mccormick & schmick's seafood restaurant

really enjoyed dinner here. a great menu, and tasty well prepared food.servicewas great except from the bar that took quite awhile for drinks to arrive.

worse dining experience i have ever had.servicewas terrible , we waited for 15 minutes before someone finally came over to help us. they messed up my order and brought my salad after my entree came. ordered drinks and it took forever to even get. our waiter needed to find a different job.

bad business lunch. we went with clients for lunch last week. theservicestarted well and we were seated promptly. the server asked if we had a time crunch. he took our drink orders, and brought bread. the soup for the client came -oops. "we double salted it, but we're making another batch" does not help my client. taste it before it goes out!
the second client had to ask for more tea and more bread. judging from the fish left on the fish & chips plates it may not have met expectations, but i was afraid to ask. my salmon sauté was tasty, but slightly overdone.
i'd have to revet this place before taking client again.

very average food at very above average costs.. a very disappointing visit to be sure. my steak was overdone, dry, and warm but not hot. my friends seafood was overcooked as well and the salads we had looked great but were oddly tasteless. if the dinner had been 1/3 the cost i would be more lenient and perhaps go to 3 stars but as it is i gave them 2 with 1 being for the adequateserviceand decent atmosphere.

my husband and i dined here, last week and while theservicewas excellent the food was average and with a bill of $150 plus tip for 2 i expected much better. we started with a chop salad and mixed green salad. the chopped salad was good the mixed greens looked wilted and very tasteless despite the dressing. we both ordered filet which was cooked to perfection however it came with broccollini and that was it, we, had ordered a potato dish to share but my suggestion would be don't serve your steak on huge plates, when presented the steak looked so lost and unappealing despite the fact that it tasted superb. it was a real downer, even if they decoration with some herbs or small side salad leaves, but a huge plate, small steak and 2 pieces of broccollini looked sad! !!. we shared creme brule which was really, really good just the perfect size to share. for me it was good but not great, a 6 out of 10 but a 10 out 10 for mindy our server

cinnamon ice cream. this m&s is par for the course compared to the other locations. i received goodserviceand enjoyed my meal. don't leave without trying the cinnamon ice cream...

no bang for the buck. i recently attended a conference in cincy, and this place was nearby. i ordered the shrimp scampi pasta. though it was good, it was served on a long narrow dish and cost me $22. i had tea, and it was $3. the restaurant was loud. ourservicewas mediocre, and on top of everything else, we waited about an hour. don't waste your money.

good food, abysmal service. we went on saturday night before a show. we told our server when we needed to leave and ordered accordingly. we had soups/salads and entrees and believed we had plenty of time for dessert. wow - we were wrong. our server was scattered, disorganized and he talked to himself and sang to himself. he was disheveled and held the peppermill with theserviceend lodged under his armpit (no thanks!). it was over 35 minutes between removal of our empty salads/soups (and they sat on the table for quite awhile) and delivery of our cold, apparently forgotten entrees. we had to inhale our entrees and dash to the show. if you eat here before a show, get your reservation 3 hours before the show. if you get a mumbling, singing waiter. run!!!!

waited 1 1/2 hr for a bowl of soup and portabello fries. soup was cold and fries were just ok.servicecould have been much better

6/10. the location is ideal - right in the heart of cincinnati at fountain square. the restaurant looks nice as it has a dark wood and green decor - sort of a classy new england look.

theservicewas good. our waiter was knowledgeable and made recommendations.

for appetizer, we got an order of the spicy tuna sushi rolls and the portobello fries. the sushi was okay - i've had better at standard asian restaurants. the portobello fries were delicious. they were slices of portobello mushrooms tempura fried and served with a horseradish-mustard dip. as a side note, i on my second bite i burnt my tongue pretty bad, which put a damper on the rest of the meal, but that was my own fault.

for my entree i got the "casino style" swordfish. it was a swordfish steak stuffed with bacon and crab on a bed of wilted spinach. i thought the tastes didn't blend well. the swordfish was done fine, but the sauce was a thin butter/grease concoction that added nothing to the plate. the dish tasted bland and uninspired.

my girlfriend got the ahi tuna, which essentially was just seared tuna slices. you can't really go wrong with raw tuna, and while i wasn't terribly fond of the seasoning they used in the sear, it was okay. the california rolls that came with it were the worst i've ever had.

for dessert we got the mocha creme brulee, which was tasty. i'll have to also give them points on the fresh squeezed lemonade and arnold palmer's we got.

overall, pretty good but nothing spectacular. the prices were a bit steep for the food offered, but not outrageous.

pricey, but gooood!. this place will set you back quite a bit, but the food is pretty damn good. i've only been there twice, but both times were fantastic. the seafood was perfectly prepared and seasoned, and not overcooked - something that you will not find at your average red shlobster. save up your paychecks and take your date out for a nice meal. theservicemay be slow, but the food should make up for it.
