average. the menu is ok but is a little overpriced. its another bogan pub with pokies that has had a renovation and is trying to be something it is not.

don't eat here if you have celiac disease. they can't get a gluten free meal right. went back up there with proof and feeling sick and they did nothing

went there for dinner last month and really enjoyed my meal (i had the sesame tuna). went there last weekend and my meal was horrible and took ages to come out. the other people on my table were also equally disappointed with their meals. service was very slow and found a couple of the waitstaff to be very unknowledgable. will not be going back.

taster. a group of 10 went to lord of the isles sunday night .they were very busy as father's day but we were very happy with the meals and the service. my husband had seafood chowder and said it was the best he'd had.two of my
daughters had the tuna dish and said it was lovely.i've read some reviews on
lord of the isles lately that weren't that good but we had no complaints at all.

beautiful ambiance and lovely waitresses. garlic bread was beautiful and very prompt service throughout the night. scotch fillet was absolutely amazing very tender, and mash was extremely creamy to match the peppercorn sauce. king george fish and chips were very plain, batter very oily (didnt eat it) and salad plain as well. no better than a fish and chip shop but paid $33. overall would go back for the steak (however pricey at $34). would have been nice to see more variety on the menu there wasn't one salad which was disappointing and only one pasta. 6/10 overall

boring pub food. noisy place. the meals here took over 30 minutes to come out and when they did arrive they were lukewarm. we had the chicken schnitzels and they were completely dry not to mention overpriced for what they were. won't be back.

overpriced and bland. this pub charges restaurant prices for what is very bland food. i ordered crumbed lamb cutlets with mashed potato and peas served with onion gravy. there was far too much mash potato and it was dry and lacking salt. the cutlets were cooked through - would have preferred medium rare - and full of gristle. the flavour of the meat was also overwhelmed by thick oily crumbs. the dish was $27 or $29 (can't remember exactly). for that much i could get a napier hotel parma and a pot in melbourne. very disappointed.

bring your microwave!!. nice venue, lovely staff who served us (shout out to luke the waiter for exemplary service!!) however really really disappointed with our meal! one meal was cold and very little on the plate for $30, the menu said chicken breast stuffed with macadamia but i didn't taste that at all and there was no 'crunch' to the filling, chicken was dry and the polenta tasted like it came straight from the fridge while the mushrooms were cold and a bit slimy! the other meal was burnt on the bottom and twice the normal price for a parmigiana. on the way out the waitress was so busy talking we had to squeeze past her to get out the door, and then she bumped into us!! we won't be returning!!

this is one of favourite places in geelong. great venue, beautiful food, and friendly staff. have not been disappointed yet. always a winner with our family. we will return again.

attended a whisky night on wednesday and couldn't have been more impressed with the presentation and the matched menu. still thinking about the beef cheek. another wonderful event and satisfied regular customer.

tried loi for fathers day after hearing so much about it on 3aw, they lost our booking, forgot a meal, gave us the wrong dessert and struggled to understand a decaf latte. the mixed grill, when it finally arrived, contained an inedible piece of steak full of gristle. staff had no idea, and all hid when we were leaving. very disappointed.

mutton dressed as lamb. the website and menu make the food sound a lot better than it actually is. we ordered tapas thinking it would be good to try a few things but overall very ordinary. this is definitely a bistro not a restaurant and the food was definitely not freshly prepared. chips were those soft powdery frozen type, calamari overcooked in something that tasted like spare rib batter, arancini tasted like it had been in the fridge/freezer for a very long time before cooking, i couldn't finish my thai fish cake it was that ordinary, and the peking duck spring rolls did not have any taste that resembled peking duck whatsoever. disappopointing and expensive. the beer was cold and the table service relatively friendly but you had to go to the bar to order a glass of wine.

poor lunch review. hi - three adults and 1 child attended the lord of the isles hotel yesterday for lunch. the prices of each lunch were well above what is generally expected in geelong, especially given the quality of the products. the ceasar salad was 'messy' inpresentation - the bacon pieces like charcoal and inedible. the second lunch - whiting - consisted of two tiny filletsw (i would question whether the fish was 'size'). poorly presented salad and the chips were cold. the other lunch was definitely two entree sizes - entrees for a child. again the salad was poorly presented and the bacon like charcoal in the mini ceasar salad. the childs calamari ws (heavens above), just that awful processed white fish (if it could be called fish). as long term patrons of the lord of the isles out lunch reinforced the decision we made some months ago that it is a) too expensive for what is provided. i need to note that the service was okay - that's because of the limited number of patrons. as an aside, as a lunch venue the interior is incredibly dark. okay for an evening meal, but more is expected at lunch. we were extremely disappointed and won't be attending again.

disappointing. i have been to lord of the isles a few times now and i will never go back again! the service is not as good as it used to be and i found out tonight that they have a employed a new chef hence why i will not be returning. our food was terrible, there was a basket of chips that we disgusting (how hard is it to get chips right?) the beef, lamb and duck did not taste good at all. when paying i wasn't even asked how our food was. we both left very disappointed with the food and service. i will not be recommending this place to anyone again.
