mancy's bluewater grille

we went to mancy's with high expectations, but they were anything but met. for starters, the water isn't even drinkable. that made me worry about the rest of our meal, wondering how they could possibly cook anything decent with it. surprisingly, the shrimp cocktail was fine. it included four large shrimp and some cocktail sauce. i can't say that the shrimp was all that flavorful but they were cooked right and we're fresh with good texture. i had the manhattan clam chowder, which was very flavorful and the best part of our meal. my husband had the crab and corn chowder, which was barely warm and not very good at all. the other complaint regarding the soups is that for $6 and $7 respectively, they were tiny little bowls. i ordered the market salad with a side of blackened salmon and my husband had the seafood cioppino. i couldn't even eat the salad, the fruit on top (all one strawberry and three blueberries) weren't fresh and the green goddess dressing was not good at all. they did take the salad off the bill because i didn't eat it, which was nice and i didn't ask for them too, but it was greatly appreciated. my husband's meal was "just ok" and one of the mussels had the aftertaste of abscess (sorry to be so graphic but that's what it tasted like). the blackened salmon was very good, although i think a high end restaurant should actually offer wild caught pacific salmon rather than atlantic salmon (which i usually never order but nothing else really appealed to me on the menu). all that being said, theservicewas good and the atmosphere was nice. we would definitely not go back though.

good food and goodservicethey undercook the steaks slightly so they don't go over, but you can get them thrown back on the grill. chocolate cake was very good.

absolutely loved it. bestservicei have ever received. the free bread was the best i have ever had, and the food was to die for. great for a fancy night out.

excellent salmon considering we're in the midwest. quality food, warm atmosphere, top notchserviceand overall excellence. what you would expect at mancy's.

great seafood to back up the name. sometimes, the mancy family has resorted to resting on the weight of their name as opposed to continually trying to improve (see my comments on the steakhouse)...but for seafood, this place excels. first off he ahi tuna is probably the best tuna in toledo (for both quality, as well as appearance). this is also a fun place to be on any night of the week - good crowd, with more of an upscale clientel. their specials are updated regularly, their pricing is what you would expect for fresh seafood, and theserviceis very good.

excellent. great food, 5 star (with a 4 star price) and the waiter wqas the best o ever had. i deep voiced guy who always said "my pleasure" when you asked for something. example, can i get some extra butter? ...."my pleasure" and he said it like he meant it. the food along with theservicemade it my best dining experience ever.
ps i am not a shill. went to emerald's at disney and had a horrible dining experience. don't go there. peace.

wish this place was in greenville, sc. but then i'd weigh 500 lbs if it was that convenient. great atmosphere, greatserviceand great food. i stumbled across this place on my way to a "chain" restaurant the hotel desk clerk had suggested. i just happened to visit during their "happy hour" during which a number of selections are discounted. after an appetizer of a dozen bluepoint oysters on the half shell, i tried the "asian style calamari" and it was excellent. and the guinness on tap is always a winner when i find a restaurant which serves it and pours it correctly. i plan to try the "bourbon sea bass" on my next visit since my client raved about it.

solid seafood. after my fourth try i'm ready to commit to a two thumbs up for this mancy venture. 3 of the four times i've had the chilean sea bass and highly recommend it. it is prepared to perfection - they understand that less is more with this seafood delight. the bigeye tuna tartar appetizer was outstanding. the tuna was highest quality as was the guacamole. the wasabi drizzle was the perfect acompaniment to both. to top it off was a molten chocolate cake that was perfectly tender, rich and gooey.servicewas excellent.
we were in the bar, which tends to be our favorite spot in any restaurant but the noise was deafening. seems to be the norm in any restaurant nowadays but it would be nice if they could try to tone it down a somehow.

way over priced for the experience. it's not so much bad as "fine" and for the substantial prices i would expect truly very good to great seafood. and even though it turned out that we knew our waitress and she was very nice, the overallservicehere is very poor & based on what we experienced and saw others deal with, it's the standard here. this is always our struggle in our never ending search for good seafood everywhere we go - most places claim to have really good to great and charge accordingly but we seldom find this to be true.
