biscuits not the best. i saw that it was the # 1 listing on urbanspoon's talk of the town". i thought let's give it a try saturday morning.

i ordered 3 biscuits. a bacon biscuit, a ham biscuit , & a cinnamon biscuit.
my wife ordered a bacon, egg, cheese biscuit with gravy.

they have a great concept and are friendly.

thebiscuitsare not the best. they are rather bland & tough. not hot , fluffy buttermilkbiscuitsthat we make at home using the southern living recipe.

the sausage gravy was good with lots of sausage & a nice bite to it. the bacon was good but the ham was not to my liking. i would have preferred a nice piece of country ham.

the cinnamon biscuit was ok. still rather tough & not hot, fresh or soft.

ifbiscuitsare your hallmark then you would think that they would find someone that can make a decent one. i remember the huge catheadbiscuitsthat were served at the homestead restaurant back in the 70-90s. also famous amos had a great biscuit back then before they went to a cheap mix and now frozen biscuits.

i think "nicole's on the river" on heckscher dr makes a better biscuit than maple street.

still a nice neighborhood place & worth a try.

amazing place! from the get go, i knew this place would be a winner. when you walk in you're greeted immediately by the staff, and i loved that our order was noted by my boyfriend's favorite movie instead of by name. we recieved our food very timely and everything was hot and neatly built on the plate. i had the bacon, fried chicken, and maple syrup biscuit and it was phenomenal. as i was getting my drink prior, i noticed the sign explaining the coffee flavors and that they were all local, ranging from dark to light decaf roasts. we went for the coffee, and my boyfriend had the darkest roast (he's a marine so he likes it black and strong) and even as someone who doesn't drink black coffee, the coffee was dark and just strong enough without being bitter. i had the maple coffee which was a medium brew--i could not stop drinking it. the maple was so

prevalent throughout it unlike most 'flavored' coffees and it was all at the perfect temperature. the owner played a big role in his restaurant, always checking to make sure it was all perfect. upon chatting to find out it was our first time, he showed up at our table with a complimentary dessert (two cinnamon pecanbiscuitswith icing) and it was absolutely delicious. definitely one of the nicest things i've seen an owner do. upon leaving, after ranting for a few minutes about how i wished the maple coffee was sold in bags and filing up a to go cup of it, my boyfriend came back with a bag of it at a very decent cost of $10 a lb. all in all i was thrilled with this restaurant, and my man and i have definitely found a go to for our jacksonville trips. 12 out of 10 for sure. must go!!

love this place. i love this place. i have been multiple times and plan on continuing to support this local gem. theirbiscuitsare fresh and delicious and fried chicken cooked to perfection. their bacon is some of the better bacon i have had. my only complaint is that the size of the chicken can be very inconsistent. i have ordered with a friend and the size of their fried chicken was twice the size of mine. mine was very small which made the $8 price tag seem a bit steep.

this isn't your typical breakfast joint and this isn't an ordinary biscuit. the portions are huge and the taste is phenomenal. we got the sticky maple and the five and dime. the sticky maple was great. the biscuit, the syrup, the chicken, and the bacon were all extremely flavorful. the five and dime tookbiscuitsand gravy to a whole new level. the staff were great, even though it was very busy.

there may not be anywhere to sit inside, but all tables function as community tables and the locals will talk with you.

the order took a while to get out and when we got it bothbiscuitswere missing an egg. however, it was resolved in no time at all and our food was very hot.

i'd go for lunch or brunch unless you can eat a huge hearty breakfast. definitely recommended and will definitely be back.

always wonderful for what they do--wonderfulbiscuitsand lots of variety for what you want stuffed in them. a fav--the squawking goat (chicken, goat cheese, pepper jelly). there are great options like collards, eggs...   fried green tomatoes are a fitting side.

there is a reason this place is packed and they are opening more stores. thebiscuitsare delicious and very filling. while they are pricier than a fast food breakfast sandwich, the quality is a whole lot better(organic, farm fresh), and the portions are plentiful. i had the farmer which had a great mix of sweet(apple butter) with savory(fried chicken and bacon.). hubby had the five that came smothered in gravy. the atmosphere inside is cool, and service is great.

this place was absolutely perfect. it's almost like deli style how you are served, when you walk in their menu is right up front followed by the order counter, we placed our order, my wife and i both got the sticky maple. (it sounded way to good to pass up) and we decided to share a order of "hash ups" after we ordered instead of asking for our name, or giving us a ticket number they asked me what my favorite cartoon was growing up. which i thought was really cool and unique. although my wife didn't find my answer dragon ball z to be. about 5-10 mins later they yell for dragon ball z, and we get our food. both the biscuit and hashups were huge and looked amazing. if you are with some one i recommend sharing the side! but it was by far the best biscuit i have ever eaten in my life, both grandmas and moms included on that list. home madebiscuitsand syrup chicken was cooked perfect, both tender and juicy. bacon thick and crispy, which from my 10 years of restaurants experience i know is not a easy task. i would give this place a few more star but i am only limited to five, it's really that good. my only regret is we stopped here on our way out of town, and i didn't know about this gem all week while on vacation. if you are in the area or just stopping threw this is a must stop!

i love their gravy andbiscuits- it has a little kick to it.  i also liked their sweet biscuit but they would hardly ever have them available - they may be off the menu now but they should bring them back.  i think it was nice to have something sweet to balance all the savory.i am a tea drinker but i like regular unflavored tea and they usually don't have any so i bring my own tea bag.  i'm thankful that they now have a carafe of hot water available so i don't have to trouble them for a refill. maybe they could find a maple flavored tea somewhere- i would try that.

i wanted to like it. service was good and the food was relatively quick, but $7 for one of the cheapestbiscuitsis a bit much. especially when the chicken and biscuit were cold, the cheese didn't come close to melting. i *may* give it one more shot.
