really enjoyed dinner here. a great menu, and tasty well prepared food. service was great except from the bar that took quite awhile for drinks to arrive.

would not go back... slow service, poor presentation and the ahi tuna tempura was getting soggy swimming in some type of liquid from the limp, over-cooked bizarre array of veggies it came with, heaped upon a pile of old, white-ish rice. yuck!

worse dining experience i have ever had. service was terrible , we waited for 15 minutes before someone finally came over to help us. they messed up my order and brought my salad after my entree came. ordered drinks and it took forever to even get. our waiter needed to find a different job.

well i didn't know it was possible to screw up king crab legs but this place did.. but let's start from the beginning.
shrimp cocktail was good 5 good size shrimp and plenty of horseradish. $15.99 so a little high for what it was. it wasn't memorable
lobster bisque $13.50 was really good. plenty of lobster in it with some good croutons in it as well. great flavor.
crab legs $49.99. horrible. 3 small legs. no claws and probably the smallest king crab legs i've ever seen. the legs were soggy and had no snap to them at all. the meat had no flavor. i swear they were boiled not steamed. i never use butter on crab legs as i love the flavor of the crab itself but i had to use butter on these to get any flavor. came with grilled potatoes with ono s and garlic also flavorless. i had to add a ton of salt and that didn't help much either. also came with grilled corn. it was the best thing on the plate and it was so so. i would never order these here again. very disappointed.
service was ok. very slow to start but got better. it was 10:00 so i expected it to be a little off.

big disappointment!. four of us ate dinner here on saturday, 3/21/15 prior to seeing a performance at the taft theater. what a disappointment! three out of the four of us ordered the stuffed flounder after asking our server if it would be a good choice. he said it would. my wife and i could not believe our eyes given the price and the small servings. the flounder was adequate at best and the asparagus that came with the meal was about six stalks, tough, and tasteless. we said nothing simply because it was our friends who recommended this restaurant (because of the proximity to the taft, although they had never dinned there) and we did not want to ruin the evenings and make them feel awkward. bottom line, mccormick & schmick's is a big disappointment with its poor quality and overpriced food. my wife and i wouldn't dream of giving this place a second chance.

bad business lunch. we went with clients for lunch last week. the service started well and we were seated promptly. the server asked if we had a time crunch. he took our drink orders, and brought bread. the soup for the client came -oops. "we double salted it, but we're making another batch" does not help my client. taste it before it goes out!
the second client had to ask for more tea and more bread. judging from the fish left on the fish & chips plates it may not have met expectations, but i was afraid to ask. my salmon sauté was tasty, but slightly overdone.
i'd have to revet this place before taking client again.

overpriced and overrated. sat in the bar for a bit before our reservation and were treated to some of the most rude, inattentive, and insulting bartenders i've ever been around. got to our table, server was very friendly and on the ball. food was below average. asparagus wasn't trimmed properly so had to cut off the woody ends myself. steak was overcooked and not a very good cut for the price. for the $230 spent i've actually had better meals at the cheap chain restaurants.

very average food at very above average costs.. a very disappointing visit to be sure. my steak was overdone, dry, and warm but not hot. my friends seafood was overcooked as well and the salads we had looked great but were oddly tasteless. if the dinner had been 1/3 the cost i would be more lenient and perhaps go to 3 stars but as it is i gave them 2 with 1 being for the adequate service and decent atmosphere.

caring management.... i took a large group of out-of-town co-workers (from all over the nation) to this location and we had a bad experience. after my staff and i showed the group to their hotel, i returned to the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. after i explained everything, the manager asked if i would bring the group back the following day and give them another chance. i did, and we were treated like royalty. wow! did they ever turn this around... the group couldn't stop talking about it!

relaxing & delicious. our visit to the cincinnati ohio mccormick & schmick this weekend was terrific! both my husband's steak and his asparagus were cooked to perfection! my meal was outstanding!! most importantly, our waiter allowed us plenty of time to enjoy our meal.

fortunately, unless i get food poisening or robbed at gunpoint in a restaurant, i'll give them a 2nd chance after a not so great meal. that philosophy or strategy paid off last night when i gave mccormick and shmitzs another chance. best fried calamari i've ever had (and i've had it all over.....including greece)! plus, from 4-7 and 9:30-11 is happy hour and the aforementioned calamari as well as other dishs are just a few $......calamari was $4.99. look forward to going back and trying a full meal.

stopped in on tuesday night... fair crowd... sat at booth in the bar area... waitress was fairly indifferent... no offer for bread etc. had caesar salad which was way overdressed. salmon ordered blackened was good and served hot and not dry or overdone. mashed potatoes way over seasoned with salt. hericot verts were good. it's expensive but what center city restaurant isn't ... is there better here in town? probably ... but i'm fairly satisfied... convenient to many downtown hotels

server was jeremy and his recommendations for wine & atlantic stuffed salmon were perfect. we started with the flatbread margherita, which i highly recommend. the atlantic stuffed salmon was the perfect blend of brie cheese, a touch of artichoke, crab and just cooked to perfection. my husband had the seafood trio and was really pmeases with his salmon and stuffed shrimp. he was not crazy about the mashed potatoes that came with it; but he doesnt like red pepper in anything. excellent experience. would definitely go back.
