loved the ambiance of this place and the great customer service. we ordered green thai curry, pad thai, pineapple pork curry, and chinese broccoli with pork. most of thefoodwas great (except for the other dish we had that had scrambled eggs that tasted a littler burnt)!! i didnt think it was worth it since the serving was small and the price is mostly expensive.

pretty good most of the time, the restaurant manager is a bit of a pretentious arse. thefoodis good though, mild for thai food, but tasty and worth the price.

good decor and service but cannot applaud the food. the crispy prawns for starters were well prepared and a decent size serve. but the tofu laksa was simply inedible. the waitress warned me it was hot, i assured her that was fine. it wasn't. laksa is one of my favourite dishes and i have eaten it throughout s.e.asia but i have never met one anywhere near as thick and hot as this. it is probably "authentic" to somewhere in thailand i have never been. i was hoping for subtlety and nuance, freshness and clean flavours, the balancing act of good thai cooking; i received oral thuggery. when the cashier asked what i thought of the meal, i told her, and she said that it had been toned down as there were so many complaints originally and the chef refused  to alter it further. i have some sympathy for the notion that asianfoodin perth is too often a bland shadow of "genuine" but then there are some originals it is not worth recreating.

hot hot hot! most of the dishes numb your tastebuds here. i am a spice lover but some dishes are way too spicy, to a point that you lost the good flavours of the dish.foodaside. the ambience and cocktail selections are playful and fun, perfect for your friday night outs. worth a try!

this restaurant has amazing decor and vibe. it's pretty cool. we were warned about the spice offoodand tried to choose mild dishes but unfortunately still needed to ask for a glass of milk!foodis authentic and shouldn't be criticised but unfortunately it's just too hot for my taste buds.

excellentfoodand service. the pork rice cracker dish was a stand out. amazing asian inspired cocktails. good, if not a little overbearing service....but the staff handled dietary requests well. it won't be a cheap night out - but worth it! was nice to get some spicy asianfoodfor a change!!

the service was outstanding and the interior was really funky, which creates a very cool atmosphere. unfortunately thefoodis overpriced and average. however the dessert was amazing, we ordered the banana roti and coconut cake which were very delicious. the whole experience was still good overall.

yeah not great. i could go on and on how rude the host was, eventually getting a table thefoodwas okay but not amazing, when we went to order more at 2:45pm got told the kitchen was closed, really after spending $400, no notice of last orders....really not great, need to pick up your game guys, the industry is called hospitality for a reason. won't be returning until the service gets better.

this was my fourth time at long chim and thefooddid not disappoint. absolutely divine and our waiter, who had only been there for 3 weeks was outstanding. his knowledge of the menu and ingredients was impressive. we had a family group with children for dinner and the waitstaff were welcoming and accommodating. will be back again... and again... cannot recommend highly enough even for the most discerning of asian customers - even my 80 yo asian mother gave it the tick of approval!

can't rate it more that 2.5, sorry. the problem with most perth "fine dining" or upmarket venues is that you come to get a great service and unforgettablefoodexperience (since you're paying 3 times the price of a local takeaway shop) - and instead it's average at best for the premium price.
anyways, the good: pretty decorations, nice tables, cute outdoors area. it's a pleasant place to spend a few hours at. thumbs up for that. tasty green curry (with not much meat though).
the bad: thefoodis nothing special. at all. beef in the massaman curry (which is supposed to be melting in your mouth) was stiff and leathery. duck curry had maybe 4 pieces of duck, that's all. the amount of rice (plain boring rice) wasn't nearly enough for 4 people. the wine glass my friend has been given wasn't clean enough so she had to ask for a replacement. a small bottle of cider for $11. total bill of $200. the overall feeling in the end: hmmmmm, and this is considered good?? cmon perth, stop praising mediocre overpriced places! design and good service are supposed to be default to attract the customers, and then thefoodis supposed to wow - not just be acceptable. a place like that wouldn't survive in melbourne or europe.

first time coming here. have been trying to get into this place for a long time. weekends are always busy. even tonight it was busy. just as well i had made a reservation. staff are friendly and ourfoodand drinks came quite promptly. i ordered the virgin mary. one if the best i had in a while, loved the extra kick of the spice.
between the three of us, we ordered a vegetable curry, stir fried chinese broccoli with crispy pork (which in other asian term is roast pork) in oyster sauce, grilled pork skewers, and charred noodles with chicken and squid. grilled pork was very tasty, the stir fried vegetable was quite ordinary, the vegetable curry was delicious and had a nice spice to it, the char grilled noodles smelled delicious on arrival to our table, although quite tasty could do with less salt.
didn't have the stomach to have dessert as we were stuffed. would definitely come and try other dishes and the dessert.

what a way to ruin a night 😑 my girlfriend and i went to long chim for our 5th anniversary. at first everything was going well.foodwas nice it took a while for our mains to arrive which we understood since it was on a busy friday. no complaints there. however, when we were still eating our starters, there was this waiter (a guy) who first asked us if we were done with ourfood(even though there were still a lot on the plate and we were still eating) to which we politely said no. we weren't done with them yet. then came our mains. our plate was still pretty full and he came back and asked us again if we were done. which we obviously wasn't even close. but because we got annoyed with him pestering us if we were done, my girlfriend and i just said yes and left.

there were literally stillfoodon our plates and i was in the middle of chewing myfoodbut he kept asking if we were done. the rest of the waiters were amazing except for that one guy who kept wanting to clear our table.

this is not a restaurant for the faint hearted. owned by aussie thaiophile chef david thompson, it is a fun place to go – loud, brash and unashamedly like a street style cafe. thefoodis authentic in looks, flavour and spice – it is hot, you know, silom road hot, so if you can’t take spicy food, then maybe this is not the best choice for you.
