good experience. visitedleopold'sice cream on monday, april 29th, 2013 and it was a nice visit. the place has been there since 1919. the place is very retro with lots of staff members helping all patrons. you can ask for samples ... we ended up buying two strawberry waffle cones. the only negative is that the prices are high ... we paid $11.31. it was ok ...

would i go back? nah.

we have visited savannah every year since my brother started at scad and going toleopold'shas become a tradition. absolutely love their ice cream! i have been impressed with flavors like honey almond, pistachio, caramel swirl, coconut, and the infamous tutti fruitti. lines are generally long and the prices are on the high side but i do believe these ice cream cones are worth it. looking forward to coming back to an almost century old establishment!!

there is always a huge line forleopold'sice cream. a pretty big tourist spot but definitely worth the wait!! grab one of the menus to read in line so you can figure out what you want to eat before your turn because everything sounds so good...

it's not bad for a tourist attraction. i've lived in savannah for years, but i only recently went toleopold'sice cream. it's true that there is pretty much always a long line no matter what time of the year it is, but the line does move pretty quickly. the ice cream is good, but in my opinion the scoop size is smaller then most other places i've been to in savannah. there are a ton of interesting flavors, but only a couple that you haven't heard of before. the bottom line is that if you are already downtown it's probably as good as it gets for ice cream. however, if you are just having an ice cream craving you might choose another ice cream spot for a shorter wait and a better value; because honestly, if i was blindfolded and tasted brewster's ice cream next to leopolds, i doubt i would know the difference.

pretty good but far from the best. i have been meaning to go here everytime we vacation down in savannah and it was always so busy we never bothered. fortunately this time the line was very manageable.

i thought the ice cream was okay but nothing special. i guess if i wasn't blessed to live in cincinnati i might think this was much better. compared to my hometown graeter's small batch french pot style nothing can compare.leopold'sice cream is a bit pasty and not very creamy. the flavor didn't pop and i can't believe this stuff is even more expensive than graeter's.

now the good news if you want some of the best ice cream graeter's ships.

my husband and i visitedleopold'son our anniversary trip to savannah! i was really looking forward to the experience after reading all the history and the hollywood popularity behind this ice cream store.... we really enjoyed the ice cream but did not appreciate the cash register's attitude toward my husband when he asked if they offered a military discount... she first told my husband she could not give him the discount unless he was wearing his uniform?!?! i'm sorry but, majority of our armed forces men and women don't walk around downtown, shopping, and out of all places- to stop and get ice cream in uniform. and then, after that our total came out to $8.03 my husband gave her a $20 and she asked if he had 3 pennies!?!? well, instead of being a generous employee and waving the 3 pennies she proceeded to get 97 cents out!!! who does that?! i mean i don't believe we should have been treated differently- by any means!!!! but, at least show some kind of support to a troop who fights for your country and is willing to sacrifice his life for yours!

unlike any other .... before coming toleopold'sfor the first time i thought no ice cream could possibly be this good. have yet to try any flavor that any other ice cream anywhere else was half as good as. when in savannah, which is normally 2-3 times a year for several days, we generally come toleopold'sonce a day, and often twice. don't pass this up.

a must-do in savannah!.leopold'sis an amazing place, full of history and great food! we stopped in for a mid-afternoon treat and were very impressed with the chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate milk shake...so good. the old fashioned milk shake hit the spot. can't wait to get back to leopold's!

bo better ice cream in all of savannah.leopold'sis one of those iconic savannah sorts of places, pretty much timeless, inviting and excellent. a visit to savannah is not complete without a stop in for some of the most excellent home made ice cream to be found anywhere...period. the atmosphere is intriguingly awesome as you are surrounded by the historic elements of savannah intermixed with movie paraphernalia from the owner's career in hollywood films. as mentioned before the ice cream is top notch, as are the shakes, malts, splits and lemonades; all served from a vintage soda fountain/ice cream parlor style counter. most excellent and highly recommended!

nice mid day treat: cool atmosphere:. wandered into a little shop down by the river and to our surprise who was pouring ice water but the world renowned producer stratton leopold...mission impossible 3, the sum of all fears, the general's daughter, paycheck, the adventures of baron munchausen, etc.

this is a little place that was re-opened in 2004 ; however, has roots in savannah stretching back some 90 plus years. don't quote me on this because i can't site reference but i believe thatleopold'sice cream back in the day came up with the original "tutti fruitti" flavor of ice cream...

lot's of history here plus the shop is tastefully decorated and was "designed" by academy award-nominated production designer daniel a. lomino...

nice product too...the berry cheesecake ice cream, the lemon custard and the raspberry sorbet are all home runs. sit inside or grab it to go...the soda jerks are adorable...one young lady was probably the prettiest southern belle that we have seen in savannah. (very jennifer connelly when cast in the rocketeer' but perhaps more regal! )

stratton is crazy if he doesn't cast her in his next movie...very nice shop! nice seeing the boss there too, well done!
