had to wait 2 hours for a table on a saturday night, was worth the wait to sample an excellentmenuof asian fusion. you can never go wrong with a tasting menu, 7 courses of their finest. the kingfish sashimi was fresh and punchy, as were most of their cold dishes. the fried chicken ribs were lacking something though. short rib was succulent, although a little fatty, but expected, a little more sauce would not have gone astray. the coleslaw was a great accompaniment. you need to visit and experience this place if you are an asian fusion fan.

high hopes for this place and was excited to try the express lunch where you get four dishes that is decided by the chef on the day. overall a disappointment! appeared to be a good way to try a few dishes on a lazy weekend day. unfortunately only snack sized dishes, guailan was very ordinary and we left hungry. i can only hope the a la cartemenuis a better option.

we ordered the 7 dish set menu. aside from the barramundi and kingfish sashimi - which were amazing, everything was average. the steak was good too.

the setmenuwas too small. i think this restaurant needs a larger "favourites" or "best of" setmenuwith dessert.

upon walking in, you see the classic red neon sign which was a vibe. the whole interior was sultry and a good place for drinks.

had a lot of hype around this place so we decided to go here on a date night.menuwas small and sounded really exotic so we were excited to try quite a bit. we aimed to have a small dinner and started off with the wontons which simply tasted like traditional wontons with spring onion dazzled on top. we got a duck dish with rice for mains expecting to be blown away. if you’ve ever had cantonese roast duck, it was simply that served on a fancy plate. the cocktails were nice but we decided not to order anymore food as it just didn’t taste anything unique. did not have any asian fusion mix within the food besides making it look presentable. we decided to leave after 3 small dishes which already costed $90. would not be coming back.

lucy liu has an array of delicious asian foods on offer, with a relaxed vibe alongside great food, you are sure to have a great experience at lucy liu. staff are very accomodating to dietary requirements and are able to make significant adjustments tomenuitems to please the customer which is fantastic. the staff were friendly and accomodating, easy going and are able to have friendly conversations with customers which makes the experience more enjoyable. all of the food ordered was amazing and super filling! our favourite dish of the night was the chicken bao buns! they were so good, we had to order another serve!! we left feeling very satisfied! thanks team! :)

went to this place as i’d heard good things and it was just as expected.menuwas exceptional and so hard to choose as everything sounded amazing - we had 3 entrees and 2 mains - the stand outs were the oysters- so fresh and the sashimi and the main lamb shoulder so juicy and tender. i’m sure everything is great. service was helpful and attentive

tucked away in an unpresuming location awaits lucy liu. serving simple yet elegant asian infused dishes. themenuand all its dishes are designed to be shared.

on this occasion we ordered two smaller dishes (tuna sashimi and turmeric fried chicken), two bao buns, 1 plate of wontons, one larger dish (rendang curry), one side (roti bread) and 4 drinks cost a total of $195.

the tuna sashimi was a personal favourite, along with the fried chicken and wontons. the bao buns were a little disappointing. the rendang curry was the perfect dish to finish with. the roti, like the bao buns, was also disappointing - tasted like a sheet of puff pastry.

there is no denying that this red neon labelled restaurant is iconic.

prior to lockdown, i had the opportunity to finally visit @lucyliumelbourne. we opted for the 'let lucy choose' option and was surprised by 5 tasty dishes. service was amazing despite being super busy. i was a bit sad that the setmenudidn’t include their popular soft shell crab or kingfish sashimi. however, i am definitely going back to order them!! ambience was truly phenomenal - i absolutely loved the many coat/jacket hangers provided throughout the restaurant and, the rest room area was totally instagram worthy. overall, a brilliant place. ⠀

food is quite good, but definitely on the more expensive side for what you get. everything on themenuis “to be shared” which is funny, because the portions for each meal are tiny, and most are basically nibbles.

venue is groovy, bar is overly expensive, and the wait for a single drink is at-least 10 minutes. beware of coming on a weekend as it is super packed for a small place, and they cram more than they really should. so expect to be bumping shoulders at the bar all night, or being cramped up right next to another table.

a great place for dinner with the girls. not only does the place look good but they have a great feed memenuand cocktails to share. the food was well prepared full of flavour and customer service was perfect. would definelty go back.

came here after finding that we had a bit of time to kill in the city. i’ve eaten at nearly every place around this joint but finally decided to go in. didn’t disappoint. was going to get the 5 course tastingmenubut opted to get the 7 course for an extra 10 bucks. i really enjoyed everything. from what i understand they don’t advertise many of the selections on themenuso it’s just dumb luck whatever you get. we got a king fish sashimi on cassava, tasty. vietnamese beef jerky salad, good palate cleanser. tempura prawn in beetle leaf, good dashi broth. fried chicken ribs with kewpi mayo, crispy. don’t know what those wontons were but they were awesome. steamed rockling in a fragrant broth or similar with asian greens went down a treat. chicken in master stock, supoib. i heard a lot about this place and all was true. will definitely go back and would definitely recommend. those two broths at the end were really great for dipping your rice into. #tasty

don’t hesitate to take on wait staff’s suggestions for dishes, i’ve not had one bad dish here!

food was so average for the prices. unfortunately had much better dumplings at my local chinese takeaway at a fraction of the price and much larger servings. all the food was very underwhelming and the service was the worst part. everyone looked like they didn’t want to be there and the man serving our table was very unpleasant. he would stand over us waiting for us to finish a dish or a drink to take it away. this didn’t encourage us to order more but rather to get out of there. he kept making sarcastic comments to us throughout the night about how long we took to choose something off themenuor eat something. very uncomfortable, couldn’t wait to leave. it took ages to get the bill so tried to go up to pay and was told off by another staff member. don’t know why this place is so popular, we left to go to elsewhere for dessert being so put off by the service. when there are so many other amazing restaurants in melbourne, i wouldn’t come back.

great place. brilliant vibe. totally melbourne-sque. hadn’t planned to have dinner here and granted, we were there early. but the floor staff found us a seat without a booking. food was brilliant. every dish was as surprising as the next. stand outs were the pork bun, nam khao tod (probably the dish of the night) and wowsers-the banana fritter! short rib was great. there were a couple of mistakes by floor staff eg forgot to tell us how to prepare the short rib, small mistake on the bill and it took a while to get staffs attention when we walked in. but all overridden by the great food! and bill mistake was happily corrected. one of my favorites for sure atm. oh and the q reader option to see pics of themenuis brilliant!

wow what an amazing place. the food the service the cocktails just everything about this place is fantastic even the sign outside. one meal was better than the other. the feed memenuis great enabling you to try a lot of different food and sharing. the size of the meals are a good size. would highly recommend!!!
