phoenix favorite. if you like greatfriedchicken or catfish, run, don't walk to lo-lo's. thefriedchicken is the best in phoenix. throw in a waffle - yes it's amazing - and a side of beans on rice, greens, mac and cheese and yams and you'll be set for the day, and left-overs tomorrow. yes the neighborhood is a bit rough around the edges, but that adds to the adventure. this is one of our favorite places to go in phoenix. highly recommended.

if you love hot, juicy, perfectly seasonedfriedchicken you have found the right place. lolo's has the bestfriedchicken i have ever had. once you take one bite you will be hooked. the crispy and savory chicken skin is a treat in itself, and the goodness doesn't stop there. the waffles are perfect everytime and are a lovely complement to the chicken and the all the delectable side dishes. hot cheese grits, eggs, red beans, greens, corn muffins are great and make place perfect for breakfast, brunch, dinner or just whenever you want the best meal of your week.

tried coming here on a saturday afternoon and there was a lineup. no line but still busy on a monday afternoon! the catfish andfriedgreen tomato apps were delicious, especially in the accompanying sauce. but you come here for the chicken and waffles. the #3 is the house speciality.

the waffles are like none i've ever tasted. delicious, cinnamon bread-like and definitely plentiful. this along with 3 pieces of chicken. the chicken was fresh and crispy. flavorful without being overly salty. definitely homemade but not quite as down-home feeling as a couple of other nearby places we tried as well.

definitely glad we came and would recommend trying it out without reservation.

lo lo's. lo lo’s chicken and waffles was a fantastic experience. walking up with my stomach growling a glorious aroma filled my nose. as would be expected, this brought joy to my soul. my heart sunk when i gave a second look and say that there was a large group of people waiting outside. they told my family the wait would be up to 45 minutes! this wasn’t lo lo’s fault; their food is just too dang good.
after the wait outside, i walked in to find a very charming atmosphere. despite the business, the wait staff were welcoming and smiles all around. after being shown our table, our party of 14 was able to put orders in rather quickly. the food came out with reasonable speed, and i was presented with one of the most beautiful plates of food i had ever laid my eyes on. it seemed to be well worth the wait.
i didn’t hesitate to dig in, and my mouth was met with moist flavorful, classic, down southfriedchicken. right after indulging in an oversized bite of chicken i made sure to get a bite of waffle. the waffle chicken combination was like no other and didn’t fail to satisfy. the waffles were fluffy and had a ting of cinnamon which put them over the edge. this cultural experience let me have a little taste of the south, and let me tell you it was good.

southern hospitality. i went here with some friends from georgia. they had fun 'educating' me on soul food. i love this place! of course i got the chicken and waffles. the waffle was delicious and the chicken was nice and crispy. i also ordered a side offriedokra. i tried the cheese grits and collard greens from my friend's plate. the greens were ok (an acquired taste) - i guess they are served with almost every meal in the south. i'm glad i got to try some new foods. i grew up on kool-aid and loved having it as a drink. i really enjoyed the southern hospitality. my fear is that they are opening multiple locations and will eventually lose it's flare and become a chain.

ghetto bird awesomeness!. this is not some trendy chicken and waffles joint - this is a real deal "hood" joint that has all the fixins done right too - just like the bird! southernfried(which means battered bird but not over battered, ok? don't get crazy, holmes!) chicken served with some waffle action and syrup. i for the two winger and a waffle for like $7.99 and a side of cheese grits and a tea. super wonderful and when they brought it out in aboot 5-7 minutes, i was like "ok, heat lamp mess - yuck!" but get this - it was hot and crixpy like i likes it and they brought me some hot sauce and my 1/2 & /2 tea was dead on too. serivce can be oftentimes lacking at places like these (ahem) but not here - the 2 young guys - one black dude and one hispanic dude - were all over me with helpful tips (this is really good today - try the colored greens (a joke from the ofice) et. i will go here again in a minute! better than any of the other yard-bird wanna be's around. if you go to kfc, you are a loser if you like it better tha lo lo's!

great soul food. i have driven through this location many times never realizing this place was there. a co-worker had spoken highly of the scottsdale location so i decided to try this one in the downtown phoenix area as it is just a few miles down the street where i live.

i ordered the toy-toy which is 1 waffle and 2 chicken wings. i added a side of scrambled eggs. the order took a while to come out. the eggs arrived cold. the waffles and chicken were good.

what i noticed is that when we arrived there were not many people, but just a few minutes after we arrived about 5 new parties arrived. so my assumption for the delay in our order was that they must have delayed frying the chicken for our order to get all the orders in from the other parties, because everyone else's food arrived almost at the same time as ours. so we got to wait.

i would definitely go back but solely for chicken and waffles.

update: the above review was written review by me on yelp back in july 2010. since then, i have been back and the chicken and waffles were delish. i have now also ordered thefriedokra, which were yummy. very tasty and almost like the ones i have had in texas. also, the collard greens are pretty good. you should definitely try this place.

best waffles, ever!. absolutely the best waffles i've had anywhere, and i think *i make pretty good ones.

i keep it simple: the #3 (lo-lo's) with sweet tea and a side of mac & cheese -- also a special treat here. you get two excellent waffles and three pieces of amazingfriedchicken.

i don't even likefriedchicken, but i keep going back for it! :)

very, very delicious. a certain contender for the bestfriedchicken in town. gotta love a place that has sweet tea and kool-aid served up in big mason jars, too. just make sure your cardiologist is on speed dial.
