there are plenty of fries. they also have a nice craft beer selection. i always look forward to a meal at melt bar & grilled.
