....lucky’s prides itself on usually locally-produced goods. behind the patio lies a little garden. we were told that lucky’s employees work part of their shift tending to the garden, so everyone is invested and knowledgeable in the cafe’s mission.

we came for sunday brunch after reading online reviews. horrible! there was a 20min wait. we had a beverage and pastry while waiting = $20.00.
there was no where to wait. it was very cramped and unpleasant. finally we were seated at a dirty picnic table with birds on it, doing
what birds do.
when ordering the server refused to remove spinach from a omelet.refused to do a made to order omelet. then when trying to order a waffle the server said syrup was a additional$5.00!
finally we settled with a scrambler type meal "shipwreck" which had toast. i tried to order gravy. i was told they don't do sides of gravy. so i paid a additional $15.00 for a biscuit w gravy!
when the food runner arrived he inquired why we had 3 plates with only 2 of us. i explained that the server stated they were "dangerously" (lol) low on gravy. he seemed to acknowledge the absurdity of it all and offered to return the biscuit&gravy to return with a side bowl.
instead a behemoth butch man hating wynona judd looking chef/owner returned carrying the now gelatinous plate of b&g. interrupting our brunch and hatefully barking off, "what's the problem here. i stated no problem & asked if she had a problem?
she asked, did the server not explain that we are "dangerously low on gravy" (lol makes me laugh every time) i replied yes, thats why i ordered a b&g at $15.00
instead of a side bowl. but i then explained how her other employee said that was not the case offered to bring a side. (the only polite person in the whole restaurant)
i then stated that my only problem is that the overpriced food we had ordered was getting cold while she was on her tirade. she barked back, "do you want this or not" i said i didn't care. she threw the plate on the table and left. i cant imagine anyone ever paying $80.00 for such b.s.
go to pier w at that price point. or go to ihop for better food. the worst ever! please don't go!

lucky's is a friendly, consistent and quality cafe in the heart of a city not known for a plethora of culinary genius (well, except for michael simon who made an appearance during the taping of lucky's on ddd). it's a can't miss spot for me with every visit to cleveland. the food is amazing, it's clean and the service is friendly.

amazing breakfast!. this is my favorite place for breakfast. the pecan bacon is fantastic, its a must when eating here. i like all the fresh local ingredients and the staff is really good. negatives would be that its a little pricey for breakfast, and the hours are not the greatest. this place is definately worth the trip.

what a gem!. my friend and i were visiting from out of town to see a friend here in cleveland, boy did she make the right choice in restaurants! steel cut oatmeal, quite creamy with fruit and so yummy, plus and baked egg with spinacha and parmesan cheese, and homemade multi grain toast. my friends' meals were equally as good. if i ever come back to tremont, lucky's will be my first stop!!

great food. we chose lucky's to celebrate our son's birthday.
food - hubby had the reuben omelet with goat cheese. the corned beef hash was homemade, and the potatoes were very tasty. my son had the shipwreck which he was very pleased with. i had the hash with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce and i was pleasantly surprised to find my eggs weren't runny! we all shared an order of biscuits and gravy, and that meal once again was incredible. of course we had to try a dessert. my son had a chocolate mousse bomb, hubby had the s'more, and i had the coconut orange cake topped with the most decadent buttercream frosting i have ever tasted. all i can say is that the desserts were better than i have probably ever had. i would stop by just to grab some baked goods. i am impressed with the "farm to table" restaurants and this is no exception.
atmosphere - i was glad our family dined while it wasn't very busy so we were able to get a table and not sit atop anyone. it was clean and we were comfortable. i didn't like that the restroom is shared by men and women and while pottying you stare at a urinal, but it was clean.
staff - the staff work as a team which is a really neat concept. although our waitress was very knowledgeable and entertaining she was very slow in getting water and coffee to the table. two tables of two had sat down after us and had drinks before we did. the other staff women we interacted with were just as friendly and helpful as our initial waitress.
all in all it was a great experience (i am sure the company had a little something to do with it) and my family will be back (there are a few more things on the menu i need to try).

food very good and quite fresh.
late breakfast start time seems unreasonable for a breakfast place.

undecided. went there last week for breakfast.nice atmosphere, very clean and artsy.server was pleasant and friendly.i ordered biscuits and gravy while my wife had the shipwreck.my food arrived in about 18 minutes.gravy was very good, the biscuits nice and cheesy.scrambled eggs were slightly overcooked and the potatoes were a disappointment.the shipwreck was overcooked, the bacon was very good but with the same potatoes.what is the deal with all the scallions?everything was loaded with scallions!i picked most of mine out.overall ,the gravy itself would be great on a sock.the biscuits were fine.nothing else required.very pricey for breakfast but staff was friendly to us.this is a one in a lifetime visit.now we have eaten there.no reason to go back.32.00 for our meals and i left a little hungry.

way too expensive for what is served. eggs, biscuits, gravy, and cheese dont add up to $14 plates and $5 for 3 strips of bacon. not going back.

dddelicious. after seeing this place on ddd, my friend and i added it to our list of destinations in the cleveland area we wanted to go to. we were not disappointed. i've read a lot of negative reviews about service etc. but i have to say our server, steve was attentive, entertaining and knowledgeable.
we ordered the mac & cheese and a cuban. we were told it's best to eat the mac & cheese with the side apple sauce and not just as a side dish, ie dip the m&c into the apple sauce. having never thought of that before we were game and not disappointed. it was great!

the cuban to me was just another sandwich, i wish we had ordered a 2nd order of m&c rather than share.

i will agree on one thing, the prices are a wee bit high. $14 for m&c is a bit steep, with the extra $2 for bacon it was a pricey dish. knock it down to $10 with the bacon and you have a major winner.

would i go back, yes, would i recommend it to friends, yes - i will warn them about the prices in advance though.

thanks lucky's, if we're ever in cleveland again, we'll make sure to stop by.

this was another spot we'd heard about on ddd. everyone told me to get the biscuits and gravy which is what i did. the biscuits were light and flaky. the gravy had this little peppery kick and big chunks of sausage. the eggs were fluffy too. besides the fact that it weighed me down for the rest of the day, this was an ideal breakfast. matt decided to mix things up a little bit and ordered the shipwreck. this scrambler was huge, but he wolfed it down with minimal breathing in between bites. the potatoes were prepared well too.

amazing! my husband and i went for lunch, and tried the pecan bacon, mac 'n cheese, and reuben. everything was done to perfection. the service was flawless and our server provided excellent recommendations. we eat wherever we travel, and this was one of our favorite lunch spots. there was no crowd in a tuesday afternoon, which probably added to our experience.

ready to drive back to cleveland on weekends for breakfast there. we went to cleveland on sunday sept. 23 and had to stop at luckys. saw it on dd&d a couple years back and knew if i ever went to cleveland we had to eat there. we got there around 10:00am and had a 20 minute wait that was pleasantly spent talking to other customers, the owners mother, and some cleveland brown's fans. we are from pittsburgh and steeler fans and they were still nice to us :)! the 2 girls ahead of us on the wait list said they had no problem allowing someone else sit at their 4 top so we did. i must say the people of cleveland are sooooo friendly. patrick waited on us and he was great, so helpful and attentive. when he asked what, i wanted i said i've know for the last two year, the biscuits and sausage gravy, of course. the food was wonderful. on the way out we talked to the owner's mother again, such a friendly woman. it was my boyfriends birthday so she gave him one of their wonderful red velvet cupcakes. we ate it on the way into cleveland, even though we were already stuffed. lucky's was a little pricy for breakfast but well worth it. i'm ready to drive back some weekend just to have breakfast there. i read anther review on here from a diane that liked it and praised patrick. that review isn't me. name and day is a coincidence.
