leopold's ice cream

it was ok. i wouldn't say it was the best icecreamever. it was creamy. they flavors were good and tasted fresh but it was a too sweet and too thick.

magical.... best icecreamin the galaxy, i'm not sure if i can ever eat icecreamagain. their icecreammakes ben & jerry's and hd taste like carcinogens.

good experience. visited leopold's icecreamon monday, april 29th, 2013 and it was a nice visit. the place has been there since 1919. the place is very retro with lots of staff members helping all patrons. you can ask for samples ... we ended up buying two strawberry waffle cones. the only negative is that the prices are high ... we paid $11.31. it was ok ...

would i go back? nah.

leopold's is an iconic icecreamparlour in savannah. tried their original pecan (10/10) and savannah socialite (10/10). their portions were simply great and it was a value for money!
can't wait to go back again and dig in to some more flavours! 🍦

creamy icecreamin a nostalgic setting with lots of history and movie memorabilia from when owner was a movie producer. you can try samples before deciding, otherwise i would never have chosen pistachio.

in 2011 the toronto sun rated it as 5th best icecreamparlor in world. it's owned by stratton leopold, a movie producer, and the walls are lined with movie posters that he produced along with cases of movie props (such as from mission impossible). still serve in glass cups like old times! its a true parlor atmoaphere. icecreamis creamy good. i finally ordered the tutti frutti, their original flavor that got it all started in 1919. its rum icecreamwith candied fruit and fresh roasted georgia pecans. it didn't sound like a "wow" flavor but it instantly became my favorite. all flavors are good and very creamy. you can tell it's a highcreamcontent based on how quickly it melts. they have seasonal flavors and the girl scout thin mints flavor is one of my favorites too (march flavor). they frequently have long lines running out the door but don't be scared away. it doesn't take long to scoop icecreamso lone moves quick and we always find seating inside. it's a true gem in savannah.

we have visited savannah every year since my brother started at scad and going to leopold's has become a tradition. absolutely love their ice cream! i have been impressed with flavors like honey almond, pistachio, caramel swirl, coconut, and the infamous tutti fruitti. lines are generally long and the prices are on the high side but i do believe these icecreamcones are worth it. looking forward to coming back to an almost century old establishment!!

i love leopold's. their icecreamis great, and their old school icecreamparlor atmosphere can't be beat. old school service goes along with the surroundings. if a movie is letting out of the lucas theater, rest assured that the line will soon wrap around the street and the waiters from the icecreamparlor will soon start serving iced water to the crowd waiting in line. love the attitude!! my absolute favorite flavor is pistachio...i keep coming back to it. also - stop by for lunch if you're in the area, they have a selection of sandwiches and light bites.

the icecreamwas very good as advertised and the service was pleasant. had the honey, almond andcreamwhich i'd happily have a second time. worth the visit, will go again.

even tho the line is long! it's worth the wait! great icecreamfor a hot day in savannah! lol types of flavored you can't get anywhere else!

great for dessert. family icecreamrecipes going back 95 years. limited but classic selection of flavors. best icecreamever!!! worth the wait in line.

a gem of savannah. great icecreamand shakes. expect a line but try a sample of seasonal flavors. chocolate raspberry swirl was divine, as was the mocha chocolate chip. the lavender flavor was truly interesting. worth the stop when you are ready for a sweet treat. moderate to pricey. not a bad value though.

it's not bad for a tourist attraction. i've lived in savannah for years, but i only recently went to leopold's ice cream. it's true that there is pretty much always a long line no matter what time of the year it is, but the line does move pretty quickly. the icecreamis good, but in my opinion the scoop size is smaller then most other places i've been to in savannah. there are a ton of interesting flavors, but only a couple that you haven't heard of before. the bottom line is that if you are already downtown it's probably as good as it gets for ice cream. however, if you are just having an icecreamcraving you might choose another icecreamspot for a shorter wait and a better value; because honestly, if i was blindfolded and tasted brewster's icecreamnext to leopolds, i doubt i would know the difference.

great ice cream. we had heard about this icecreamand wanted to give it a try. she got scoop ofcreamand chocolate chewies and i got a scoop of caramel swirl and a scoop of rum raisin. i can definitely see why folks say this is some of the best icecreamin the world!

worth the wait. everytime we've passed the store there always a long line. so we've gave in and stood in line. all i have to say it's definitely worth the wait! the icecreamis delicious.
