wow - pleasantly surprised. we chose this place on a whim, because we were stuck in sandy and starving. it was late for dinner after 9:00, but when we walked in, we didn't get that dreaded late night scowl; instead we were greeted with smiles, open seats and delicious cocktails soon thereafter. they provide a delicious, roasted salsa and a very light and tasty, cilantro, tomatillo guacamole with chips for every table. the menu is very extensive and loaded with unique and delicous entrees. they have stuffed, deep fried avocados! (didn't try them, but they sound good!) they have chile rellenos stuffed with meat and cheese (another unique offering for most mexican restaurants in the area), but i didn't try them either. we ordered chalupas, with ranchero chicken. these are generously topped with purple cabbage, avocado, cotija, tomatoes and crema fresca served with this fresh, garlicky salsa on the side. we also ordered a mixed platter, el sabroso with four cheese (uber decadant) enchilada, a steak burrito, carnitas, and homemade corn tortillas. all the meat was perfectly seasoned, cooked to tender perfection and pretty amazing overall. the homemade corn tortillas were fantastic, even the beans and rice were very well done. this is agreataddition to the mexican restaurant scene in the salt lake valley. i will go there again. there is something on the menu for any diner.

good food,greatatmosphere!. in short... the indoor and outdoor environments are fantastic. the food was great. tasty fresh chips and salsa. excellent desserts!

is it just me or are most mexican restaurants pretty dumpy? los cucos is a breath of fresh air in this regard. clean, tidy, nice decor, and very nice tvs with the nba playoffs on in the background. the service was great. my waitress never let my dr. pepper go empty the entire time i was there. i likely had 7 or 8 refills and she was always handy with another. the food was very fresh and tasty. i have never had a fried avacado before and it was wonderful. the desserts were exceptionally good. thanks los cucos, will return!

lunch at los cucos. our waiters name was angel and he was fabulous. very attentive and kind. our food was very good gluten free. he even sent home additional salsa and guacamole.greatexperience.

my wife and i had lunch at los cucos today ad were both very happy.
we were seated in the bar area that has agreatatmosphere with the mexican party music playing loud, i felt like i was at mango mango or señor frogs having margaritas and chips with salsa...... until they sat 2 tables with children in the bar area, so that kind of ruined it for us. it would be nice if they would try not to seat children in the bar.
the food was exelent, the service was fantastic and the value is good.
i like the beef gravy sauce on the enchiladas.
i would recommend and we will be back.

what agreatrestaurant! we had the best server and very attentive service. they have agreatcocktail menu and some very unique items on the menu. this is not your typical utah mexican food. i will definitely be back.

the food wasgreatand the price was food. we only waited about 10 min to get seated. the service was great. my wife had the chimichanga and said it was dry, but the flavor of the chicken was good

if you want good mexican food and horrible service ask for caesar to wait on you. we went in tonight with a party of 4 and left very disappointed. caesar was more concerned with his co - worker party on the patio then taking care of his last table. if it wasnt for another server cohearsing him to help us and backing him up while he was out on the patio eating and drinking with his off duty worker buddy's, we might not have got served at all . besides, just taking forever with every aspect of our meal and forgetting orders, he told us they were out of corn tortillas . (after the food arrived) my wife was furious because she can't eat gluten . no surprise that when we asked for the manager the server pulled him from the worker party on the patio. the manager proceeded to apologize , then tell us they did have corn tortillas. (greatnow caesar is a liar too) well to late meals done and paid for and all we get is a sorry . thanks los cucos. if it wasn't for agreatlocation i don't think this restaurant could survive treating it's guest this way.

this place has one of the best chimichangas i’ve ever had. super delicious. i would highly recommend it! the service wasgreattoo! i wish there wasn’t a character limit!! ugh! haha

keep driving.... the chips and fiery salsa were the best part, so do the math. my meal had shredded cheese, while my wife's had what looked and tasted like melted velveeta...wth? agreatcorner location doesn't meangreatfood...

my gf and i wanted to try a new mexican place that we hadn't before...we are very impressed with los cucos! the menu has agreatvariety of choices and is reasonably priced for the larger portions you receive. the service was great, very nice staff, wasn't over attentive and was able to answer all questions about the food. if i could rate this visit on a scale of 1-10 i'd give it an 11! i'll be coming back to try more items and will upload pics as i do.

great food ,greatservice. apparently the lady who asked "is all they have is mexican food" does not understand, it is a tex mex restaurant !!!! i i guess that she just is not too bright. i have been there 5 times now and have been very happy with everything. oh, by the way, they have a 5 page menu and no they do no have red lobster or olive garden.

great! great! great. this mexican eatery is classic, friendly and hasgreatfood. if there was a rating system , i would give it a 5*. the noise from the kitchen is often distracting but overall i give this restaurant high marks. welcome to utah, los cucos.

crap. i should have acknowledged the warning signs...morbidly obese people exiting and entering, seated quickly with literally no wait. the service wasgreatbut that's about it. the food was not fresh and it was highly processed trash (stuff that fat people enjoy). i was very disappointed with the food and will never return. the cheese used on my wife's enchilada was basically velveeta with chopped peppers in it. my shrimp taco, horrid! the shrimp was disgusting and not fresh at all...the sauce in the taco literally made me gag and i couldn't finish it. we ate a quarter of our meal and asked for our check. the topic of conversation for the next 30 minutes was revolved around how terrible the food was. again, the service was excellent but that's about it. avoid at all costs. even beto's is better.

thanks for coming to utah!. my wife and i used to go to los cucos all the time in houston,tx. so when we saw they built one here we were. estatic. since they've opened one here we go here at least once a week. we thought the menu may change since they were opening it in different state. but it didn't. the dishes are exactly how we've remembered them. if you are looking for fresh andgreatmexican food than you can't do any better than los cucos! as they say in utah. "you've gotta love it baby!"
