firsttimedining here on wednesday night to celebrate my birthday and everything was top notch! the food, service and vibe was excellent. love how the food came out really quick. the rare crispy pork belly is one the best i've ever eaten! the soft shell crab was just divine. ordered the vietnamese coffee ice cream and chinese doughnut as well as the ginger creme brûlée, both were just scrumptious! definitely coming back soon.

can honestly say this is my fav place right now. couldn't believe the negative reviews, but could have been a bad day i guess.
food-amazing. you have to order soft shell carb wraps-we always end up ordering more.timebetel leaf was fabulous as was the always delicious pork belly bao. oh my goodness, just so good.
service-fabulous, non pretentious, attentive and friendly waiter thistimearound, but have never had an issue here.
waittimewas non existent. they have strict in and out times, but as good comes out quick it's not an issue. we always go to the bar after for a drink if we want to linger.
it's loud, but not overly. it's funky and you kind of feel lucky to get in, as they are always fully booked and people are usually asking for a table.
only down side is tables are jam packed so it's hard to manoeuvre around them, and i'm small built!
the lady who seated us was also a bit over the top with a previous patron who was trying to get a table. she told her she could give her table away in 3 seconds if she didn't want it.......hmmmm.
pricey but not overly. you don't mind paying if you have an awesome time. at least i don't. will be back, regularly. love it!!!

disappointing.  after reading mostly solid reviews thought we'd give it go.  environment 8/10, funky clean design, good service.  food 4/10. started well with tofu, good flavours and textures. followed by tempura prawn in betal leaf, again, sold. then came chilli chicken ribs. not sure where they got 'chilli' from as we couldn't find any evidence of any flavour and they were super oily. we couldn't eat them all they were so bad. pork belly; flavour ok; execution..not great; fat hadn't sufficiently rendered down like you'd expect for well cooked belly. we both picked at it and left most of it. asian greens fine, main course duck; sauce had a great flavour, meat itself was tender, skin was not crispy at all / very fatty / chewy, but the killer on this was salt. it was the saltiest dish i think i've ever had. it pervaded the meat fully, if you just ate the meat with no sauce it was only salt that you could taste.  again, we left most of this dish (and i 'love' duck so hugely disappointed).  so, very rare for me; i'd normally try a secondtimewith a different dish selection; but not here; there are just too many great asian fusion places in the city to take another punt on what is fairly pricey fare, for a very ordinary experience.

absolutely love this place. everytimewe come, we always get the feed me option and always end up in a food coma. the soft shell crab pancake roll is to die for!! i would eat that every day if i could.

tried the lucy liu feed me for $68pp but did not live up to it's price. nothing special with the food considering the price. waitingtimein between every dish is terrible considering the place was not busy at that time.

this is my firsttimetrying out lucy liu and i totally would go back! 2 of my friends and i ordered kingfish sashimi, siu mai prawn, soft shelled crab jianbing, crispy pork bun, and pork hock. my favorite was the kingfish sashimi and the soft shelled crab jianbing. if you love sashimi you should try it! overall, it was a lovely dine-in experience.

came here with a group of 8 people with a booking but we didn’t get seated until 30 minutes after our booking time.

since we were a group of 8 we went with a set menu.
i would’ve rated this place higher if the service wasn’t so bad. there was a waittimeof a minimum of 20 minutes between each meal that came out.
the waiters weren’t apologetic and it was very hard to get their attention.

came here after finding that we had a bit oftimeto kill in the city. i’ve eaten at nearly every place around this joint but finally decided to go in. didn’t disappoint. was going to get the 5 course tasting menu but opted to get the 7 course for an extra 10 bucks. i really enjoyed everything. from what i understand they don’t advertise many of the selections on the menu so it’s just dumb luck whatever you get. we got a king fish sashimi on cassava, tasty. vietnamese beef jerky salad, good palate cleanser. tempura prawn in beetle leaf, good dashi broth. fried chicken ribs with kewpi mayo, crispy. don’t know what those wontons were but they were awesome. steamed rockling in a fragrant broth or similar with asian greens went down a treat. chicken in master stock, supoib. i heard a lot about this place and all was true. will definitely go back and would definitely recommend. those two broths at the end were really great for dipping your rice into. #tasty

we had the best experience dining at lucy liu. it's asian fusion at it's best.

i'd definitely recommend booking well in advance, we wanted to go on a saturday night and had to book at least 3 weekends prior. however it was well worth the wait. just also know there is atimelimit (i can't remember exactly) but we definitely didn't feel at all rushed. tables are also very close together. 

we ordered the thai fish cakes, tumeric cauliflower, tempura prawn and eggplant and the drunken free range chicken. each one was absolutely delicious - i'd recommend them all to try! my favourite was probably the eggplant dish. next time, i'll definitely try a couple of the desserts as they sounded delicious but we were too full. 

can't wait to visit again!

i’ve been here twice and the food is great but service was a let down this time. we knew we only had the table for 1.45 hrs but the wholetimewe felt rushed with staff constantly coming over to ask how we were ‘tracking’. they gave us the bill without us asking and looked annoyed when we ordered dessert. the staff were slow initially taking our order and should have asked us in advance if we wanted dessert so it could be delivered prior to our vacate time. we left annoyed, which ruined our dinner unfortunately.

fantastic food and service everytimei have dined here.

$29 express lunch menu is great value.

don’t hesitate to take on wait staff’s suggestions for dishes, i’ve not had one bad dish here!

this place is really funky decor wise, very trendy. i’ve been here a few times now and for me it’s just missed the mark unfortunately. service a bit slow, the food here is pleasant however not exciting and for the price i kind of expect more. not much to say other than it’s ok, won’t be rushing back anytimesoon.

everytimei come here the service is prompt, the staff are extremely friendly and super helpful with dietary requirements, the food is a modern twist on asian cuisine - it is super consistent and so so tasty! i can’t wait the nexttimei come back everytimeto this super cool place! well done!

we came for a quick meal last friday night before having to head off to an event. we managed to get a bar table for 2 right next to the kitchen.
the service was friendly and efficient with wait staff being very helpful on what meals to choose.
we had the salt and pepper chicken ribs with kewpie mayo, the peking duck dumplings and the korean crispy pork hock with diy wraps. we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. note that the pork hock was a lot of food for two people (technically we didn't need 2 sides!)
it is quite a loud but upbeat restaurant which is why i could only give it four stars. regardless, make sure to book ahead oftimeas this place is very popular!

went to lucy lui last night for the firsttimedue to a friends recommendation and wasn’t disappointed. the food and service was fantastic i recommend the salt and pepper chicken ribs as well as the szechuan duck! they were both amazing! the only down side was having to share a table as when we booked we were told we would have our own table. but apart from that i will be returning to taste the other items on the menu which we did not get to try!
