pretty good food but waitress had a very bad attitude and questioned why we didn't tip her more and proceeded to stay there counting out the change to give us as apparently it seemed it wasn't a big enough tip so she didn't want it at all. coming from a country where no one tips unless theserviceis exceptional everyone at the table felt this very rude and it made everyone uncomfortable.

great food however the waitress had a bad attitude and made everyone at our table feel uncomfortable as apparently we didn't tip her enough.

restaurant is beautiful and love the vibe. my particular meal wasn’t quite as filling as i expected but was still great. found theserviceand the wait for food a bit slow, so plan to enjoy the company you’re with and take it all in while you wait.

great food and a really cool interior. not a bad wait for sunday brunch and totally worth it. the only reason i wouldn't give it a full 5 is the portion of potatoes was actually laughable. there were a total of 2.5 mini potatoes on the plate. still great food and theservicewas pleasant. will be back!

awful experience! food was actually really good, but it took over an hour and a half for our breakfast to arrive. took 45 mins for us to receive coffee even and never got any refills. when we finally got our order, one of the meals was incorrect and the server blamed us for the mistake. after some discussion, she brought us the correct food. the server was not pleasant at all and didn't seem all that concerned that our meal was taking forever and that other tables received their orders before us even after arriving way after us. when it was time for payment, i decided to give a small tip (when theservicebarely warranted any tip) and the server proceeded to call me out for the small tip. i'm sorry, but a tip is indicative of theserviceprovided, and what we received would barely be considered service. not at all professional and extremely inappropriate. i gladly tip well whenserviceis extraordinary and whenserviceis adequate, i will tip the expected amount. the way in which we were treated did not warrant a spectacular tip, and to then be angry with me when you receive a small tip felt extremely rude. will never, ever return.

bright, open and airy, this restaurant is perfectly set up for breakfast and casual dining. it's a long room set up with multiple benches, and works well for single travelers. situated just outside of old montreal, it's a short walk to all the sights. get here early, as it fills up fast. i had a version of eggs benedict, very tasty, well balanced. servicewas efficient. great selection of twists on breakfast mainstays and coffee was fantastic!

finally got to visit this popular brunch joint in old montreal, last time i met with a shut door as i came too late, so don't forget that it's a brunch restaurant and check their hours before you go. their location isn't convenient either, it's about five minutes walk from victoria metro station. but after today's visit, i felt it definitely worth my effort and detour.

the restaurant is inside a very narrow and long hall span from the front all the way to the back. right beside the front door is a window that displays various honors and articles about the restaurant in press and media. the deco is simple and industrial themed with brick walls painted white and painted metal board, marble stones hang on the wall. the ambience is modern and chic, with light pendants hanging right above the dinner tables that let you feel like sitting inside a bar, the kitchen and pastry room was right beside the dining room separated with big glass windows.

all right, now let's talk about their food, i have seen some pictures of their dishes before i came , so i definitely have something in mind as what to order, nevertheless i still want to check out their menu and see what they have to offer. the menu was roughly divided into three sections, brunch, breakfast plates and others such as drinks and sides. since i came for the brunch, i asked the waiter which one he would recommend, sure enough, he recommended the "brunch des cantons" which is what i planed to order. all the brunch meals have two prices, one is 19$ for the brunch only, the other is 26$ with a cocktail called mimosa, since i've never tried this drink before, i ordered both the brunch and the cocktail.

very soon, the waiter brought the cocktail mimosa and a small plate of chocolate flavored cake as starters. the moment i had my first sip of the drink, i knew it would instantly become one of my favorite cocktails. it is made of half champagne and half orange juice, together they produce the taste of home made rice wine with mild alcohol, sweetness, as well as acidity and sourness, truly amazing, so if you visit the restaurant, make sure you order "mimosa". the chocolate cake tastes good too, it is slightly firm than a normal cake and the chocolate is kind of addictive and a perfect pairing with the cocktail.

before i could finish the snacks, the waiter brought the main course "brunch des cantons" in a hot iron cast pan with the food still sizzling inside. boy, did i say this brunch is super rich? it has all the goodies we crave for in a brunch, a mixed meat sausage which i believe includes lamp and herbal spices, a stack of home made ham covered with some sweet roasted bean paste which unlike those from supermarket, actually tastes meaty and tender, several slices of perfectly fried bacon looks crispy but not burned and still retains a bit tenderness, a pile of scrambled eggs cooked to perfection with some of the egg yoke is still in liquid state, and three halves of small potatoes roasted in duck fat. all the ingredients are quite fresh and not too salty, it wasn't as greasy as i expect, holy cow, it tastes like heaven. some may say it wasn't healthy, but we are not having it everyday, so it doesn't hurt if we indulge ourselves once in a while. the brunch also comes with two small slices of french toast and two whipped butter in a separate plate, which i had at the end with the brunch leftovers as its toppings.

theserviceis excellent too, the crew are well dressed, warm , attentive and professional. the only downside might be its price is slightly high, and if there is anything i would like them to change a bit is to include some veggie and fruits in the brunch, of course they have many other options that do include them, but a brunch without any of them doesn't feel complete. over all, my experience is quite pleasant, and this is probably the best brunch i've ever had, hands down. so, for those of you who are visiting montreal, le cartet is a culinary institution you should not miss.

i usually go here for take-away because it's during the lunch hour. they have great salad options and pre-made meals. also lots of niche type chocolates and snacks. it's got a nice atmosphere and theservicei've received has always been good.

i had a cafe au lait and the toscan breakfast plate. the cafe au lait was just right and the toscan wasn't too bad either. the restaurant was pretty packed for sunday brunch when we arrived; so i appreciated the quickservicethe staff seemed to be like a well oiled machine. they need to have a better terrace arrangement though.

yes, the food is great, theserviceis quick. but it is also a very cool place to be in. the vibe is terrific! atmosphere is very positive and relaxed. people are smiling and chatting happily. i would just go there for the shot of positivity in the morning. and i love their little store in the corner, full of wonderful completely overpriced goodies. you'll want to buy one, even if you don't need it.

this place is great for breakfast and brunch. they have a great mix of healthy and hearty options which i really like. their greek yogurt is a favourite of mine, along with their crepes.serviceis okay, sometimes it's difficult to flag down your waitress but most mornings here they are really busy so i get it. nevertheless they're prompt and got all my orders right. the restaurant has a chic vibe that i adore, and i also love that you can buy a lot of their foods, snacks, tea, coffee, and drinks easily to go if you're on the run. i'd definitely come back for seconds and also for their weekend brunch when i have a chance!

le cartet is one of my favourite breakfast spot in montreal. sun-no-sun, le resto boutique  is always a glorious place to start the day with its high ceilings and long wooden tables. its grandeur lays in its extensive breakfast & brunch menu. whether it be during the week or  le week-end, omelettes and bagels are consistently plated, beautifully, savoury and served in more than satisfying proportions. i barely ever manage to finish my plate each time i eat here… but would never think of sharing because of how good and comforting the food is. coffee cups are magically refilled and theserviceis laid-back, in a good way. no wonder we weren’t the only one ready to brave the polar vortex to enjoy le cartet on this cold cold morning.

the place was crowded and butservicedid not seem slow for a sunday morning brunch. this may not be the place for a quiet, intimate chat with your friend at this time of the day, but certainly i will come back for the decor and the energy this restaurant exudes.
