delicious meats & sides here at lp’s

i loved the low lit, intimacy of the restaurant. it felt fancy but also casual at the same time, especially sitting up on the high tables.

the meat here was a highlight & stand out.
the wagyu tartare was so yummy. it was tender but also a bit chewey which i loved. the sauce was acidic which cut through the rich wagyu.
the octopus was a bit on the chewey side but bbq’d so nicely & had a good smokey flavour.
the lamb ribs that were ordered were so beautifully cooked. the meat fell off the bone & was so tasty. the sauces it was served with were all very different, from being very zesty to spicy, which gave a good choice of flavour to pair the lamb with.
i loved the pumpkin salad, which added some volume to the meal & filled me up.

the service was really nice & gave us some awesome recommendations on dishes to try which was great

lp’s quality meats is a meat lovers paradise. i am not much of a meat eater but wanted to try it nonetheless as i had heard so much about it. it’s quality meat indeed. we had the chef’s menu for $70 and there was more than enough food. the meat was tasty, packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. the salads were lovely, especially the cucumber one (pictured). the highlight for me was a canadian sweet called pouding chomeur (pictured) for dessert. it’s a maple and pecan pudding that is luscious and i think the ultimate comfort food. #meatlover #chippendale

heaven for meat lovers! i visited as a group of 6 including 2 kids and everyone had a great time. we had the croquettes, smoked wagyu and pate for starters and all were polished off. for the mains we ordered the smoked beef rib, and 1.2kgs of dry aged rib steak both perfectly done. the photos isn’t to scale but they were huge and definitely enough to share between us. would definitely revisit.

while initially ambivalent about coming here because of the whopping price of one rib ($59), we wanted to see what all the fuss was about and to our delight, lp quality meats did not disappoint. that beef rib was insanely good. we also got the porchetta which was also very tasty but perhaps a bit too fatty for my liking and i’d probably try their other dishes next visit.
service was top notch, the staff were hella friendly and attentive despite the busyness of the restaurant.
can’t wait to visit this place again!

absolutely agree with its name - quality meats! they serve fantastic homemade cold cuts, sausages, pork belly and ox tongue. it was too dark to take good photos, but the ox tongue was so tender that i had to upload a photo of it. everything we ordered was delicious and can’t wait to come back again.

finally managed to check this place out! make sure you book beforehand, this place is popular. the smoked beef ribs and the beef tartare were super delicious! we tried the sausage as well which was very tasty too. the asparagus came with amazing sauce! definitely recommend this place. service was lovely too!

great tongue, beautiful cut, nice texture, very tender, the fennel pork porchetta, was excellent as well. sadly service was a bit mediocre. if felt like a great place, great food, ran by some kids staff from hungry jacks

meat eaters heaven!!! think beef ribs the size of a tyrannasaurus rex with meat that melts off the bone like butter, picture porchetta or lamb with an flavoursome combinations stuffing at iuts centre. awesome service with staff whi know and csn recommend items on the menu like its the back of their hand and an open kitchen that provides a centrepiece for conversation of dishes (including yours) are prepared in a fashion that its drool worthy.

quick dinner by the bar tables because i’ve heard so much about lp. decided to squeeze this in even though i was super full from lunch, and boy was it worth it. the ox tongue was sensational, as was the tartare. definitely over ordered though, as i was already full before i even stepped in, but still managed to squeeze in some porchetta and sausage. washed down with a delicious watermelon pilsner (which i really wish i can find in melbourne). do not miss the tartare or the tongue, it would be the first thing i return for every time. interestingly enough, for a restaurant that serves excellent meats, their salad was really good, and one of the best salads i’ve had.

came here with a couple of mates for a quick meal and a couple of beers, and was suitably impressed by the smoked meats! the ribs were some of the best i have had anywhere (on the bone, super tender and just the right level of smokiness), the smoked sausages where also nicely smoked and flavorsome. we also shared a couple of desserts but the highlight for me was the pastassio ice cream, packed with pastassio and super creamy. great little eatery (it was packed for a tuesday night) but service was great and friendly, and the place was rustic and modern. price is on the fine dining end of the spectrum but the ribs were worth it! will be back.

i prefer smokier bbq.
the food itself was quite enjoyable but the prices are quite high for the portion size. picture shows prime rib $54 and sausage $14.

from the appetizer to dessert 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 worth the money and worth the calories. the food came in just a right time and the staff were very friendly. we had cold cuts, beef tongue and blood saisage as appetizers. then beef short ribs and sausage for main with 3 different sauces. the last is the pudding ✨ this is the best dessert that you need to try from lp’s

if you’re looking for food late at night then this is one place you can call. dark and relaxed vibe in the back streets of chippendale. they make their own salumi- we tried the mortadella and salami. the mortadella was slightly garlicky but still enjoyable. it came with dark sourdough, a huge jalepenõ, salty butter and olives. the beef tartare was lovely too. different with the caviar added, gave it another level complexity to the dish.
the beef short rib was my favourite. so smokey! i’d love to come back again for the porchetta.

update 29/04/18: still the number 1 restaurant in sydney. just immaculate

wow wow wow wow. i am still dreaming of the porchetta at this cool, funky restaurant. casual and friendly staff are the cherry on top - made me feel like i was eating at a friends home. even the chefs yelled out a goodbye upon leaving. the beef rib is next level - a teeny tiny bit too peppery for me but still amazing and very different to all the other smoked beef short ribs floating around the scene currently. but the porchetta...i mean, it was like butter. i swear i turned into the little heart eyes emoji when eating this. unfortunately i didn’t have room for dessert as i was about to burst and suffering from meat sweats, so i guess i’ll have to go back for it and not eat for 3 days prior.

lovely staff here. i had the gin cocktail which was sooo tasty. the restaurant consists of large share benches so not really a romantic atmosphere if that's what you're after. for food, we ordered the pickled vegetables, blood sausage, porchetta, ocean trout, and fennel salad. the porchetta was the best dish easily. it was so flavoursome and had delicious crackling on the outside. the waitress told us the blood sausage was her favourite dish so we ordered it. it was tasty but not mind blowing. the fennel salad was nice and fresh but i would not order it with the pickled vegetables as well because it kind of has a sharp taste to it! smoked ocean trout was lacking in flavor and did not taste smoky. looking at other tables, the chorizo sausage looked so so good and so did the salami. i would order those if i came again.
