great pizza, great food in general. i'd been to the park city location (kimball junction) twice and i am glad they got the salt lake place open. they did a beautiful job on the remodel. a few things:
- it's hard to park. you are on your own downtown in that regard, so you may have to walk a couple of blocks to get to the location. it' worth it.
- the utah liquor gods have yet to issue these folks a license for wine and spirits, so you are stuck with the 3.2 beer they serve. this is supposed to clear up we were told.
now, it's a bit pricey for the fare - but it's very, very good. the thin crust, east coast style pizza is the best of the type in town now, and i have been to all of them. it is good enough that we'd drive to the park city area from sugarhouse to eat it.
cheesesteak - excellent. we've never had a bad dish come out of their kitchen in the park city spot - and now the slc location.
the other place for a different style and very delicious pizza downtown is settebello on 2nd west. wood fired naples style - excellent. now, we have two very good pizza options downtown.
maxwell's has a very open, airy feel, with lots of flat screens up for sports. i think visitors from nearby hotels will love the place once the rubes at the state get with the fact that the owners likely spent million bucks to get it open - a huge investment in main street - and they ought to be bending over backward to get these guys a full liquor license as fast as possible.
i give the food a hearty thumbs up.
