wow just wow. i love chinese food, but jerry traunfeld does this szechuan chineserestaurantthe right way. a small brightly lit spot on the north end of broadway on capitol hill serving lesser known szechuan style dishes. the highlight was the chicken mixed heavily with toasted szechuan peppers, creating an almost numbing sensation in your mouth (without being overly spicy). the noodles they have are delicious and perfectly cooked. my favorite dish was the cold beef salad, which had some nice chili heat to it, along with different parts of beef that included the gelatinous bits from when you chill beef. i will for sure be back to try more items on the menu. stop by poppy next door, jerry's other restaurant. it is delicious as well.
