awful. we dined at locale with much expectation as the hype around this place is amazing. what a let down - a nice space and a very attentive waitress - however the food was awful. agree with a previous reviewer - the bread basket was very much bad bakery bought and thrown together. entre: the carpaccio looked like devon - and didn't taste much better. the scallops that we ordered were close to cold. we actually felt pushed to order mains as if all the restaurant wanted was for us to finish and they could reuse the table. for mains i had the veal shin ragu - watery sauce, tough stringy meat - overall horrible. other mains were at best average and the side of kipfler potatoes so undercooked that they tasted barely out of the ground! when asked by the owner/manager 'how was your meal' we responded with ok to which he questioned us. we responded with our thoughts as above and told him that we had mentioned the potatoes to our waitress and guess what he did - blamed her for the issues! unreal. terrible overpriced food, awful management - i highly recommend second thoughts when it comes to this place.

best spot for dinner on hastings st. this area has a reputation for over priced, underwhelming restaurants as they simply get away with location to suck up the tourist dollar.... but locale is actually great and the prices are reflective of some quality tapas and mains. the staff are really professional, not school kids and backpackers like most of the other hastings st spots. thoroughly recommend it for a nice night out and a few cocktails

what a beautiful bar and restaurant - stunning decor. we had drinks and a small bite to eat in the bar. lovely wines! the food in the bar menu is delicious and very well priced. terrific staff too!

the night just kept getting worse.. my husband and i went to locale a couple of nights ago and left feeling angry and dissapointed. the venue and wines were beautiful however the food and service were the worst we have come by. after 50 minutes of waiting for our meals to arrive, we asked the waiter where our dinner was. he said the lamb dish had to be recoiled in the oven and that it wouldn't take long. we waited another half an hour and finally our meals arrived. my husband took a bite into his lamb and the meat was luke warm at best, so the meal clearly had not just come out of the oven. i ordered the pumpkin tortellini and it was really undercooked. after waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food to arrive and for it to be not cooked properly i was so dissapointed. my husband was starving because of the long wait and ate his meal cold. i have never complained about a meal at a restaurant before but this time i did. after explaining that my tortellini was undercooked the restaurant manager told me that "it's home made pasta, it's meant to taste like that". i told him that it was hard. he took my meal away and came back shorly and said "sorry you were right, the pasta was undercooked". anyway, by this time we were over it. the restaurant manager tried to make amends by offering us a shot of chocolate chilli liqueur that he had made himself which was so terrible we could not drink it. for the prices that locale charge we were expecting much better. we will never be returning and would not recommend for anyone to go here.

very disappointed. had a dinner with some family friends last night and was very disappointed. i had the market fish which was awfully overdone and came with almost no vegetables. i had a taste of other's pasta dishes and there was nothing special about them. for the prices we paid the meals were nowhere up to scratch and not authentic. the bread baskets tasted store bought and the antipasto plate was something anyone could rustle up at home. if you are looking for great food in the noosa area there are far better places on hastings street. would not recommend!

had an incredible experience at locale last night. the service, atmosphere, food, drinks - i can't fault it. the pork and veal both come highly recommended. if you can book a bit later to avoid the family rush, you're pretty much guaranteed a romantic evening for two! i consider myself a reasonably discerning foodie so this review does not come lightly. next time i'm in noosa, i will be making a beeline for locale for dinner.

had an amazing lunch at locale yesterday. after hearing a lot of good things about this restaurant we couldn't wait to try it out. service was faultless and our waiter was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. entrees were delicious, as were mains. i highly recommend the fritelle entree, it is truly amazing! along with the italian rose recommended by our waiter, it was delicious. enjoyed every moment, can't wait to return!

finally a restaurant in noosa worthy of the accolade. brilliant service, perfectly cooked food and great choices.

wow what an amazing restaurant. this was simply amazing, one of the best meals we have ever had, the food was amazing, the service immaculate, the ambiance perfect, we were made to feel so welcome and we couldn't fault the night, we were regulars at lindonis and will be even more so at locale. would highly recommend this restaurant.

friendly service and good pizzas

great service, food on the whole was good but my rabbit ragu was average. it was dry and tasteless. disappointed.. still has a lot of work to do to be at lindoni's standard..

dirty old fisherman's toe would taste better. chef needs a pink slip. but we want locale to stay and be way way better.

the seafood pasta was beyond too salty - it was foul. it tasted like the pasta had been boiled in sea water sourced from the port melbourne pier. not edible.

locale - don't you dare associate with lindoni's - it was a class establishment - you are not.

owners - please get rid of the chef - we want you to be a great noosa eatery.

was so looking forward to dining here and whilst our mains were lovely (pork belly and fish of the day) the dessert was an unbelievable let down. in fact i can't believe the chef actually let it get sent out to our table. we ordered the mango semifreddo with lime meringue, and although the flavours were good, the texture was a joke. something had clearly gone wrong somewhere as the semifreddo was like frozen ice (had to hack at it with the spoon to get a piece) and the meringue was as hard as concrete (had clearly just been pulled out of the freezer) in fact it was inedible. didn't want to make a fuss at the time but as we had spent $30 on our dessert i think it was definitely not good enough. won't be back again
