dine...no. drink...yes.. ate there 3 times now...each time, terrible food. i wanted to like this place because i loved the atmosphere but as far as food....avoid at all costs! i'm sure dif ppl have dif opinions but i on the other hand am a pro at dining out. been to pretty much every restaurant in a 200 mile radius & loxley's would be on the bottom of my list. they need to seriously focus more on food quality before i would ever consider dining there again. as far as the bar...can't go wrong. i do know someone who works there & she is a major bit#@ (e.s.) so i wouldn't be surprised if those who had rudeservicehappened to have her.

family of 5 went for dinner on sunday (all adults).  service was incredibly slow, and most of the entrees were cold and inedible. the food tasted bad.  brought out wrong courses to us and had to pick back up off of table and give to the folks beside us.  cost $140.  waitress asked what was wrong and we told her . . .  she said sorry and slapped the bill on the table.  never again.

robin would be proud.. loxley's has the most amazing outdoor seating area of any restaurant in lancaster county. it has a great view, and a nice feel to it. they just added a massive upgrade to their outdoor bar area and now have 30 different beers on tap. they expanded the upstairs deck (that's right it's a two-tier deck) area and added more covered seating available now. so for those looking for a nice dining experience outside, loxley's has got you covered.

now let's talk about inside. the interior of the restaurant has a really nice feel to it as well with lots of exposed wood, trimming, and glass work. very suiting for the "loxley" name. they have a bar inside with tvs as well as seating around the bar area with individual tvs at each table (which someone mentioned before as a detractor for a date night location). they also have banquet rooms for parties and lots of seating on the other half of the restaurant away from the bar that would be better suited to "date night" as it's quiet and cozier. so whether you want indoor or outdoor seating for dates or parties, loxley's can offer it to you.

of course if you wanted to see pretty things, you'd go to a museum or art gallery, so let's get on to food. loxley's, unlike chain restaurants, employs a chef. a legitimate, actual, chef. their menu changes throughout the year as new items are added and old ones removed. they have fantastic burgers, delicious pastas, and savory seafood (though i personally don't eat it, but my girlfriend raves about theirs). there's a variety of tasty options on their menu for all tastes and the prices are fair and on par with most chain restaurants. they have a fullservicebar, and tons of options for beer alongside a drink menu with some deliciously interesting concoctions like the rootbeer moat and archer's arrow. that about covers the food and drink options, so let's talk about how they get to your table.

the staff at loxley's have always been friendly and professional to my friends, family, and myself when we've been there. they're also not afraid to play so for those of you like myself who like to be sarcastic and toy with your servers, they will indeed give it as good as they get in my experience.

all things considered, loxley's has a little something for everyone, and why shouldn't they? they are attached to the hotel after all. i don't think they have an identity crisis as some have mentioned. i think they want to make sure that whether you're on a date, just looking to eat, kicking back under the stars, or having a small party; they have what you need. to top it all off, loxley's chooses 3 charities each month (they change) to host as part of their "legend continues" program where you select one charity at the end of the night and they will donate a percentage of their profits from your check to that charity. to reiterate, they give their share of your money to the charity on your behalf. so you can get the feelgoods and all you have to do is eat food.

lastly, no i don't work at loxley's. it just happens to be my favorite restaurant in lancaster county, and with good reason.

last monday was the start of our stay-cation and my girlfriends and i, along with our 6 rowdy children, came to loxleys before the hands on house. the hostess prepared our table quickly and everyone was so nice. our waitress was the #1 reason for our amazing visit though. she was just adorable with her red hair and genuine smile. ashley was her name, (she must've made an impact for me to remember it) and she used our names as she picked them up in conversation.
she suggested putting the kids food orders in while we decided what to get from the menu where everything sounded good, since they were hungry. probably noticing that the gang couldn't sit still, ashley welcomed us to look around on the upstairs deck- showing the kids the adorable tree houses!
what happened when our adult food came out was what blew my girlfriends and me away- she offered to take the gang around the corner to feed the fish so that we could enjoy our lunches in peace! if you have children, you understand why we greatly appreciated those 10 quiet-time minutes!!
then, when we made a special request for something to keep our leftovers in... ashley made a temporary cooler with ice and grocery bags. not only was she interested in helping us while we were there but she cared about us afterwards and that's truly going the extra mile. she was personable and thoughtful, one of the best waitresses i have come across.
to top this all off, 5% of our check went to a charity which we got to chose! we would like to sit on the upstairs deck next time. the kids look forward to seeing the fish and eating "sweet tater" fries! 5 starserviceand delicious food!!

horrible horribleservicefrom start to finish. seated at table, gave drink order and waited twenty minutes for water & drinks (on a tuesday night- not busy), and two glasses had lipstick marks on them. food finally arrived an hour after ordering and was not all brought out at the same time. by the time the last person received her meal, the rest were no longer hot. they proceeded to repeat the same 'attention to detail' when bringing out dessert. spent 2.5 hours there on a night that wasn't busy. manager briefly stopped by after the lipstick stained glasses and said "he'd take care of us". well... never happened. absolutely ridiculousserviceand will not recommend or even go back. food was pretty good, that was the only positive.

outdoor dining. the food at loxley's is pretty much what you would get at any chain restaurant. theserviceisn't particularly good and given the food quality, the prices are a little high. the real attraction though is outdoor dining. indoors the decor is a little dated. i would say if you don't need the outdoor ambience pass on loxley's.

two strikes and you're out.... i've eaten here three or four times over the past year with friends so i feel fairly well qualified to write this. i have to agree with the folks that said the outside ambience is nice. the food is usually well prepared but i would say the portions are a bit small. my complaint is with the quality of service. on two occasions (one about a year ago and another a few weeks ago) theservicewas terrible. long wait for order to be taken, food to be served, etc. on the last visit the waitress was one of the worst i have encountered (and i eat out a lot). slow is bad but, slow with a bad attitude is worse. food took too long to order, longer to come out (when it did it wasn't too warm), and the time it took to get our checks took even longer. yes, it is a nice place to sit out and eat but...there are other places that are just as good with better service.

lots of reviews say this place has turned around and become better, i am glad i wasn't there before. it wasn't awful, i'd equate it to a ruby tuesdays. my wife got the trio of sliders- they were ok, nut the crab cake looked like cat food. the calamari was rubbery, overbooked, and super greasy. i got the pork loin for dinner. it was smashed, sauteed, over seasoned (way too much thyme), over cooked, piled on top of over whipped mashed potatoes, and covered with a really nice sauce. the ambiance in the place is nice and i'm sure that in the summer the deck is awesome. also theservicewas really good. maybe it will improve in a year, but i doubt i'll be back there anytime soon (for food, i'd kinda like to drink a beer or two on the deck this summer).

had a good experience.... i have only eaten here once. i sat outside on the patio, it was comfortable andservicewas good.

i had the corn and crab chowder. it was pretty good, tasty and chunky. i had a ny strip. it was lean and cooked correctly (rare). i had a draught beer - it was also fine.

i got exactly what i asked for, served prompyly and hot. the atmosphere was nice and a family could go here (i was there on business). based on that single visit, i would return.

keeps getting better. i was at loxley's for a graduation party and really enjoyed it. this time i came with just my wife and two close freinds. we were able to get the outside seating with reservations and were seated promptly. what a lovely evening. theservicewas prompt and freindly, the food hot and artfully prepared/.......tasty too. can't think of a way the evening could have been more enjoyable. our friends couldn't get over the charity program, when the waiter told us how much loxley's has donated, it really put thier mission in perspective. way to go loxley's, you have two more fans!

tried it...loved it!. i was hesitant to try this restaurant because some of the reviews i read sounded like horror stories, but i was invited to join our family for a graduation party so i went. i have to say, all the hype about this beautiful restaurant is certainly deserved! even though they were packed, we were greeted and seated by a freindly hostess in a timely manner. we had a reservation but were late due to traffic and expected to wait, but they were gracious to save our seating for us. our waiter greeted us promptly, and seemed knowledgeable about the many questions being asked. the menu had something for everyone, and was priced fairly according to what you wanted. we asked for seperate checks, per couple, or family, and surprisingly, that was no problem (we were a party of 20).
the rolls we were served were warm, and ok. our beverages were served promptly, as were our appetizers. i thought dinner would take a long time because of how busy they were, but was impressed that it arrived only 15 minutes or so after the appetizers. i had the seafood linguine, with mussels, scallops and shrimp which was as impressive a pasta dish as iv'e had in this area, and very tasty. my wife tried the crabcake, and was raving in between bites. i can't speak for everyone at our table, but the waiter checked back frequently, and everyone was nodding thier heads in approval as far as i could see. my cousins across the table shared a dessert called lava cake which looked awesome, i skipped dessert, as my entree was quite filling. all in all, i'm very glad and relieved. no place i've ever eaten has been perfect every time, but this this time it was. we'll be back for sure!

big changes from last time!. a year ago wife and i went to loxley's and we left unhappy. we waited forever for a table and when we got sat ourservicewas so so and the food took forever...... well we heard from several friends that kinks seem to be worked out after the initial opening. seriously i guess it should have been expected to have some bumps in the road when you first open an establishment like this. well we went back last evening on a busy friday night. we were a little worried about the wait but the hostess quoted us a perfect time and while we waited we checked out the new upstairs bar. that bar is amazing and the view is not bad either. when we were seated our server arrived within a minute to take our drinks and made us aware of the specials. i went with the sauteed pork loin. it was cooked to perfection. loved every bite of it and will suggest that dish to anyone i talk to. my wife had the crab cake. shes very particular about them but she was very pleased. the presentations are also great. another neat thing we noticed was the great wine selection. by the bottle or glass you will find what you want. i highly recommend trying loxley's out now. even if you did not have a good first experience last year when they first opened, i bet you wont leave unhappy. loxleys's is now my favorite spot in lancaster

not good. we decided to try a new place for dinner one night and after looking through the clipper magazine, we made a decision to go to loxley's. we pulled up to loxley's and were pleasantly surprised to find a very nice outdoor seating area on a nice warm sunday night. it was not crowded, and we were seated right away. it took about 10 minutes for the waiter to come over and greet us, though he was a very cordial person. it then took another 15 minutes for him to come back with our drinks to take our orders. the three of us ordered an appetizer and one entree each (my husband the sirloin steak, myself the loaf of stew, and our friend ordered the porkloin). i thought the prices were pretty high, but figured it must be worth the money. we waited over 45 minutes and didn't even receive the appetizer. we barely saw our waiter during this time so we couldn't even ask what was going on. finally the waiter appeared and sheepishly admitted that he had forgotten to put in our order and that he had thrown it away. he offered to buy us a round of drinks and put our order in again. the three of us weren't in the mood for drinks, so he offered to take 50% off the bill. after he offered this, we figured that we would give it another shot, so we re-ordered our food, nixing the appetizer, hoping that the food order would be put in right away and that we would receive it soon. we waited over another half hour before our food finally came out. during this time, my husband happened to overhear the manager talking about our table and mutter something about "a bunch of kids" in a demeaning tone, which we were offended by because we were not acting in such a way. anyway, my husband's steak wasn't even close to the way he had ordered it (it was almost well-done and he had ordered it medium-rare). the manager came over to ask how things were going and my husband told him about ths steak. the manager apologized and offered to put another steak on the grill for him, but by that time we had already waited an hour and a half for our food, which my husband stated. the manager apologized again and came back with a $15 gift certificate for each of us. the loaf of stew i ordered was not good at all, i would highly discourage anyone from ordering it. it was more like horse meat in a tiny bread bowl, in a sauce that resembled cheap stir-fry sauce. our friend commented that his porkloin was okay, but it was a very small portion (it was basically two very thin pork patties atop some mashed potatoes) and he left hungry. we finished our meal and waited for awhile to get the check, which upon examination, we found that we had been charged full price for our meals, there was no 50% off to be found. the waiter insinuated that the gift certificates were supposed to be in place of the 50% off, but to be honest, we would not even have considered staying had the waiter not offered 50% off our meals. the least they could've done was take my husband's steak off the bill since it wasn't prepared correctly. so we ended up spending $75 on three meals that weren't very good. and now we have to come back to this place to use the gift certificates, even though we have no desire. my overall assessment of the place is that theserviceis pretty bad, the food is not at all worth the price, and that the bar is probably what keeps this place going. it's really a shame because it's a neat concept of a restaurant with the way its built and with donating to charities (though all they really do is jack the food prices up so they have the money to donate, if they even do donate it, who knows). i've talked to a lot of friends and family since then, who have heard nothing but awful things about this place. at this rate, it won't be in business long with this kind ofserviceand the bad reputation it's beginning to develop...there are just too many other good places to go to in lancaster. don't waste your time!!!

great experience. wow.. what a concept... more than expected. my sister and i went to lunch and sat outdoors finally had a nice day to do that so we were greeted at the door and promptly sat. the waitress arrived within moments she took our drink order and told us the specials. we received our drinks and proceeded to order.. the food arrived and was delicious prepared as order.. as i don't like mushrooms i asked them to hold them. we lingered over lunch and then ordered dessert all i can say is yum!! along with a beautiful presentation.serviceand management stopped by several times to check on us as well... then the best part when the check came and we were told about the donation portion what a great concept.. caring about the community
we will definantely be back!!! thank you
