texcentric. this place is whataustinis all about in my book, its funky its hip it's everything i love about austin. it's even on soco, which adds even more cool points.
and as weird (keep weird austin) as the place seemed to me, for people living inaustinit's just natural. and you can tell, the cross section of customers runs the gamut. it's true, everybody knows and everybody goes.
the menu has staple café fare, but when you are inaustinyou got try something different. for me, i have never had migas for breakfast. much less eat black beans or any kind of bean for breakfast. but that was the day i found out i like green eggs and ham. i have tired migas at many places since then but no ones version has ever been better than the love migas at magnolia. my son had the pancakes, but the pancakes took him to school. they were like man vs food big you know what i mean?
we have been back several times now and have always wanted to try dinner there. the problem is, its austin! and there a dozens of great places to have dinner. but when we are in austin. we will always work in the magnolia cafe, sorry they're open.
