good food, great atmosphere!. in short... the indoor and outdoor environments are fantastic. thefoodwas great. tasty fresh chips and salsa. excellent desserts!

is it just me or are most mexican restaurants pretty dumpy? los cucos is a breath of fresh air in this regard. clean, tidy, nice decor, and very nice tvs with the nba playoffs on in the background. the service was great. my waitress never let my dr. pepper go empty the entire time i was there. i likely had 7 or 8 refills and she was always handy with another. thefoodwas very fresh and tasty. i have never had a fried avacado before and it was wonderful. the desserts were exceptionally good. thanks los cucos, will return!

i've been here a couple times and thefoodand service have been great. the portions are huge, so they justify the price. they also have drink specials on certain days, i think monday and tuesday is $2 margarita day!

my wife and i had lunch at los cucos today ad were both very happy.
we were seated in the bar area that has a great atmosphere with the mexican party music playing loud, i felt like i was at mango mango or señor frogs having margaritas and chips with salsa...... until they sat 2 tables with children in the bar area, so that kind of ruined it for us. it would be nice if they would try not to seat children in the bar.
thefoodwas exelent, the service was fantastic and the value is good.
i like the beef gravy sauce on the enchiladas.
i would recommend and we will be back.

los cucos is awesome!!. los cocus is a houston, texas based restaurant. it is a very popular chain in several of the large texas cities. i am from houston and have been to los cucos many times. when our family goes to visit houston, los cucos is always our first stop. the type of mexicanfoodyou are eating is called tex-mex. utah doesn't have very many good mexican restaurants so this one is going to be very popular. my waited yesterday told me that the plan is to open four more in the next year. the stuffed avocado is very good and what i get every time i go. the fajitas are also very good. spread the word to your friends about this wonderful houston based restaurant.

horrible. i have never ever left a restaurant after ordering. last night i did. service was horrible but thefoodwas worse. we ordered queso dip. when it came it was the neon orange "cheese" that comes in a can. my daughters quesadilla had the same neon cheese. my chimichanga came out dry. nothing on top. when i said something to the manager about the cheese he guaranteed me it wasn't from a can and thinking about it, he may be right. it may have come from a bag. save your money. quick trip or the local gas station carries the same food. cheaper and quicker i'm sure. we didn't eat any of thefoodafter tasting the disgusting nacho cheese.

if you want good mexicanfoodand horrible service ask for caesar to wait on you. we went in tonight with a party of 4 and left very disappointed. caesar was more concerned with his co - worker party on the patio then taking care of his last table. if it wasnt for another server cohearsing him to help us and backing him up while he was out on the patio eating and drinking with his off duty worker buddy's, we might not have got served at all . besides, just taking forever with every aspect of our meal and forgetting orders, he told us they were out of corn tortillas . (after thefoodarrived) my wife was furious because she can't eat gluten . no surprise that when we asked for the manager the server pulled him from the worker party on the patio. the manager proceeded to apologize , then tell us they did have corn tortillas. ( great now caesar is a liar too) well to late meals done and paid for and all we get is a sorry . thanks los cucos. if it wasn't for a great location i don't think this restaurant could survive treating it's guest this way.

it all depends on what you order and who your server is. i've had mostly good experiences here but after a few that were just meh, i've learned that it's all about what you order and which server you get.

as far as thefoodgoes, the big grill that can be shared is great, the el mano is great, the stuffed avocado is pretty good too. anything that says it is a "tostada" is really not a tostada. it's a fried puffy thing with some melted velveeta sauce on it. ask questions and really read the menu because there are some big hits but also some serious misses.

as far as servers go, ask for alex. she is fantastic, attentive, funny and overall fabulous -- unless you're a crappy tipper, then don't ask for her because you don't deserve her. :)

poor customer service. i've been to this restaurant twice to dine in. the restaurant is nice, the staff is friendly, thefoodwas good. the problem i had was with a take-out order. i ordered one thing and got home (30 miles distant) to find that it was not what i ordered and in fact was something i could not eat. i had spent $23.00 on this meal just to feed it to my dog. (i also wondered why it was this expensive but was not given a receipt to check it!) i was very disappointed. i understand that mistakes happen, but the management merely paid lip service to 'making it right.' she offered to send a certificate for a complimentary dinner (not really complimentary since i already paid for it technically) i never heard from her, she never requested my contact information. i asked her if she would like my e-mail address to send the certificate to which she said, "yes maybe that would be easier." naturally she never sent it. i would rather they give an insincere apology and leave it at that, than to say they want to make it right and then do nothing.

patriot, spring, tx. last week we traveled from houston to utah for byu graduation, we were at the mall in sandy and spotted a los cucos mexican cafe across the street
(los cucos' home is houston) so we had to go get our mexicanfoodfix.
we were not disappointed ! the yummy green salsa was just a tasty in sandy as it is in texas, and the deep fried stuffed avacado's are to die for.
the service was friendly and prompt. it was sooo good we were back again
in two days. we enjoyed the los cucos experience !

had velveta cheese for enchiladas. the chips and salsa were good, and the tamales were alright. it was ok.

-----25 jul, 2012-----

looks good, but.... the place looks good, however they have slow service....and thefooddoesn't taste very good. my chili cheese enchilada's were made with velveeta cheese, which should never happen in any mexican restaurant. the chips and salsa was okay, and didn't really have any negative about them. the tamales i tried weren't terrible, and the chicken taco i tried didn't taste good at all. you are better off spending your money at los glorias, red iguana or even la frontera across the street. i wasn't impressed.

we had a very nice time here watching the end of a final four game with friends and family. chips and salsa here were standouts. chips arrived warmed and the salsa was robust with a smokey roasted flavor. my wife and i had a late lunch so we shared an order of their stuffed avocado which was excellent. definitely not an authentic mexican entree but innovative and fun to eat. service was excellent. their guacamole was made table-side to order where you're able to customize the ingredients. everyone else'sfoodwas also excellent.

i'll be back again soon and have recommended this to family and friends.
