best meal ive had in a long time!!! i can't wait to go back!!!! i had the rip eye and it was fantastic! the golden syrup dumplings were different... but still nice! my husband had the sorbet - i couldnt figure out which flavours were which though! it still tasted nice!

mutton dressed as lamb. my family and i (quite a large booking) ate here this easter. first of all i would like to say the venue looks very nice, and our food arrived fairly quickly. however there is a big problem with lord of the isles, mainly being its price and quality of food.

lord of the isles seems to be harbouring under the delusion that it is an upscale restaurant, believing it's food to be 'fine dining' when in fact it is counter meals at best. there is a certain expectation when one is paying upwards of 30 dollars for a main meal and that is one of quality and service. neither of which are present here. the food is sloppily presented in the style we've all become accustomed to of pubs but i haven't paid 22 dollars for my chicken parmigiana i've shelled out 28 (plus 15% mark up for public holiday). the chef seems to have an adverse reaction to seasoning his food as the ingredients of salt and pepper are strangely absent from almost all items. service is also lacking, despite having plenty of staff on we were never checked on during our meal and offered another drink, asked how our meal was etc.

all in all there is nothing wrong with a good pub meal, but it must be that; good. with so many pubs around geelong doing the same things better and cheaper why bother going here?

we enjoyed a beautiful meal here last night. the lamb ribs fell off the bone, and the quinoa salad was a perfect combination. best looking parmie i've seen for a long time & a great looking burger. it's certainly not cheap however !! i always think of the lord of the isles as a pub however it looks better than that & has a price tag to match !! really good food :)

monalisa. made a booking for 4, arrived, no booking in the book. been here before 3 times, sunday wasn't the best dining experience, luke warm duck spring rolls, no duck in sight. asian style pork belly, dry and no sign of cracking, just some puffed up pork cracker, pretty average for the price. after 30 minutes waiting for dessert, then told they didn't have all the ingredients, maybe take it off the menu? our young waitress was lovely but the older blonde making the coffee, gee she needs to learn some customer service skills, coffees were served with one sugar, when approached for some more sugar she just grunted and pointed to the sugar on the counter! we won't be back!!

fantastic service. the service here is amazing. i went to dinner there and had to be out by 8pm. the service was so prompt we were done by 7:45pm with full and happy tummy's!!! quite a classy environment but still has a relaxed feeling about it all. i thought the food was quite good, i got the thai beef salad and enjoyed it!

the sevice was spot on. we both ordered the eye fillet. it was on par with parker's steakhouse which is very good. however the atmosphere was much better in lord of the isles.... well done!

everything. lobster sliders salt & pepper calamari with roast tomato rocket & mango! yummmm!

lunch. spent two lunches here on 3 day trip to torquay. food fantastic! service excellent! a real winner!!!

over priced pub food. went to pub with a group of friends sat night, had rump steak ordered rare came out over cooked and as for the salad for a place that is supposed to have a good reputation it was absolute garbage (iceberg lettuce and a couple of cherry tomatoes slopped on the plate). also roast of the day @ $30, and stubbies of light beer $6, you have to be kidding. what a rip off !!!

i had sunday lunch here. i liked the place. good ambience. attentative waiters. nice serving amount of food. tasty food. friendly service. clean restrooms. simply happy overall.

a pub surprise.. we eat here often.recently the menu has gone a little backwards in choice and variety.however what is presently available is well presented and cooked.this place is a little above what you would typically expect from a pub.

nit being from the geelong a.... not being from the geelong area my friend & i googled places to eat in geelong and this is where we found ourselves. had lunch & really enjoyed it.the food we had was yummy.

the autumn menu is a cracker !. we've been coming here for 15 years. mostly average..
we had lunch on saturday and the food was the best we've had in geelong. four of us ordered crumbed lamb cutlets with peas and mash and one chicken parma with chips.
the mash was sublime and the cutlets superb.
the chips with the parma were twice cooked and the best i've ever tasted.
all in a good experience. we'll be back for more very soon !

terrible service! waiting half an hour to make an order for dinner. recieve meals that were cold, cheese not even melted in our mexican dish. then, after waiting 15 minutes after we finished our meal to have our table cleared and als for the bill we left our table and payed at the bar.
watched 5 or 6 waiters wandering around aimlessly the entire night as we attempted to grab their attention for assistance!
overall, an absolute disaster!
