horrible horrible service from start to finish. seated at table, gave drink order and waited twenty minutes for water & drinks (on a tuesday night- not busy), and two glasses had lipstick marks on them. food finally arrived an hour after ordering and was not all brought out at the same time. by thetimethe last person received her meal, the rest were no longer hot. they proceeded to repeat the same 'attention to detail' when bringing out dessert. spent 2.5 hours there on a night that wasn't busy. manager briefly stopped by after the lipstick stained glasses and said "he'd take care of us". well... never happened. absolutely ridiculous service and will not recommend or even go back. food was pretty good, that was the only positive.

this resturant has downgrade since i was there only a month ago. i visit this place just yesterday. i normally go there because my company sends me there, and their breakfast buffet was disgusting. you can tell the cook doesn't know how to cook, my omlette is normally made by a friendly girl who always has a smile but yesterday there was a guy there didn't even smile or say anything. by thetimemy omlette was done it was burnt and runny how does someone do that. over all the buffet is disgusting.

romantic night out. my boyfriend and i went to loxley's for the firsttimeand were really intrigued with the atmosphere and medieval design to the restaurant. their original drinks were really tasty and i love it when restaurants actually include the prices on their drink menus. my boyfriend got the chicken cheesesteak and i got the sauteed pork loin. both were absolutely delicious!! though it was busy our waiter was very nice and we didn't feel as though we were ever forgotten. sitting outside was nice too since it was a beautiful night. what i was really impressed with was the fact loxley's donates 5% of your bill to a charity which you chose. overall i really liked it and would definitely go back again.

favorite lancaster restaurant. just had another great experience at loxley's. i was pleased to see that they have expanded their menu selections; fish tacos, orange chicken, amazing new seafood dishes and lots more. i don't think there is a better spot in lanc to eat outdoors. i recommend making a reservation since the place was packed. we stayed after dinner for drinks and dancing at the bar.

a lovely night at loxley's. my husband and i visited loxley's last summer and had an ok experience. at the time, it was a newly opened restaurant and it was a apparent that the entire staff was a bit green. well, a year later it seems all the kinks have been worked out. upon our arrival we were told there would be a short wait for a table on the large outdoor patio. not a problem! there were three bars for us to choose from while we waited. we sat at the upstairs bar where water runs right through the top of the bar. what a neat feature! a short while later we were paged for our table by the hostess. we were seated on the lower section of the patio and our server came right over. he was friendly and personable. he reminded us of the wonderful charity program where the restaurant donates a portion of each sale to one of three charities at the end of the meal. another great feature! we chose to order the crab dip as an appetizer (very tasty and piping hot). i had the salmon and my husband had a burger. both were top notch and served quickly after we were done with the crab dip. all in all a very lovely evening. we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the outdoor dining and the live entertainment. highly recommend trying this place out - for the firsttimeor to give it a second chance. we'll be back!

two strikes and you're out.... i've eaten here three or four times over the past year with friends so i feel fairly well qualified to write this. i have to agree with the folks that said the outside ambience is nice. the food is usually well prepared but i would say the portions are a bit small. my complaint is with the quality of service. on two occasions (one about a year ago and another a few weeks ago) the service was terrible. long wait for order to be taken, food to be served, etc. on the last visit the waitress was one of the worst i have encountered (and i eat out a lot). slow is bad but, slow with a bad attitude is worse. food took too long to order, longer to come out (when it did it wasn't too warm), and thetimeit took to get our checks took even longer. yes, it is a nice place to sit out and eat but...there are other places that are just as good with better service.

keeps getting better. i was at loxley's for a graduation party and really enjoyed it. thistimei came with just my wife and two close freinds. we were able to get the outside seating with reservations and were seated promptly. what a lovely evening. the service was prompt and freindly, the food hot and artfully prepared/.......tasty too. can't think of a way the evening could have been more enjoyable. our friends couldn't get over the charity program, when the waiter told us how much loxley's has donated, it really put thier mission in perspective. way to go loxley's, you have two more fans!

tried it...loved it!. i was hesitant to try this restaurant because some of the reviews i read sounded like horror stories, but i was invited to join our family for a graduation party so i went. i have to say, all the hype about this beautiful restaurant is certainly deserved! even though they were packed, we were greeted and seated by a freindly hostess in a timely manner. we had a reservation but were late due to traffic and expected to wait, but they were gracious to save our seating for us. our waiter greeted us promptly, and seemed knowledgeable about the many questions being asked. the menu had something for everyone, and was priced fairly according to what you wanted. we asked for seperate checks, per couple, or family, and surprisingly, that was no problem (we were a party of 20).
the rolls we were served were warm, and ok. our beverages were served promptly, as were our appetizers. i thought dinner would take a longtimebecause of how busy they were, but was impressed that it arrived only 15 minutes or so after the appetizers. i had the seafood linguine, with mussels, scallops and shrimp which was as impressive a pasta dish as iv'e had in this area, and very tasty. my wife tried the crabcake, and was raving in between bites. i can't speak for everyone at our table, but the waiter checked back frequently, and everyone was nodding thier heads in approval as far as i could see. my cousins across the table shared a dessert called lava cake which looked awesome, i skipped dessert, as my entree was quite filling. all in all, i'm very glad and relieved. no place i've ever eaten has been perfect every time, but this thistimeit was. we'll be back for sure!

big changes from last time!. a year ago wife and i went to loxley's and we left unhappy. we waited forever for a table and when we got sat our service was so so and the food took forever...... well we heard from several friends that kinks seem to be worked out after the initial opening. seriously i guess it should have been expected to have some bumps in the road when you first open an establishment like this. well we went back last evening on a busy friday night. we were a little worried about the wait but the hostess quoted us a perfecttimeand while we waited we checked out the new upstairs bar. that bar is amazing and the view is not bad either. when we were seated our server arrived within a minute to take our drinks and made us aware of the specials. i went with the sauteed pork loin. it was cooked to perfection. loved every bite of it and will suggest that dish to anyone i talk to. my wife had the crab cake. shes very particular about them but she was very pleased. the presentations are also great. another neat thing we noticed was the great wine selection. by the bottle or glass you will find what you want. i highly recommend trying loxley's out now. even if you did not have a good first experience last year when they first opened, i bet you wont leave unhappy. loxleys's is now my favorite spot in lancaster

luv2eat at loxley's!. this place is really unique. i expected a much longer waittimefor such a large place - there must be 300 seats - but we were seated on the top deck in just a few minutes. eating in the trees is so nice!

i got the "outlaw" salmon and the whiskey sauce on it is amazing. my friend got the crab cake and was raving the entire time. we each got the salad bar added to our meals for only $4 and what i thought might be a puny little thing surprised me with fresh fruit & a large amount of fresh options. i know i probably had 1 more than i should have, but the forest tea is really to die for.

our server was amazingly sweet & very attentive for the amount of people she was taking care of. she said the absurdly large party next to us was a soccer team - what restaurant do you know of where you can get an entire team together on a deck and have a good time? i was amazed.

i was wary of the prices at first, but was fine with the bill once i had seen the meals. the entrees were beautiful & i would have expected the same caliber & price at a higher-end restaurant without the great atmosphere, so i was happy.

we were stuffed, but i'm intrigued by the look of the burgers that passed us on their way to another table as well as the bailey's irish pudding, so i will be back soon!

a night saved. my wife dragged me to loxley's against my will on a saturday night. the place was packed and we were told it would be 40 minutes for a table. we only had an hour and a half because we had to pick up the kids in york at 9:00. after 30 minutes, my wfie went to check with the hostess and was told another 10 or 15 minutes. she explained ourtimeconstraints and a manager standing nearby overheard. he got us a table within 5 minutes and told our server and the kitchen that we were short on time. to make a long story short, everything was phenomenal. food came out fast and was excellent. my wife said the salmon was the best she ever had. the manager came by to check on us and explained that they do take reservations for future visits. we will be back. great bar menu too.

not good. we decided to try a new place for dinner one night and after looking through the clipper magazine, we made a decision to go to loxley's. we pulled up to loxley's and were pleasantly surprised to find a very nice outdoor seating area on a nice warm sunday night. it was not crowded, and we were seated right away. it took about 10 minutes for the waiter to come over and greet us, though he was a very cordial person. it then took another 15 minutes for him to come back with our drinks to take our orders. the three of us ordered an appetizer and one entree each (my husband the sirloin steak, myself the loaf of stew, and our friend ordered the porkloin). i thought the prices were pretty high, but figured it must be worth the money. we waited over 45 minutes and didn't even receive the appetizer. we barely saw our waiter during thistimeso we couldn't even ask what was going on. finally the waiter appeared and sheepishly admitted that he had forgotten to put in our order and that he had thrown it away. he offered to buy us a round of drinks and put our order in again. the three of us weren't in the mood for drinks, so he offered to take 50% off the bill. after he offered this, we figured that we would give it another shot, so we re-ordered our food, nixing the appetizer, hoping that the food order would be put in right away and that we would receive it soon. we waited over another half hour before our food finally came out. during this time, my husband happened to overhear the manager talking about our table and mutter something about "a bunch of kids" in a demeaning tone, which we were offended by because we were not acting in such a way. anyway, my husband's steak wasn't even close to the way he had ordered it (it was almost well-done and he had ordered it medium-rare). the manager came over to ask how things were going and my husband told him about ths steak. the manager apologized and offered to put another steak on the grill for him, but by thattimewe had already waited an hour and a half for our food, which my husband stated. the manager apologized again and came back with a $15 gift certificate for each of us. the loaf of stew i ordered was not good at all, i would highly discourage anyone from ordering it. it was more like horse meat in a tiny bread bowl, in a sauce that resembled cheap stir-fry sauce. our friend commented that his porkloin was okay, but it was a very small portion (it was basically two very thin pork patties atop some mashed potatoes) and he left hungry. we finished our meal and waited for awhile to get the check, which upon examination, we found that we had been charged full price for our meals, there was no 50% off to be found. the waiter insinuated that the gift certificates were supposed to be in place of the 50% off, but to be honest, we would not even have considered staying had the waiter not offered 50% off our meals. the least they could've done was take my husband's steak off the bill since it wasn't prepared correctly. so we ended up spending $75 on three meals that weren't very good. and now we have to come back to this place to use the gift certificates, even though we have no desire. my overall assessment of the place is that the service is pretty bad, the food is not at all worth the price, and that the bar is probably what keeps this place going. it's really a shame because it's a neat concept of a restaurant with the way its built and with donating to charities (though all they really do is jack the food prices up so they have the money to donate, if they even do donate it, who knows). i've talked to a lot of friends and family since then, who have heard nothing but awful things about this place. at this rate, it won't be in business long with this kind of service and the bad reputation it's beginning to develop...there are just too many other good places to go to in lancaster. don't waste your time!!!
