want to like it but.... sorry but the arrogance of the staff (and whoever does their facebook updates - unlike!!) will keep me going to other venues. loved the concept, love the link with flipside and if i can get a table and not hear the bartender talking himself up then i'd go back.

cool place.. i really like this place and i can see why it's won many awards. good cocktails, it's reasonably priced and food portions are generous. only problem i had was that the bartender thought he was a bit too cool which compromised the service a little but overall, great place.

burgers are good - food is not really what these guys are renowned for - their drinks are creative and the atmosphere is pretty nice. worth a hang out to start a great night night. eat elsewhere. if you eat here it is for convenience rather than an a1 meal.

will never go back to this place! the bouncer was rude, the drinks are so average and the customer service is horrible. my friends and i were abused and sworn at by one of the bartenders which caused us to leave. definitely would recommend never setting foot in this place!

impressed would be an understatement .. admittedly it was lunchtime tuesday, but what a complete breathe of fresh air .. perth to often presents unfriendly, bad service with exorbitant prices. the mechanics was that good, it was worth logging onto urbanurban spoon to validate and show my appreciation .. burgers were stupidly good, staff were friendly accommodating and although a little geeky, completely delightful, who ever owns this joint, you have a great recipe for success, thanks for a great experience

awesome atmosphere, effective decor and really delicious food. the cocktails are also really good. the service is great and i'll continue to return :)

burgers from downstairs at flipside are always nice, though not exactly the best burgers in town. but the convenience in this otherwise great bar makes everything more delicious.
i particularly love their fresh pressed cloudy apple juice with a shot of whatever spirit type you like. my favorite is a dark rum

great staff, great spot. the staff were very funny and helpful. go out of their way to make it enjoyable considering the long wait for drink (damn cocktail bars!).
interesting and strange mix of drinks. music not too loud, great place to be able to catch up and still talk to each other. nice place, nice view, nice atmosphere!

great cozy bar tucked away down a back alley in northbridge. stopped in to see what craft beer was on the menu. outstanding! quite surprised with the selection.

a lovely rooftop bar thad is slightly hidden away. enjoyed having drinks at this place especially during summer season. staffs are friendly.

what a great little bar hidden away in northridge. friendly atmosphere and good service. as it was a nice sunny day we sat outside on the decking / terrace. drinks are reasonably priced and food which is mainly burgers is really good with an adequate selection to choose from. all in all a little gem of a place.

a nice little getaway in the heart of northbridge to sneak away for a drink or two. it has a nice feel and buzz about it and very knowledgeable bartenders. if your drink is not on the list, the bartenders are always accomodating and will make it for you, as long as they have all the ingredients at hand. a little on the pricey side, but hey you only live once...

with the return of the sun in the past few days, a visit to rooftop bar mechanics institute with a drinking chum seemed in order – nothing like sitting in the open, catching a bit of breeze and soaking up some warming rays. entry is off lock lane behind the state library and up a flight of stairs. three levels – the lower of them allowing smoking, the other two smoke free – as well as an indoor area which also houses the bar. tables and benches with umbrellas for shade; the alex hotel which has been built alongside far from detracting from the atmosphere adds an element of seclusion from the bustle of northbridge.

ambiance is what scores in this hidden heritage rooftop. all we had time for on the friday night we snuck in was a quick beer and the loaded fries, both tasted brilliant with the buzz and the location contributing to the experience. ratings to be revisited when we try more of the drinks upon our sure to be revisit!
