well i didn't know it was possible to screw up king crab legs but this place did.. but let's start from the beginning.
shrimp cocktail wasgood5goodsize shrimp and plenty of horseradish. $15.99 so a little high for what it was. it wasn't memorable
lobster bisque $13.50 was really good. plenty of lobster in it with somegoodcroutons in it as well. great flavor.
crab legs $49.99. horrible. 3 small legs. no claws and probably the smallest king crab legs i've ever seen. the legs were soggy and had no snap to them at all. the meat had no flavor. i swear they were boiled not steamed. i never use butter on crab legs as i love the flavor of the crab itself but i had to use butter on these to get any flavor. came with grilled potatoes with ono s and garlic also flavorless. i had to add a ton of salt and that didn't help much either. also came with grilled corn. it was the best thing on the plate and it was so so. i would never order these here again. very disappointed.
service was ok. very slow to start but got better. it was 10:00 so i expected it to be a little off.

big disappointment!. four of us ate dinner here on saturday, 3/21/15 prior to seeing a performance at the taft theater. what a disappointment! three out of the four of us ordered the stuffed flounder after asking our server if it would be agoodchoice. he said it would. my wife and i could not believe our eyes given the price and the small servings. the flounder was adequate at best and the asparagus that came with the meal was about six stalks, tough, and tasteless. we said nothing simply because it was our friends who recommended this restaurant (because of the proximity to the taft, although they had never dinned there) and we did not want to ruin the evenings and make them feel awkward. bottom line, mccormick & schmick's is a big disappointment with its poor quality and overpriced food. my wife and i wouldn't dream of giving this place a second chance.

overpriced and overrated. sat in the bar for a bit before our reservation and were treated to some of the most rude, inattentive, and insulting bartenders i've ever been around. got to our table, server was very friendly and on the ball. food was below average. asparagus wasn't trimmed properly so had to cut off the woody ends myself. steak was overcooked and not a verygoodcut for the price. for the $230 spent i've actually had better meals at the cheap chain restaurants.

stopped in on tuesday night... fair crowd... sat at booth in the bar area... waitress was fairly indifferent... no offer for bread etc. had caesar salad which was way overdressed. salmon ordered blackened wasgoodand served hot and not dry or overdone. mashed potatoes way over seasoned with salt. hericot verts were good. it's expensive but what center city restaurant isn't ... is there better here in town? probably ... but i'm fairly satisfied... convenient to many downtown hotels

my husband and i dined here, last week and while the service was excellent the food was average and with a bill of $150 plus tip for 2 i expected much better. we started with a chop salad and mixed green salad. the chopped salad wasgoodthe mixed greens looked wilted and very tasteless despite the dressing. we both ordered filet which was cooked to perfection however it came with broccollini and that was it, we, had ordered a potato dish to share but my suggestion would be don't serve your steak on huge plates, when presented the steak looked so lost and unappealing despite the fact that it tasted superb. it was a real downer, even if they decoration with some herbs or small side salad leaves, but a huge plate, small steak and 2 pieces of broccollini looked sad! !!. we shared creme brule which was really, reallygoodjust the perfect size to share. for me it wasgoodbut not great, a 6 out of 10 but a 10 out 10 for mindy our server

ok, so yeah it is a chain so it isn't the height of culinary art. however they do have agoodselection of fresh seafood and a nice atmosphere. i started with a dozen cheasapeake bay oysters that were absolutely fantastic. great cocktail sauce served with it as well as a vinagarette. very fresh, verygoodoysters. for my entree, i had the crab cakes. the crab cakes were of agoodquality and were browner nicely. they come with seasoned french fries and cole slaw as well as a tarter sauce. the fries were crisp but i could tell they had been sitting a while because they were cool. the cole slaw wasgoodbut clearly an afterthought. oysters were great and well worth the money. crab cakes weregoodbut not worth $25. more like $15. staff was great and able to make recommendations. if you go here, go for the fresh items and avoid the generic stuff.

6/10. the location is ideal - right in the heart of cincinnati at fountain square. the restaurant looks nice as it has a dark wood and green decor - sort of a classy new england look.

the service was good. our waiter was knowledgeable and made recommendations.

for appetizer, we got an order of the spicy tuna sushi rolls and the portobello fries. the sushi was okay - i've had better at standard asian restaurants. the portobello fries were delicious. they were slices of portobello mushrooms tempura fried and served with a horseradish-mustard dip. as a side note, i on my second bite i burnt my tongue pretty bad, which put a damper on the rest of the meal, but that was my own fault.

for my entree i got the "casino style" swordfish. it was a swordfish steak stuffed with bacon and crab on a bed of wilted spinach. i thought the tastes didn't blend well. the swordfish was done fine, but the sauce was a thin butter/grease concoction that added nothing to the plate. the dish tasted bland and uninspired.

my girlfriend got the ahi tuna, which essentially was just seared tuna slices. you can't really go wrong with raw tuna, and while i wasn't terribly fond of the seasoning they used in the sear, it was okay. the california rolls that came with it were the worst i've ever had.

for dessert we got the mocha creme brulee, which was tasty. i'll have to also give them points on the fresh squeezed lemonade and arnold palmer's we got.

overall, prettygoodbut nothing spectacular. the prices were a bit steep for the food offered, but not outrageous.
