food here was delicious, seafood was fresh and each dishes had its unique texture and flavours. 💯👍
my most favourite dish was the kingfish and tuna sashimi!! sad to say, the barramundi and scampi wonton was a miss for me because it was too tangy for my liking. otherwise, i really enjoyed my dining experience here at lucy liu and highly recommend you visiting this asian restaurant. ✨

we ordered:
🦪 oysters
🐟 kingfish sashimi
🐠 yellow fin tuna sashimi with sesame cracker
🎣 smoked trout nam khao tod
🍤 barramundi and scampi wonton
🦆 sichuan duck

first time dining here on wednesday night to celebrate my birthday and everything was top notch! the food, service and vibe was excellent. love how the food came out really quick. the rare crispy pork belly is one the best i've ever eaten! the soft shell crab was just divine. ordered the vietnamese coffee ice cream and chinese doughnut as well as the ginger creme brûlée, both were just scrumptious! definitely coming back soon.

asian don't try this restaurant. their asian foods are not authentic at all. buns are just fine but not worth the price of $9 each. i would never recommend this dining place to anyone. very disappointed

seven of us went to lucy liu for dinner tonight. we decided to go ahead with 5 dishes banquet and provided our dietary requirements. one person in the group could not eat pork and one person could not eat beef. they acknowledged that and explained that non-pork and non-beef dishes will be served to the members of our group who had the dietary requirements. unfortunately one of the fish dishes had pork in it and everyone already ate it and we had to ask to confirm if there was pork in it as it was not obvious. we are not sure how can a fancy venue make such a mistake. one could almost think that it was deliberate. naturally the night is ruined. long story short, avoid this place if you have any dietary requirements as they will not respect that. otherwise, you’ll probably be fine and have a good time.

can honestly say this is my fav place right now. couldn't believe the negative reviews, but could have been a bad day i guess.
food-amazing. you have to order soft shell carb wraps-we always end up ordering more. time betel leaf was fabulous as was the always delicious pork belly bao. oh my goodness, just so good.
service-fabulous, non pretentious, attentive and friendly waiter this time around, but have never had an issue here.
wait time was non existent. they have strict in and out times, but as good comes out quick it's not an issue. we always go to the bar after for a drink if we want to linger.
it's loud, but not overly. it's funky and you kind of feel lucky to get in, as they are always fully booked and people are usually asking for a table.
only down side is tables are jam packed so it's hard to manoeuvre around them, and i'm small built!
the lady who seated us was also a bit over the top with a previous patron who was trying to get a table. she told her she could give her table away in 3 seconds if she didn't want it.......hmmmm.
pricey but not overly. you don't mind paying if you have an awesome time. at least i don't. will be back, regularly. love it!!!

had to wait 2 hours for a table on a saturday night, was worth the wait to sample an excellent menu of asian fusion. you can never go wrong with a tasting menu, 7 courses of their finest. the kingfish sashimi was fresh and punchy, as were most of their cold dishes. the fried chicken ribs were lacking something though. short rib was succulent, although a little fatty, but expected, a little more sauce would not have gone astray. the coleslaw was a great accompaniment. you need to visit and experience this place if you are an asian fusion fan.

we finally managed to get into lucy liu on a week night and boy it was a let down. the restaurant itself is beautiful and the atmosphere is inviting. service was friendly but sparse, which is understandable considering how busy the place is. the only saving grace of the night were the soft shell crab, even though the dish had more basil leaves than crab, and the drinks. the dumpling skin was so soggy and starchy, and the filling tasted nothing like peking duck.the pork belly and korean fried chicken buns, chicken ribs were below average too. while the brulee had a hard top, the custard was slightly gritty and hadn't set properly. the vietnamese coffee ice cream tasted like regular coffee ice cream, again nothing to rave about. overall, our whole experience was disappointing and it felt like a big waste of money. we probably won't be back. there are nicer asian fusion restaurants in the vicinity where you can spend your hard earned monies!

this is a shared plate restaurant and they like to advise you that it works better if you share. i tried the soft shell crab pancakes that were delicious. slightly spicy but very good. and the free range drunken chicken which was also very nice, it came in a light flavourful sauce with fried shallots on top. i also had the asian greens that were steamed perfectly in a. light sauce with garlic. the chicken ribs were a bit of a let down for flavour and more tempura batter than chicken. but all and all it was very nice. clayton closson

disappointing.  after reading mostly solid reviews thought we'd give it go.  environment 8/10, funky clean design, good service.  food 4/10. started well with tofu, good flavours and textures. followed by tempura prawn in betal leaf, again, sold. then came chilli chicken ribs. not sure where they got 'chilli' from as we couldn't find any evidence of any flavour and they were super oily. we couldn't eat them all they were so bad. pork belly; flavour ok; execution..not great; fat hadn't sufficiently rendered down like you'd expect for well cooked belly. we both picked at it and left most of it. asian greens fine, main course duck; sauce had a great flavour, meat itself was tender, skin was not crispy at all / very fatty / chewy, but the killer on this was salt. it was the saltiest dish i think i've ever had. it pervaded the meat fully, if you just ate the meat with no sauce it was only salt that you could taste.  again, we left most of this dish (and i 'love' duck so hugely disappointed).  so, very rare for me; i'd normally try a second time with a different dish selection; but not here; there are just too many great asian fusion places in the city to take another punt on what is fairly pricey fare, for a very ordinary experience.

high hopes for this place and was excited to try the express lunch where you get four dishes that is decided by the chef on the day. overall a disappointment! appeared to be a good way to try a few dishes on a lazy weekend day. unfortunately only snack sized dishes, guailan was very ordinary and we left hungry. i can only hope the a la carte menu is a better option.
