if you love hot, juicy, perfectly seasoned fried chicken you have found the right place. lolo's has the best fried chicken i have ever had. once you take one bite you will be hooked. the crispy and savory chicken skin is a treat in itself, and the goodness doesn't stop there. thewafflesare perfect everytime and are a lovely complement to the chicken and the all the delectable side dishes. hot cheese grits, eggs, red beans, greens, corn muffins are great and make place perfect for breakfast, brunch, dinner or just whenever you want the best meal of your week.

been begging my son to take me here for a couple
of years now. he always said wrong time lol f day. it was a well known rumor that there service was rather slow when challenged. well 8 on this saturday morning their serve was on point. the food taste almost as good as roscoe's (especially thewafflesexactly), but the menu has a bit more detail and is geared for bl and d.

tried coming here on a saturday afternoon and there was a lineup. no line but still busy on a monday afternoon! the catfish and fried green tomato apps were delicious, especially in the accompanying sauce. but you come here for the chicken and waffles. the #3 is the house speciality.

thewafflesare like none i've ever tasted. delicious, cinnamon bread-like and definitely plentiful. this along with 3 pieces of chicken. the chicken was fresh and crispy. flavorful without being overly salty. definitely homemade but not quite as down-home feeling as a couple of other nearby places we tried as well.

definitely glad we came and would recommend trying it out without reservation.

ok i don’t get it, what’s all the hoopla about lo-lo’s?! all the kudos given, the ratings issued – where is it? first off, it takes forever to get seated! second, the service at this (and maybe only) visit of ours, was atrocious – no good ole fashioned southern hospitality here… ‘get you in, eat it up and go about your way’ service technique! no hellos, how are yas’ or thank yous. third, the ‘southern-style’ chicken with eggs, home fries and toast and their betty boob chicken andwafflesalong with the corn fritters were anything but ‘southern’! from someone who knows and who’s fave food is just that, it is not. from our time in line waiting to be seated, through seating and departure the customer service (or lack thereof) was none existent, abhorrent, lackluster and downright appalling. we were uncomfortable throughout what should have been at worst a reasonably enjoyable experience. but overall our experience is bewildering and are stunned by it’s popularity! unfortunately, lo-lo is a no-no for us.

this is a specialty southern style foods and drink restaurant. on my visit they were on a half hour wait for lunch. we ordered and it took another half hour to be served. i ordered a soul food platter. i got a crispy skinned nicely seasoned moist chicken thigh, a very thickly corn meal breaded (slightly over cooked) piece of cod, above average processed tasting macaroni and cheese, spicy green beans with red potatoes (that seemed over cooked and not tasty) and a giant sort of sweet corn muffin and a very large ball of soft butter. my husband had the #3 lo lo's plate with 3 pieces of chicken andwafflesthat was a better value than my plate. it was a nice touch that the syrup was served warm and the waffle was tasty. the service was above average because our server informed us that the food would take a while.

in my visit at lolo’s chicken and waffles, was the most greatest experience for a first time customer. i went with friend of mine who has been there and told me that i'm going to love it. when we walked in the waiting area was a little small for busy days, but a really lovely displays and merchandise. when you first walk in you get to see the cooks and employees through a see through glass which is neat. the restaurant was very spotless clean as while the kitchen. the hostess had our table ready within five minutes.

once we sat down we had a warm welcome from our server with a great smile, and ready to get our drinks ready. he said there’s pepsi products and kool-aid. i was shocked that there was kool-aid which i got. the kool-aid was just right and not watered downed. and served in a mason jar which very unique. once the server came with the drinks he started right away with our food! he was nice and pleasant by giving us time to decide. he as while suggested some plates to try for this first time customer.

later, when the food arrived which i had ordered the classic chicken andwafflesplate that came with 2wafflesand 3 crispy chicken. the wait for the food was not long at all and came in really hot. often the waiter would suggest if we need anything, he even came and sat down just had a nice conversation with us. he was always there when we needed a refill for our drinks. so my experience at lolo’s chicken andwaffleswas great!!!!!!!!!!!

i ❤ chicken andwafflesand this place is the bee's knees. i love the atmosphere, the music, the people and of course the food. i've tried different items on the menu and i try to taste something new every time. it doesn't matter what i order, they always nail it. i'm not a huge fan of the new parking situation, so for that i have to give it a 4.5. but the food itself is a 5.

lo lo's. lo lo’s chicken andwaffleswas a fantastic experience. walking up with my stomach growling a glorious aroma filled my nose. as would be expected, this brought joy to my soul. my heart sunk when i gave a second look and say that there was a large group of people waiting outside. they told my family the wait would be up to 45 minutes! this wasn’t lo lo’s fault; their food is just too dang good.
after the wait outside, i walked in to find a very charming atmosphere. despite the business, the wait staff were welcoming and smiles all around. after being shown our table, our party of 14 was able to put orders in rather quickly. the food came out with reasonable speed, and i was presented with one of the most beautiful plates of food i had ever laid my eyes on. it seemed to be well worth the wait.
i didn’t hesitate to dig in, and my mouth was met with moist flavorful, classic, down south fried chicken. right after indulging in an oversized bite of chicken i made sure to get a bite of waffle. the waffle chicken combination was like no other and didn’t fail to satisfy. thewaffleswere fluffy and had a ting of cinnamon which put them over the edge. this cultural experience let me have a little taste of the south, and let me tell you it was good.

ghetto bird awesomeness!. this is not some trendy chicken andwafflesjoint - this is a real deal "hood" joint that has all the fixins done right too - just like the bird! southern fried (which means battered bird but not over battered, ok? don't get crazy, holmes!) chicken served with some waffle action and syrup. i for the two winger and a waffle for like $7.99 and a side of cheese grits and a tea. super wonderful and when they brought it out in aboot 5-7 minutes, i was like "ok, heat lamp mess - yuck!" but get this - it was hot and crixpy like i likes it and they brought me some hot sauce and my 1/2 & /2 tea was dead on too. serivce can be oftentimes lacking at places like these (ahem) but not here - the 2 young guys - one black dude and one hispanic dude - were all over me with helpful tips (this is really good today - try the colored greens (a joke from the ofice) et. i will go here again in a minute! better than any of the other yard-bird wanna be's around. if you go to kfc, you are a loser if you like it better tha lo lo's!

lo-lo chicken and waffles. culture review

the greatness of soul food or other know as (black people food). lo-lo chicken andwafflesis where a lot of people like to attend for some southern food. lo-lo has two locations one in scottsdale and in phoenix. the hospital was very nice and the employees were really friendly which helped me enjoy my meal.
i ordered the two chicken wing combo with a choice of two sides, which were green beans and potato. it was also pretty awesome that i could have some red kool-aid with my food where else could you do that? my chicken wings were a bit crispy but overcall pretty tasty. i was not a big fan of the potato it was a bit to dry and not mixed as best i would like it. last the green beans were really good and topped off my meal.
the soundings of lo-lo is not really in such a nice neighborhood but is kept up pretty good. it is nicely decorated in the location of phoenix but really much older then the new one in scottsdale. in the location of phoenix the parking can get a little crazy because you have to park on the street. a lot of famous people come here for the culture of southern food and how good the food is.

chicken &wafflestogether!. the chicken was very good, as was the waffle. i had one of the "smaller" combos, but it was very filling. the service was very good as well. several staff attended to us with a smile. if you are on a diet, this is a great place for your "cheat day". i'll be back!

great soul food. i have driven through this location many times never realizing this place was there. a co-worker had spoken highly of the scottsdale location so i decided to try this one in the downtown phoenix area as it is just a few miles down the street where i live.

i ordered the toy-toy which is 1 waffle and 2 chicken wings. i added a side of scrambled eggs. the order took a while to come out. the eggs arrived cold. thewafflesand chicken were good.

what i noticed is that when we arrived there were not many people, but just a few minutes after we arrived about 5 new parties arrived. so my assumption for the delay in our order was that they must have delayed frying the chicken for our order to get all the orders in from the other parties, because everyone else's food arrived almost at the same time as ours. so we got to wait.

i would definitely go back but solely for chicken and waffles.

update: the above review was written review by me on yelp back in july 2010. since then, i have been back and the chicken andwaffleswere delish. i have now also ordered the fried okra, which were yummy. very tasty and almost like the ones i have had in texas. also, the collard greens are pretty good. you should definitely try this place.
