without a doubt the best restaurant experience i have had in a long time.
the food is fresh anddelicious(well priced ) and the staff are friendly and helpful.
favourite dish so far are the meatballs - but i am keen to try them all!!

what incredible place! the place was packed but we were lucky to get a seat at the bar. we had the prawns in hot garlic sauce and then you can soak up all thatdeliciousgarlic chili sauce with the complimentary fresh bread. we also had the patatas bravas and fried eggplant.

the house red is light and the waiter said it’s a blend made just for them. all the produce is fresh and it authentic food. ended the dinner with hot fresh churros — so good!

we couldn’t decide what to order so we went with the “feed me” selection. it was great, the food kept coming and gave us the opportunity to try different plates. the food wasdeliciousand the service was friendly and prompt. they were very generous and keep the bread coming 😁. they got a little slower when the restaurant started to fill, that’s ok. 4 stars as they forgot to get the water when asked and it wasn’t chilled, not the end of the world hey!

cappuccino was a bit too milky but still satisfying.deliciouscrispy croquettes. perfect combo of chorizo in red wine. freshly grilled prawns and calamari. top quality spanish food . highly recommended.

absolutely excellent! best restaurant in b-rat. beef cheek was fabulous and you need to order the prawns marinated in garlic just for the oil. it was sodeliciousi could drink it. octopus and calamari tasted like heaven. i will be back again, to be sure, surely.

i've heard great things about meigas and have always wanted to try it - finally managed to today. we ordered the "feed me" degustation. value for money, $50 pp and a wide variety ofdeliciousfood. the sangria was great and the service excellent. highly recommended if you're ever visiting ballarat.

came in for dinner;deliciousfood and great service. ordered the meatballs, calamari, pork adobo and beef and potato stew, highly recommend the beef and potato stew. staff was friendly and accommodating.

excellent service. the eggplant with molasses is a religious experience. the meat balls with almond sauce is delicious. the only thing that has varied between amazing and justdeliciousis the chorizo.

you would think you were transported back to spain with the atmosphere in this place. service staff were great despite of the busyness of the place. we had the feed me option which was $50 per person, food serving size for all dishes was extremely generous and they just kept bringing us dishes to try if we were hungry. interestingly the feed me option did not allow you to choose all the dishes (not the paella), so the restaurant just surprised us with what we had but we indicated what we liked to have.

 we started with the table de emblutidos which included different cold meats, machego cheese and olives which was beautiful and a great way to start. we thought the croquettes was truly outstanding with the aioli similar to the other reviewers. the fried white bait was my husband's favourite, crispy anddeliciouswith the aioli but the fried calamari did not impress as much. the roasted pork leg with pepper sauce was so deliciously cooked, the meat was tender and well caramelised on the outside. grilled whole pepper with goat cheese was such an interesting combination. the meat balls weredeliciousfor me with a rich nut based sauce, but my husband thought it was bland. 

the let down was chorizo in red wine sauce which too salty, chewy and not as enjoyable on its own or with bread but perhaps better mixed with other dishes. the chicken with potatoes wasdeliciousas well but the  grilled prawns and sauteed tiger prawns in garlic were both fantastic. with desserts, we had churros with chocolate sauce and flan (creme caramel).. i couldn't believe how good the creme caramel was, heaven..

a wonderful meal, funky and youthful vibe, very unpretentious and the food wasdeliciouswith complimentary olives and bread! a long lost art! salami and cheese board, prawns in sizzling oil, grilled calamari and moritz beer. $88 a gem, the zomato map steers you to the mall though so make sure you have the correct address. it's right next door to the xx adult shop 😅

what a lovely tapas restaurant in ballarat! we almost missed this place after visiting it's old address if it wasn't for the new address pasted on the window!

we came just for the tapas on a thursday night and the place was busy with a nice buzz. the decor inside are is tastefully decorated with exposed plasters, old pictures and meat hanging above the bar resembling tapas bars in spain. i liked the bar and the bench by the window which is great for a lingering drink or some spanish desert.

the waiters were friendly and kept checking up on us throughout the night to ensure we were looked after.

we ordered 6 tapas between the two of us and it was enough. the highlight for me are the octopus which was lightly grilled anddeliciouswith the accompanied sauce, the slice beef tongue with the cream cheese was absolutely mouth watering, the potato crochet had mash monkfish inside. the rest were great including the slice chorizo, spanish meatball and the lightly fried slice egg plant. only comment there is the sauce drizzle on the egg plant was a bit thick.

all in all a great find in this town and we will be back!

tapas and wine . those two magical words would make this one cross hot coals in bare feet . and if i had to do it for meigas cafe i would not be disappointed .

we has some verydeliciousblack pudding sausage , jalapeño croquettes and salty sweet chorizo accompanied by a tart and robust spanish rioja .

we were served by the chef who chatted to us and was practically gushing with pride when we told him how much we enjoyed the meal . lovely to see .

sitting outside in the summer in dusk is lovely but you may want to book in the winter due to the limited number of seats .

a special mention to the spanish hot chocolate . thick , rich and perfectly balanced with chilli and chocolate . a must try !

a wonderful spanish experience. we read good reviews about this place but could only get in at 4pm for dinner as they had a private function in the evening. we had visited spain in the previous year and went to a cooking class to learn how to make tapas paella and sangria. we never got around to making it because it was quite involved. we allowed the chef to bring out a small selection of tapas which were delicious. the paella was perfect. it looked magnificent,smelt mouth watering and tasted very authentic. as for the sangria's they weredeliciousalso. to top it off you couldn't get friendlier staff. thanks to all of you for a wonderful experience.
