pizza is all about the crust; when a pizzamaker gets the crust right, success generally follows. i'm usually leery of any pie that is defined by its toppings. toppings are often just a way to disguise a mediocre mass-sourced crust. click on any image to enlarge. however, we recently made an exception. we sought out a local pie based on the toppings after learning about the baked colorado flatbread pizza atlibertyunion bar & grill. this personal-size white pie is made with elk sausage, hemp seed, caramelized onion, sautéed mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese.

give melibertyor give me.... i've been tolibertyunion several times. i want to like lu, many positive features; including, great bar staff, great beer, good entertainment, always open. but, many negatives; food is not so good, table service is spotty and it is very loud.
conceptually lu is a great "idea", truly regional american food, however, the kitchen is not capable of carrying off the concept or even the basics! there is a running joke that if you endeavor to order a burger r or mr the wait staff wishes you "good luck"?
they are constantly "tweaking" the concept and i hope they eventually dial it in!
until then enjoy a great cocktail or beer and eat somewhere else....

great veggie burger so i can have an amazing cream puff for dessert!. i am not one for veggie burgers but a friend told me to try it and i was so happy i did ! boy it tasted good ! i would say it was as good as a beef burger!! very very tasty! the warm caramel cream puff for dessert was amazing! the new menu items are much healthier and the new chef is doing a great job! we love to frequent locally owned places. this is a keeper.

great bar, beer, burgers. my husband and i have visitedlibertyunion almost weekly. we love having a local place to go and the menu has a variety of options. the state of the week specials have been great. my usual order is a burger- always delicious! the salads are a great choice too if i want to go healthy and they are huge! the texas caviar is our favorite appetizer. we have noticed bigger portions from when they first opened and service is better now that they have been open for a few months. it's nice to give the local guys business , we will be going back often!

been there 4 times and service is always sloooow. for a menu,libertyunion tries to take the best from each region of the usa...their selections are simple, which would be fine if a straightforward recipe was used, instead the cook (definitely not a chef) tries to put a fancy spin on every item...the execution is awful. simple recipes can be a good idea, but when you cannot consistently cook chicken fingers...lol...then perhaps the food business is not for you.
finally, a better beer selection can be found at the pizzeria unos just down the street....not a plug for them, just a sad sad observation.

i would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

p.s. the prices are ridiculous for the food they are offering i.e. mac-n-cheese for $14 and sub-par crabcakes for $25

amazing.. this place is awesome. first of all, they spared no expense in remodeling an old blockbuster video rental building into one of the classier restaurants i've been in. old americana like gumball machines and rodeo signs, on top of tasteful colors; real-wood beadboard on the walls; swanky bathrooms and metal, nautical-style lamps everywhere - just classy. and their bar area? awesome! big, long bar and open space behind it. an impressive list of craft brews and a featured state of the week with a $3.50 beer selection makes this a place to come back to every week.
when it comes to the food, there's not a more creative approach. each item is themed by a regional classic in the u.s., and the chef does them right, from a chicago hot beef to maine lobster bisque. the food was amazing. thelibertyburger is my favorite, with a fresh fried egg on top. their menu even notes that "of course, the egg is over-easy" - unlike other burger joints that offer the egg topper, but miss the point and fry it hard. this oozes out over your burger and if there's enough yolk left, you can mop it up with hearty steak fries or old-school tater tots (but even better than your school cafeteria made them). thank you, liberty, for doing it right!

what a waste. extremely dissapointed in this place. for being so excited to have a new restaurant opening in this area,libertyunion will leave a sour taste in your mouth. aside from being completely overpriced for mediocre food, plan to wait 45min to an hour for a simple appetizer. understandable that this is a new business, but being open for almost 3 months now, there is no reason that they should still be "working out the bugs", especially when it comes to the menu. the food is inconsistent, and rarely cooked properly. on more than one occassion i was given dirty silverware, which is not only disgusting, but completely unnacceptable. the only positive thing i can add is that the bar is beautiful, with a great selection of beers, but that alone is not enough to make me ever want to eat here again. save your money, go somewhere else.

i attendedlibertyunion on saturday night. after spending 12 years in the restaurant business i can tell you this was one of the best times that i have had in recent years. from the moment that i walked in the door the staff was helpful and courtesy. from sandy, karl to steve the management team was all over the place helping the hoststand, bar, and running food to the customers. as far as our service diane not only met but exceeded our every expectation. the food was extremely well flavored ad cooked to perfection! from the burgers to the mac everything was outstanding. for opening just a few months ago this reastaurant runs like a well oiled machine

suzs. have been tolibertyunion three times. beer is great but food is only so so. too much spice in the kid's chicken fingers, way too much dressing on my salad and the crabcake was just plain tasteless. i would love to see this place succeed as we need some new restaurants up here but you really need to work on the menu both in quality and price

family friendly, great atmosphere. we triedlibertyunion for the first time last week and had a great experience. the atmosphere is very nice, ample room between the tables, bright fresh look, comfortable booth, clean, and not too noisy.
we went with our three kids and were promptly seated with crayons and coloring pages. our waiter was attentive and was quick to bring drinks/food to the kids while my husband and i relaxed with our microbrews deciding what we would order.our usually picky kids devoured their hamburgers and proclaimed them "awesome" and then proceeded to help themselves to our crabcakes, which are excellent. i had a build your own salad which i found to be fresh and full of toppings. the basalmic salad dressing was delicious.
we are looking forward to many more evenings there and can't wait for the outdoor dining to open.

great all around. we've eaten atlibertyseveral times with family and friends. the wait staff has been fantastic and attentive. never had to wait for anything!

atmosphere is spectacular - very comfortable and inviting. we spent 3 hours just hanging out last friday night with friends after dinner.

the food has always been top notch. the build your own burger is great. my wife and i love the brioche roll with avacado and sauteed onions with swiss cheese. amazing! and the lobster bisque - wow!

my kids love the fried pickles and soft pretzles with butter for appetizer. mac and cheese is individually prepared and the best we've had.

exactly what this area needed - and so unlike the typical chains and pizza places all around. treat yourself to a great night out.

can't go wrong atlibertyunion!. my wife and i just checked out this new place we've been hearing so much buzz about. it's beautiful inside with high ceilings, lots of windows and great themed-decor. we were warmly greeted by smiling staff who said there was a wait and directed us to a spacious bar area. we tried the new old fashioned and a revolutionary lemon drop as recommended by the knowledgeable bar staff. loved them! for dinner, we were served by a friendly waitress who was well versed on the menu. i had the kansas city bone in pork chop and my wife had the new orleans chicken pasta. they were to die for. both entrees were served as described and on-time. wanted to try a dessert, but too stuffed. definitely next time.

visitedlibertyunion for the first time last night.....entrees too pricey. had the chicken pot pie. nice pieces of chicken & vegetables, but the strong taste of the shallots was all that you could taste! had the tator tots at $8.50...over priced. way too much salt taste and too few tots. coleslaw was spicy, it did not say that on the menu. service was ok. would not recommend this restaurant at this time.

stick to drinks. i've had two meals at his place and both were disappointing.
fried pickles- best thing i've had but the pickles get soggy unlike other places i've had them
burgers- overcooked and dry. i had thelibertyburger with bacon, am cheese and a fired egg. i order it medium but the burger was well and the egg was overcooked. wife orderd a bacon cheese but just got an overcooked cheese burger.
fires- cold, soggy and overly salty
mac & cheese- watery, bland and tasted like velveeta was used
chicken fried steak- steak was small, too thick and the sage & sausage gravy was bland and lacked sage or sausage.
value- this place is way overpriced. there are much better places that are a better value in the area.
overall- as close as i am to this place i won't be going back anytime soon.

awesome beer selection!. chester county has been waiting for a place like this for years!libertyunion's beer menu is phenomenal. it is definitely the place to share a drink with some friends and enjoy a truly unique atmosphere.

excellent bar & grill. last week was my first experience atlibertyunion and it was awesome! they had amazing food, a great selection of craft beers, and an extremely friendly staff. i look forward to going back again soon!
